DDA Chapter 24

There is a 3pm childrens mass so we are heading out to that soon. Enjoy your night!

Our church does a 3, 5 and 7 pm service with the first 2 child friendly (not that the other isn't but the 7 doesn't have child care for the criers).

I'm considering taking the kids to Midnight Mass. It could either be really enjoyable or a big mistake. If I can get them to nap a bit later this afternoon or evening it would be better. Tomorrow they go to their dad's at 4, so if they are cranky then, I don't care.

That is one thing I miss about not being Catholic anymore...Midnight Mass...there is something mystical about that mass.

Merry Christmas Eve all!!

Janet-I am hoping you feel better.

I agree. We have 4:00, 6:30 and 8:30PM Masses today. The 4 and 6:30 will be standing room only, unless you get there 2 hrs beforehand. Last year I went at 10:30 Christmas morning. That Mass was empty.

Lindsay thank you for the Christmas card, Austin sure is cute. :goodvibes

I have robins in my back yard! Spring is coming!

We have a freezing squirrel in the tree out the dining room window. Don't squirrels have enough sense to go - burrow, or something - when it snows?

Merry Christmas Eve!

I finished up all my wrapping at 1:00 this morning! Woo hoo!!! Alan still has some wrapping to do, but that's totally HIS problem! I got up at 6:30 and made one last batch of cinnamon rolls. The kids rolled out of bed at 8:00 and spent an hour cleaning the house. We went to brunch at IHOP at 10:00. I had pecan pie pancakes, and they were so yummy!!! A couple of last minute stops and we are home for the rest of the day.

I've made fudge, Chex mix, roasted pine nuts, made clam dip, and now I'm getting ready to make a start on Christmas dinner. I need to get my egg nog gelatin done, and my sweet potato casserole. In 2 and a half hours I'll start making baked potato soup for dinner tonight. Once everyone eats, the kids will decorate the gingerbread house for Santa. When they're done with that, we'll grab our munchies, and watch "The Nativity Story" around our fireplace. Once it's over, the kids will open their Christmas jammies, and pose for pictures in front of the tree. Hopefully we'll be able to get them to bed soon after that, and then we'll wait for Santa. Hopefully, he won't take too long, and Alan and I can get to bed early!

I hope you all have the merriest of Christmases! It's been another wonderful year on the DDA thread, and I thank heaven for you each and every day! I hope you all know how much you mean to me! I love you all!!

Amy how is Jennifer (tink)?

We actually met up for lunch today! :goodvibes

She is doing well...counting down the days until the end of Kyle's residency. The girls are so cute and smart! Poor Elise had a terrible asthma attack earlier this week, so she wasn't 100%, but we had a nice visit.

She's been updating her blog quite frequently. :)

Merry Christmas to you all! :wave2:

Thank you so much for all the cards! :goodvibes

Still lots to do around here, but creatures are still stirring, so we're waiting for a little while...

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas to my DDA friends and their families!!! I hope that it is a great one for all of you. I have everything ready for morning. Becky will only be here for a couple of hours in the morning and then she is off with her boyfriend and his family. I'm looking forward to the Disney Christmas parade.

Lindsay and Stephanie thank you for the lovely cards :goodvibes I'm going to miss getting all the nice mail that we've been getting lately.

We had a wonderful evening. The 11 of us had appetizers here for dinner. Then our family and my parents went to church. My kids have never been to church, but we knew that this was the perfect year for us to branch out. It was a lovely Methodist church and we knew 90% of the congregation. The Minister was wonderful and made us feel welcomed and included. In fact he had Chris, Nick, Hunter and myself each do a reading. Caroles were sung between each reading and communion was had by all. It was a perfect Christmas Eve. After mass we went to my brother's house for dessert and a Wii bowling tournament. We got home around 10:30 and tucked the boys in. Thankfully Colby fell quickly to sleep so I was able to do the Santa stuff and now I'm off to bed. I hope everyone sleeps soundly tonight and has a wonderful happy and healthy Christmas.
