Vicki - get a game bundle like Wii Sports, Wii Play or Wii Resort. I think they are about $50, but come with an additional controller. If you buy a controller on it's own, I think they are 30 or 40. You should buy another nunchuck too, as the game bundle won't come with that, only the controller. Have fun!

Jennifer - I hope the kids are feeling better.

Thanks Tammi. That was the kind of advice I needed. I'm on my way now. She gets out in about 30 minutes and I promised I would be there when she got off work so we could go shopping. I have to put on my game face because Chuck says the girls "know" when I don't want to be shopping with them. :lmao:

Becky has decided she wants me to return the Lego set I got for her. Mom had given me some money for the Legos as well. I was going to take her clothes shopping as well. She knows she has about $180 to shop with. She just called and was wondering if she could get the Wii as her gift.

Chuck & I had decided not to get the Wii. However, I am thinking we really should have it to get us active. So...I think I'm buying a Wii this afternoon. She gets off work at 2pm and I'm supposed to meet her there. For those that have it, what else would we need to enjoy it?

You need the Wii fit plus if you want to get active. We've all been playing with that. You will also need at least one extra controller and nunchuck as the Wii came with one controller and one nunchuck and Wii sports. The kids have been doing a lot of Wii sports.

Wii Resort does not come with an extra controller it comes with a motion plus sensor that attaches to your controller. We ended up having to buy extra motion plus sensors for the kids to all be able to play at once.

Alas...I am no Rock Star :sad2: I was booed off the stage in Guitar Hero. Chris will be up soon. Of course the boys are good at it.

Possible TMI alert:

Katie just started her first period. She's excited, scared, nervous, etc. We've been talking about it for a long time, so she new what was going to happen, and was prepared.

However, she's been hit by cramps badly! Her lower back is hurting so bad she's in tears. I've given her tylenol, but is there anything else I can do for her? I hate to see her in so much pain!

Thank you everyone for the cards. Really enjoyed receiving them :goodvibes

Advil works much better for cramps....hot water bottle or heating pad as well.

I ended up with a Wii, Wii Fit Plus, Wii Resort Sports, and an extra controller. There was not an extra nunchuck to be found in town. Chuck has it all hooked up and is now reading the directions. :lmao: I think that was a little backward myself but it is working.

We also got a $15 game called Game Party which has darts, air hockey, etc. on it that Becky wanted to try. This looks like it could get expensive. What am I saying, it has already become expensive. :rolleyes1

Midol and a heating pad! When I was young, I used to get horrible lower back pain. Midol and the heating pad was the only thing that came close to helping. I would curl up in a fetal position with the heating pad on my back. I even had to leave class a couple of times in high school to go lay down on the benches in the locker room it would be so bad. I feel for Katie!!!!

Thank you everyone for the cards. I haven't really been able to look at them. We hang them around our hallway door frame. Becky has been taking care of them for me. They all look nice hanging up but I didn't get a chance to look at them really. When they come down, I'll read them closely.

Well, Chuck is having fun with the Wii. I am going to read the directions now. I want to find out how to use the Wii Fit Plus and set up my Mii. Chuck is standing in front of me wiggling his butt as he plays. Very cute!

Advil and when she takes it eat some chocolate/drink some caffeine(though I know the caffeine is a no go at your house) because it helps the meds kick in quicker (at least in our house and I know there have been studies on the effects of caffeine helping). Heating pad and laying down also help.

::yes:: It can be very expensive. I bought one for the kids when Amazon had a good deal. My DB and DSIL bought extra controllers and a couple of games and my parents gave the kids some games too. They are enjoying it. It has only been off for the football game today.

Nick and I both got MP3 players so I've been trying to get songs synced from my laptop to the MP3 players. Unfortunately when I cleaned my hard drive I moved all the files to an external hard drive, but the library wasn't cleared so the computer couldn't find the files. I had to reload to the laptop, delete the old library and repopulate the new one. It took forever. Well maybe it just took forever for me to figure out what I needed to do ;)

I wish I could come up there and play with you. I bet we would have a great time!

Chris, Hunter and I are skydiving in Wii Resort. It's fun once you get the hang of it.

This might have been answered already. But when I was her age I had really bad cramps. What worked for me was a heating pad and some Midol or pamprin. Tylenol never worked. I would alternate the midol and Ibuprofen the first day.

I wish you could too. That would be wonderful. We could have some tournaments.
It would be cool if we could link all the Wiis somehow through the internet and have competitions that way. How fun would that be?:confused3 I'd like to see everyone's Mii too:goodvibes
