Good morning, everyone! What a crazy, busy weekend!
We spent all day Saturday working on little projects around the house. Alan replaced the sheetrock in our basement family room and bathroom that collapsed when our fridge leaked. Now, he will spend this week texturing and painting. I deep cleaned the kitchen in preparation for Thanksgiving, and the kids raked the leaves and put them all in the garden for compost! I've got to spend this week washing walls, and general tidying up. A little bit every day and it's not so overwhelming!
Saturday night, Alan and I took Jacob out for his birthday dinner. He was positive that he wanted crab (never had it before), so we took him to Joe's Crab Shack. He and Alan split a steam pot and he loved it!!! He felt so grown up! Unfortunately, though, the food took forever to get to us, so we missed the movie that he wanted to see. We promised to take him this weekend, instead.
Yesterday was his actual birthday. I think he had a good day! He got a Bionicle, some Bakugan stuff, and the
lego Indiana Jones game for the Wii! We didn't see him for the rest of the day after he saw that! Talk about a winner! I made him his favorite meal: salmon patties, and after dinner we had "The Ultimate Chocolate Layer Reese's Peanut Butter Cake". It was amazing!!! Talk about a sugar rush! Then we settled in and watched his favorite movie: Transformers. Not my favorite, but he loved having everyone watch it with him.
Today, I was supposed to go to jury duty, but the case was settled, so I'm off the hook for a while. My "term" ends at the end of the year, so I've got more time that I could be called for duty. I don't mind, but I'd hate to have to do it during the holidays when I should be shopping. With that in mind, I'll be heading out today to try to knock some stuff off my list. I've picked up a few things here and there, but need to really buckle down.
Anne Marie - I loved your TR. You all looked so happy! I'm sorry it's over!
Deb - I hope things calm down at work so you don't get so stressed!
Theresa - Great buy!!! I'd love that cookbook!!!
Debbie - Hope the trip is enjoyable, even with TMJ. Hope the pain meds help!
Heidi - I hope you have a great trip! I can't wait to hear all about it!
Tammi - Do you think my 7 year old girls would be able to handle Christmas Carol? I'm torn about taking them.
Amy - How is Kevin feeling???
Have a great day, everyone!
