Don't your potatoes get mushy when you freeze stew? I sometimes freeze the leftovers for Kevin's lunches, but I refuse to eat it because the texture is all funky.
No. But then again I like mine on the softer side.

What day do you leave, and where are you staying?

Good morning. :)

Debbie, Heidi and crew - Have a magical day!

It's still raining here.

I think I'm going to try to venture out for some Christmas shopping after I drop the kids at school.

Have a great day everyone.

Heidi - I was reading on all ears about MVMCP on the 10th. Jack Spence blogged about being there, and even mentioned the rain, so it still went on. Hopefully that means tonight won't be bad.

No. But then again I like mine on the softer side.

What day do you leave, and where are you staying?

Our drive begins tomorrow evening...we'll drive straight through the night, and should arrive early afternoon Saturday. We're staying at Coronado Springs for Saturday night (to conserve our points for the week) and then moving over to Boardwalk. This is our first time not staying at OKW since we bought DVC. We break the drive home up over two days, so we'll leave Sunday, 11/22 and get home on the 23rd. The kids will go to their Thanksgiving celebrations at school on Tuesday, and then we turn around and go to Huron for 5 days.

I was just telling Jennifer, it's ridiculous that I can know about a trip for months and months and yet, I still fail to get things done like making autograph books, etc. That's life with three (1/2 :) ) little ones. I think Alyssa and Matty are going to be thrilled to pick out autograph books at the store though. :rotfl:

I am doing something new this trip: presents from Tinker Bell. It's really just a jumpstart on Christmas, but I bought the kids new Leapster games, books, movies, etc. for the long drive home.

Sammy and I have a doctor's appointment this morning.

Have a great day, DDA! :wave2:

Those of you dealing with the rest of Ida, stay safe and dry!

Sounds like a fun week, Amy. I hope your appt. goes smoothly.

Amy and Kevin - Have a wonderful trip!!! I can't wait to hear all about it! Good luck at your appointment today.

Heidi - Have fun at the party tonight. Hopefully it won't be too crowded.

Anne Marie and Tammi - Good luck with the Christmas shopping. I've gotten started, but not done much for my own kids, just the nieces and nephews who's names we drew. Alan and I still need to set a budget for our kids. Wish I could pin him down on that!

Elin - Sorry about the lights. I loved seeing them when we were there for the marathon weekend. They were so pretty!

Well, I'm in for a fun-filled day of wall washing and going through toy boxes today. Gotta get rid of a ton of stuff while the kids are in school, and can't say anything about it! Later this afternoon, I'll pick up my dad (a colleague of his is driving him up to see my niece in a play), we'll go to dinner together, and then to see my niece in "Much Ado About Nothing." Katie is going with us so she can get some extra credit for her drama class.

I really need to fit in a trip to the store for a new laundry basket and something easy for dinner, too. Hope I can get it all done!

Wow, things have come to a head at the aquatic center. The management and lifeguards are in an all out battle and it happened yesterday after I left. Things were not good this morning, but there wasn't much management around. I said my peace to one manager (not my direct managers as you can't talk to them without conflict) and to a board member who came in swimming. My 9 am replacement refused to guard under these conditions and headed into the directors office as I left. That means one pool was completely unguarded. It will be interesting to see how things pan out. I've said what I need to and made it clear that I will not compromise my morals or put the public at risk just because they want to make cost cutting decisions that are fundamentally unsafe.

Deb-it seems to me that with the way the aquatic center is being run (or not being run) that the state health dept or whoever is the overseer of such facilities need to step in. This center is too new to not still be on the radar...I would think.

They think we are pretty darned stupid.

Or they don't care what we think.

Good Morning,

It's a cool misty morning here, hopefully the skies will clear some. Today is a MK day, we're headed over there this morning until lunch, then we'll take a mid day break before having dinner a Grand Floridian Cafe followed by the Christmas party.

Any of you in the bad weather today stay safe, Ida is not giving up easy.

Amy, have a wonderful trip!
Hope you have good weather for the party tonight!

Good morning,

I didn't sleep well either..it rained & poured all night (remnants of Ida) & the noise kept me up.

I am going to the mall to try to get some Christmas shopping done & I know I will be needing a huge coffee while I am there.
:wizard:Good luck shopping! I still can't decide what to get Lizzy.:confused3

Travel safely!!! Have a very magical trip! I'm sure the kids will love the purchased autograph books!

Glad you've made yourself clear! Don't they have insurance? I would think the insurance company would have something to say about what they are doing.

I really hope you can find something else soon!!!:wizard:

Checking in quickly to say it was a good appointment. They don't think another ultrasound is necessary. :goodvibes

Deb, I was going to say "hang in there," but honestly, I think it's time to say goodbye to the aquatic center!

Amy,
Glad to hear the appointment for you & Sammy went well!:thumbsup2

Debbie,
I am sorry to hear about the craziness going on at the aquatic center. I agree with Amy.

Well I went to Best Buy & they dd not have the $250 laptop. No store within 50 miles has one so I didn't have luck with that. The next less expensive laptop is $329 so I have to think about that as both Katie & Daniel asked for that for Christmas.

I did get the Nintendo DSi for Sophie in pink at Target. I had some $ leftover on a giftcard so I used it towards that. Now I just have to get some games for her. This time last year Toys R Us had their "buy 2 get 1 free" on Nintendo & Wii games but I must have missed it or they are not doing it this year.:confused3

After that I went to Walmart & got Sophie some craft suppies. So I made alittle dent in my shopping.:)

Kirsten loves the DSi...she's a gadget kid....can't imagine where she get's it from!! :cool2:

I have been sick for days & it's cutting into my packing time....today's diagnosis is bronchitis...so hopefully with drugs I will bounce back quickly.

That didn't happen, and its gonna be cold at the party tonight. However things are looking up for the rest of the week.

It's a cool misty morning here, hopefully the skies will clear some.

Amy have a safe and fun trip and :yay: for no more ultrasounds.
