DDA Chapter 23

Dorinda might have been right about waiting until today to look at the weather forecast but I won't be telling her that.

Last week accuweather had 5 nights in the 40's now there are none!!! weather.com had 2 days with 60% chance of rain-now they have 1 with 40%.

I have a 10am appointment for a hair cut then I have to get the Christmas tree up like I promised Emma. Then I need to PACK!!!!

We are venturing to the mall today. I need to get my mom & MIL their presents. Plus some webkinz for my neices & nephews.

Elizabeth I love ya, but now I have a headache. ;)

I always take a few pair of shorts in December and wind up wear them.

I am done Christmas shopping (thank you Disney) except for a pair of sneakers for Dawn and I can order them online.

Good greif has the wind been horrible, last night and today.

DH and I just came back from the mall. It was empty. Macy's opened at 8 AM, we got there about 8:30 and there were just a few cars in the lot.

I bought some Uggs. :) But I probably won't bring them to WDW.

Picked up my shoes from the cobbler, turned in the library book.

Now it is time to repack. Again.

Hope everyone is having a good day...Im having some issues with my laptop..the pottom left of the screen seems to have come off the hinges and is cracking--they said it just happens sometimes no matter how well you care for the laptop..so im working to see if i am still under warranty or what i need to do to fix it. It sounds like it is an expensive fix, for a computer that is not too old..ugh

I got my pedicure/manicure this morning and finished my laundry. Clothes that I plan to take are in piles on my cedar chest and the carry-on has my replenished quart bag. I am waiting to throw the clothes in until Friday morning so that I can fine-tune it as the weather forecasts continue to change!

A manicure sounds lovely! But since I am working Mon - Thur I am sure my hands will look like they have been chewed by wolves before I get to WDW. Pixie requires many, many, many trips to the sink to wash my hands.

I am packed (again) and I think I am happy now. I gave up on the capris and the denim jacket.

I have my make-up and my quart bag.

DS was working on organizing his backpack. Hopefully he made some progress.

DH has done nothing. But he is a grown-up, so this is his problem, not mine.

My bi-weekly manicure has changed drastically in the past 8 months or so. Chances are no one even knows I get one! I had the problem of my thumb nails breaking because of the angle that I continuously I hit them on the piano keys. When I was discussing this with the young man who does my manicures he asked if I had ever thought of gel nails. I have very strong nails and I also told him I was not interested in longer nails that required up keep and polish changing. He explained the procedure and promised that if I wasn't happy he would refund my money. How could I lose?

Well, I am happy to report that my nails always look freshly manicured and I never have to do anything to them but visit him every two weeks or so. They are natural looking but I can apply polish if I choose. They are practically impervious to everything including lots of hand washing, dish water, bathroom cleaning products and working in my garden! If I do decide to polish them it will last for over a week with no chipping! (And I haven't had a broken nail at all since I started.)

ETA: I have my Dad's hands!!!

I bought a 4GB SDHC card at Target on Friday and it doesn't work with my camera. Does anyone want to buy it ($10) or trade me for a 2GB SDHC card? :teeth: Thanks!

ETA: I'll be back on the computer around 7pm. Feel free to call me or email me if you really really want it! Or just post...

I DID settle the jean issue, but only as it pertains to wearing jeans in my home city! I have 6 new pairs, 3 fit exactly right. So I can bring those 3 plus my favorite old pair and be covered for the trip, but then the shoes/shirts/jackets confound me. I can only fit one pair of shoes in the bag, so the shoes I wear on the plane need to be useful. BUT since I won't have the laptop if I get desperate I may shove shoes in my backpack.

Maybe I will buy another AKL throw blanket, wrap myself in it, and spend the entire weekend in front of the fire pit at the resort!

I have looked at weather.com 3 times today, and the forecast for my days has changed every time.

The new shirt I bought tonight is still a tiny bit damp from the wash and my Bandolino shoes are still at the cobbler. When I get my shoes back tomorrow I will dump the suitcase and start over again.

If you are only going for 3 days I would wear a pair of jeans on the plane and at most bring one other pair. Jeans can be worn more than one day and you have access to a washer and dryer if you really need to wash them.

We had a good night or at least I think so. Hunter and I went to bed at 10 PM and didn't get up until 10 AM. I woke up a few times and he was fine, I got up a 7 and gave him his meds. I guess the Ativan worked for me since I actually slept. I started my Prozac today and it seems to be going okay. I haven't had any anxiety attacks, but then again I've kept busy enough that I haven't had time to think. We've started operation deep clean. The plan is to have every nook and cranny of this house cleaned before his surgery. I don't want any chance of him getting an infection when he comes home. I cleaned Hunter's room last week thoroughly. Today we got the main bathroom done, top to bottom including the closet. My Mom helped Nick get his totally done. I also got the bathroom decorated for Christmas. It may not feel like Christmas, but we need to keep things as normal as possible for Hunter.

I'm home, and happy to report that the weather here is much nicer than in PA. I dropped the kids off at their dad's on the way through and they will come home tomorrow. Now I have a nice, quiet evening ahead of me.

Let me just say that I don't feel one bit sorry for you all in a packing quandry. You're going to WDW and I'm not. ;) But, of course, I'll be going through the exact same thing you are in about a month or so.

Hi all. Not much here, just insanely tired. Lots of small sleep nights have caught up with me with a vengence. Hopefully, tonight won't be too late and tomorrow won't be too early and then I can catch up a bit. Of course, I did determine today that I think I'm going to have to ask Target to put me on the cashiering schedule for the rest of the holiday season while my comp shopping is on holiday hiatus. I just really need the money I could make there these next few weeks even though it will mean working most to all of most of my days. I may sleep through Christmas at that rate, but at least I'll do so with at least the important bills paid.

Glad you all are home safe and sound. I saw there was snow up there!

My mother is driving me nuts. She is turning into my grandmother and I don't like it or know what to do. She never seems to have anything good to say. She is definitely a half full type of person any more. She is one of the most giving, caring people I know but no one gets to see that side of her anymore. It is very sad for me. I don't want to spend any time with her because I hear the same negative stories over & over!

That's a tough situation, Vicki. :grouphug: I hope things improve for her and you.
