Bernadette I hope Emma gets well fast

Tia:wizard: for the tummy issues and the dog

Deb glad you guys had a great night

My mother is driving me nuts. She is turning into my grandmother and I don't like it or know what to do. She never seems to have anything good to say. She is definitely a half full type of person any more. She is one of the most giving, caring people I know but no one gets to see that side of her anymore. It is very sad for me. I don't want to spend any time with her because I hear the same negative stories over & over!

I know that you don't want to hear this, but it is very typical for people to act that way. It tends to get worse the older they get

Don't even get me started on her thoughts on that subject! She just got done making 25 baby quilts and about a dozen afghans to donate to the hospital. The nurses give them to needy families. She has gotten names from a tree to give gifts for needy families. She has made a tree skirt for everyone of my cousins kids who have recently married (remember I have 20 aunts & uncles from both sides before they were married which makes for lots & lots of cousins) as well as baby quilts or afghans for their babies. Lots of my family are considered "needy" families. However, when you broach the subject of volunteering at a school or church or anywhere, she goes off on me. It is ridiculous. She needs to get out with people but I don't know how to get her to do that.

Maybe someone in her neighborhood has an organization that needs volunteers. If they approached her it might be more acceptable than you bringing it up.

Emma is sick. She got a fever last Sunday. Seemed to be pretty well over it Wednesday but now the fever is back (101.5 so not crazy high) and she can't stop coughing. We gave her cough medicine last night and it seemed to help and she slept well but we've tried giving it to her twice today and it doesn't seem to do anything for her.

I got all the Christmas decorations out today. Got the Christmas photos out-the kids love to see those! Got the nativity set up and my Santas out. Hopefully DH will feel up to putting up the tree tomorrow but I'm pretty sure we'll be at the doctor with Emma and I have to go to work too so I don't know if that will happen. I promised Emma we would put it up before I went away.

I still haven't pack or made backups of my photos so I can reformat my memory cards or charged batteries.....

I did do the book for my mother in law-but didn't order it yet-I need to order a few prints too and should do some Chrismas cards......

Keep a close eye on her. From what I've heard from the doctor's at the pool, the H1N1 isn't too serious in and of itself, but it is the "rebound" that is actually a separate bacterial infection and that secondary illness complete with fever is the dangerous one.

We need to head to bed. We got a ton done today around the house and we went grocery shopping, got Nick a new cell phone and Hunter and I made a cute beaded necklace with a bottom loop to put my sunglasses through.

Deb - I just got caught up, and can't believe what I've missed in the last 5 days! My prayers are with you, and I would like to put your name, Hunter's name and Chris's name on our church's prayer roll. If this is ok, let me know and I will do it tomorrow. Please know that I'm holding all of you close in my heart. It looks like the doctor is very good, and hopefully the best case scenario is going to happen. When is the surgery again? I want to be sure to be on top of it.

Things have been crazy around here, but I'm happy to say that things are looking up. We worked ourselves to the bone, remodeling the basement for my dad's Thanksgiving visit. The paint job looks wonderful, and Alan did a great job patching and repairing the holes in the walls. Once my dad got here, it was go, go, go! We spent Wednesday doing some shopping, and scored some major deals at Macy's. Thanksgiving was really nice and relaxing, especially since I didn't have to worry about the turkey. Everything turned out well for our dinner. The only drawback was that Alan was sent to work. A young father was trapped in a cave and died Wednesday night. Alan was at the mine most of Thanksgiving day, and again, all day yesterday. It was a terribly sad thing to happen! It made me thankful for my family, and I hugged them all close.

Black Friday was probably the best I've ever had! I got up at 2:45, and sat at the computer. I had things I wanted at Walmart, so I went to their site, loaded up my cart, and at 3:01 I checked out, getting everything that I wanted. I was back in bed by 3:11. Slept until 8:00, and then Dad and I went back out to Macy's to pick up some more stuff for his staff. After he left to go back home, I got things ready for Timothy's birthday "party." He was pretty confused about all the fuss, but really enjoyed the cake (check out the video on my FB page!).

Today, the dishwasher that Dad bought Alan and me for Christmas arrived and was installed! It is so beautiful!!! I've never had a brand new appliance, so it was a very cool day for me!

You are all in my thoughts and prayers, and I promise to be a better friend!

P.S. Can anyone tell my why I'm not getting emails telling me about new posts on this thread, anymore?

Our definite travel plans are to wait until February. A December trip was a nice dream but it just isn't going to happen. We don't feel it is cost-effective.
Well, if you can make it in January, we'll be there!

Good morning. :)

I took Friday and Saturday off, but I have to go to work today. Only one day though, then I'll be off for two.

Bernadette - I hope Emma is feeling better today.

Bernadette, I hope Emma feels better! And I hope Lizzy doesn't get sick! :wizard:

Tammi, have a good day! :)

Apparently I have pre-WDW insomnia.

Bernadette I hope Emma gets well fast
Thanks!

Keep a close eye on her. From what I've heard from the doctor's at the pool, the H1N1 isn't too serious in and of itself, but it is the "rebound" that is actually a separate bacterial infection and that secondary illness complete with fever is the dangerous one.
We have to call the doctor today! They open at 11am. She slept well from about 10pm to about 2:30 then started coughing non stop. I got up at 3am and told her she had to take the cough medicine-she didn't want to but she fell back to sleep and is still sleeping soundly but she seems to be breathing a bit fast. I'm pretty worried about her and don't want to leave her like this.

Deb - I just got caught up, and can't believe what I've missed in the last 5 days! My prayers are with you, and I would like to put your name, Hunter's name and Chris's name on our church's prayer roll. If this is ok, let me know and I will do it tomorrow. I didn't think to ask Deb. I've asked my sister in law, the minister, to put Hunter on her prayer list. Hope that is OK.

A young father was trapped in a cave and died Wednesday night. Alan was at the mine most of Thanksgiving day, and again, all day yesterday. It was a terribly sad thing to happen! It made me thankful for my family, and I hugged them all close.
So sad. I had heard about it on TV but didn't realize he was a father.

Bernadette - I hope Emma is feeling better today.
Thanks!

Bernadette, I hope Emma feels better! And I hope Lizzy doesn't get sick! :wizard:
Lizzy already had this. She had the fever for about 2 days and the cough hung on for weeks but it wasn't non stop like Emma's is and the fever didn't return. I'm actually a bit concerned that I am coming down with something. I have a nasty headache but I haven't sleep well in over a week.

I am not up for this trip. I am not ready. I haven't packed. I need to charge batteries, reformat memory, get tip envelopes ready-maybe I'll just have Lizzy decorate some with stickers on the plane, I did go to the bank so that is all set., I wanted to get the Christmas gifts that need to be mailed ready so DH could mail them while I'm gone, I need to get Lizzy busy on some homework today, OH...and I need to go to work for a few hours either today or in the morning-I thinking today would be less stressful.

Good morning DDA! I can't wait to see you this week.

Although like Bernadette, I'm not ready. My one sister just left. I have not packed. I didn't get a chance to hang my lights outside and now there is frost on the grass. Sigh.

I didn't get a chance to address my Christmas cards. Heck, I haven't even located my Christmas cards. I truly expected to have my tree up today. That's not going to happen.

Today will be laundry and watching football. I hope I can find my cards so I can address them. I hope that the seamstress can pull a rush job and have my jeans hemmed by Thursday.

I was able to find all of the gifts I needed to buy. The rest of the stuff I need to get at Disney.

I'm going to get a shower and go to church. I'm going to light a candle for Hunter.

Have a great Sunday DDA.:love::goodvibes

Hi there!

Heading to the airport soon...I wonder how incredibly bad this is going to be...

Vicki-I am sorry you are having trouble with your mom. Have you told her that you've heard that story before and don't need to hear it again? I find that if I do that most people stop repeating the stories.

That works for the moment but an hour later, you hear it again. I get tired of repeating myself over & over. I just started ignoring her. Chuck is ready for me to go back to Lansing because he's not enjoying himself with both of us here.

Daniel is sick & all this H1N1 stuff has me in a tizzy. He had a fever last night, cough, runny nose...so I gave him tylenol before bed. I checked him at 3am & he felt cooler so I let him sleep. This morning he is coughing & has a fever again. However he is his usual self, sweet, helpful & of course bouncing with energy. I am going to call the pediatrician & see what she says. He did have the regular flu shot but I am nervous.

Morning, everyone! It's a beautiful fall day here. Wish I could enjoy it, but I've had the chills all day yesterday, and again today. I think I'm coming down with something, as my throat is scratchy, and I have a wicked headache. I'm going to get the family off to church, and then crawl back into bed. I may detour into a hot bath, but we'll see!

Anne Marie - I'm sorry that Daniel is not feeling well. A call to the pediatrician is probably a really good idea! Pixie dust that it's just a quick bug, and not H1N1.

Bernadette - Sorry about Emma, too! Sounds like she also needs a call to the pediatrician! Here's hoping that you don't get it (Lizzie, either)!

Kristine - I've been loving your TR. Sorry you have to come home! Hope the flight is ok! How fun that you met up with Marti and Paul!!!

Have a great day, everyone! I'll check back later!
