Good morning. Daniel's staying home as he still has a slight fever.

Hope you all have a good day.:)

Daniel's fever is back over 100 so we have a Dr appt for 11am. He has asthma so I didn't want to wait & see if it's just a cold or what.

Katie's going for an MRI for her migraines. She is not responding to the migraine meds like the Dr thinks she should.

Sophie was off & running this morning so 1 out of 3 isn't bad right?????

Janet....I am not sure why we live in this cold state. Sunny Florida was much nicer!! :rotfl2:

So did you all see me on tv?:rolleyes1 I actually had about a second of airtime on Extreme Makeover Home Edition. They showed me painting a door casing about 3/4 of the way through the program.

The party tonight was okay. They had brownies and cookies and we got to meet the family. They were very nice and both the Mom and Dad encouraged us to call them with any issues with Hunter. They've spent lots of time at CHAD with their son that has leukemia. She said that she would be happy to come sit with us and I'm sure she meant it. I can't believe how many people, many whom we barely know, have offered there support, offered to cook meals, babysit and whatever else we might need. I was totally impressed to see thousands of people come together to build the house for the Marshall, but now we are seeing it for ourselves, from all across the country from good people like all of you  Sometimes we get so caught up in the bad things that we forget to see and appreciate all that is happening to and around us.

I had to pause and rewind three times, but I told Kevin... that's Deb!!:love::love:

To Anne Marie and Bernadette and all of the DDA parents whose children are sick, pixie dust!!!:wizard::wizard::wizard:

I've got to get to work. See you soon.:goodvibes

Deb-if you need anything just holler (that goes for all of you)...I am home most of the time.

:hug::hug: and :wizard::wizard::wizard: to everybody!

:wizard: for Daniel and Katie. It took me 5 different meds till I found one that works for my migraines. Have katie keep a headache diary. when she fets one have her write down what shes ate, the weather, the pollens that are in the air, the date in case its close to time of the month etc. That helped me, Is the meds just when she gets a migraine or are they every day to prevent

Well that went better than I expected. With Nicholas. When they came home I opened the floor for discussion. How was the phone/pictures/texts going to be monitored? My response, from the adult, "I'll watch it". What does that mean?? You'll sit there and stare at it?? So I explained to both of them, more to Nicholas, that we have discussed it and that I feel that he is too young to have a phone, that he has no need for one, yada yada. These are my rules. In my house. So he can keep the phone, but it needs to stay at his dad's. As he gets older, becomes more responsible, matures, and has a need for it, then it can start coming here. Plus it was done without any discussion on my part. He's fine with it, because he said he expected me to keep it anyway. At least he says he is. This is how mature his dad was about it.....when I asked what kind of parental control features are on the phone he says "when it starts coming here then you'll find out." Translation - I have no flippin clue.

Also, let me apologize to anyone that I might have offended with my earlier post. If you have a child that is 10, or whatever age, and have gotten them a phone, I didn't mean to insult you. If that works for your family, that is great. It is just not something that I feel is appropriate for mine. And by no means did I intend to put you in the same parenting category as their dad! :rotfl2:

ETA - after his dad left he and I sat and had a talk about parenting, and how it's a hard job, we have to say no, it's to keep you safe, blah blah blah. I think he really gets it, and I'm very proud of him for understanding my position.

I think you handled this beautifully, Tammi! I would have done the same thing. Based on your family needs, a cell phone really is not warranted. We are in the same situation. At this time, there's just no need for a cell phone. Katie is 12, now, and getting to the point where she will need one, but she is having to earn it by getting straight A's or A- on her report card all year long.

Way to go, Nicholas, for being so mature and understanding where your mom is coming from!

I THOUGHT THAT WAS YOU!!!! I told Alan it was. Glad to know I was right!

Isn't it wonderful to see how many good people there are surrounding you?

Bless their hearts! I'm glad you're not taking chances with Daniel! Asthma complicates everything, so I'm glad you are on top of it!

As for Katie, I'm so sorry about the migraines! I had them beginning in 7th grade and they have continued to the present time. Mine coincide with my "monthly visitor." It's really a bother! Nothing touches them, and I have to close myself in a dark room with an ice cold cloth on my head. Generally, Alan takes the kids away while I'm having one.

Here's hoping the doctor can find a solution for both of them! And here's also hoping that Sophie stays well!!!

I got the outside decorations put up this morning. It started drizzling halfway through but I kept going so it would be done. The garland is on the porch railing and the lights are on the bushes and tree. I still need to hang the wreaths on all the windows, but the fake velvet ribbon is looking rather worn. I'll have to replace that before I put them up. I think it's time for some lunch.

Thanks everyone for the good thoughts for my kiddos.

Dr. said Daniel's lungs are clear & to keep in on his accute inhaler. She thinks he can go to school tom'w.:thumbsup2

Jennifer,
That is a great idea to keep a migraine diary!
