DDA Chapter 23

I cannot believe I am coming here to post something horrible again. The father of two of my students died suddenly today. He had knee surgery six weeks ago and apparently this pulmonary embolism was related to that surgery. He was just in class Monday night! My heart is breaking for these fatherless children. Please hug your husbands and children extra tight tonight.
I have no words for this.

There is way to much sadness lately. :sad1:

No work for me today as my back went out again. This time it was just bending over to get clothes out of the dryer. It has been acting up the past 2 weeks & yesterday it hit full force. Such is life I guess.
:wizard:Hope you find some relief soon!

Laura pulled something in her back yesterday, and it hurts to move, but she's ok to go to school. She's too young for that! It might have something to do with the 30 pounds of books that she has to carry around all day.
:wizard:Hope her back is all better real soon too!!!

Love your new signature!

Santa's done here...:santa: Laptops for older ones & a DSi for Sophie. Mostly video games & lots of books....no "toys" though. :sad2:

My neighbor hosted a Thirty-One party so I got all the cousins monogramed bags.

Just Dana & the moms left.

Hopefully we will get some Christmas decorations up this weekend.
Wow! You're doing great! I'm doing pretty well. I think the kids are done except some stocking stuff. I just ordered about $100 worth of little plastic toys. Emma LOVES those Schleich figures and plays with them all the time. Some will be for Christmas and some for her birthday in January.

Not sure what I'll get Gene. I may even talk to him about NOT exchanging gifts-I'll get stuff from the kids but I don't know that I will get him anything "big".

I've promised Emma we'll get the tree up the weekend after Thanksgiving-before I go away.

I need to make my mother in law a photo book on the Kodak website. I need to upload the photos from the trip to the Cape. I need to order my Christmas cards. I want to make several more gifts too. Hope I have a productive weekend this weekend!

I had my parent's came down to watch the boys while I went to the grocery store. I decided to stop by the Aquatic Center on my way by to hand in my key. As it worked out, the new director, board member (the one that donated the land and money) and the financial manager were in a meeting. I walked in, handed them my key, much to their suprise. They asked why and I gave them a brief, no name rundown of the poor personel, management policies and lack of team work (dictatorship may have been thrown out). The board member gave me an I know what you mean to which I responded "you have no idea, there are things going on that lawsuits are made of". I said that after I get my son's situation under control I would come in to discuss things further and that I would consider coming back "if" they get things under control and I walked out the door. I hope that I left them with lots of questions and concerns and no details ;) They really need to take a look at their operations then I'll put in my 2 cents worth. Man I'd like to be a fly on the wall now.

I got a call from Chris as I was checking out at the grocery store. Hunter was complaining of a tummy ache and they couldn't find the thermometer. I put a call into pediatrics to make sure it was noted in his chart. This was on my drive home. He does have a tummy ache, but no fever. The plan is to just watch him. I must say that I feel like I can't leave without him at all. Colby is also extra needy and he says he also has a tummy ache :confused3 Calgon...take me away.
:wizard:Hope get some answers today! Hope the boys aren't getting sick too.

Glad you were able to express your concerns at the aquatic center.

Terra loves those things too! We have so many of their animals and just recently she started getting a few of the mythical creatures - fairies, dragons and wizards.

Chris thanks you for the birthday wishes. They were perfect. We certainly needed a little sunshine in our day.

We were awaken at 5:45 this morning with a thrashing sound in Hunter's room. We headed into his room to find him in a full blown Grand Mal Seizure. Chris called 911 while I got him onto the floor. He was completely nonresponsive, eyes wide open, but no one home. He was breathing and his heart was beating. I did my best to keep his attention (I have no idea if I did or not) Chris handed me 911 and used the other phone to call my SIL next door. She ran over (she's a nurse) we got some table sugar and managed to get a bit into him through clenched teeth and dry lips. Eventually he began to utter nonsense words and he became combative, trying to get up. The Ambulance came and we checked his sugar which was normal, but we had gotten some sugar into him :confused3 We got him into the ambulance and off we went. We were probably 15 miles into the trip when he finally came back to reality and started talking and making complete sense. He seems completely fine now. The Dr. really told us nothing. We have a follow up with a pediatric neurologist on Friday. In the thrashing he managed to rebreak his clavicle and much worse. They are treating it as they were, but the 8 weeks start over. Nick and Colby saw all this happen so they were really upset. They didn't go to school, my brother and SIL kept them. Oh, I decided that my stress levels are Way too high at this point so I called and quit at the Aquatic Center. So I guess this is a day for the books.

Oh Deb! I'm so sorry! I've been MIA for the last couple of days, so I missed this! I'm crossing my fingers for some good news today. Please take care of yourselves! I'm also glad you quit the job! That's one less thing to worry about, now.

Oh, Elin! I saw your FB post and wondered what was going on. I'm so sorry for this family.

:hug:That is much more frequent than people realize. A blood clot was/is certainly a concern for us as Hunter recently broke his clavicle. The doctors say that it is nearly impossible, but you still wonder. That poor family

Colby has a horrible cough, but no fever. He has gone to school. He has his 7 year check up this afternoon.
Nick has a cough, stuffy nose and sore throat, no fever. He has had it for nearly 2 weeks so he is home today and has a doctors appt this afternoon.
Hunter had a good night and a great morning so far. His appointment is at 10 am and we are praying for answers.

Chris took the day off so we'll be back an forth to the hospital most of the day.

Emma had a couple of those on her list but I didn't get any of them yet. I finished out her dog collection, got a couple of bunnies, a bunny hutch, some "wild" animals-a set of white tigers, feeding trough, fence....I think she'll get the non dogs for Christmas-Santa doesn't wrap so he can set that stuff up on a table. Then she can get the dogs for her birthday. I found free directions online for making a fabric doll house and I want to try to make some sort of dog house for her-of course I want to make her a few outfits for her trip so I don't know when I'm going to have time to make it.

Here's the tutorial:

How's your back today, Janet?

Much better today, thanks for asking! It likes to flare up once in a while & I just have to take it easy. At least I can stand up straight today :thumbsup2

Deb I hope all goes well with the Dr.appointments :wizard:

Deb - I am hoping you get some answers today.

Janet - glad your back is better today!
