DDA Chapter 23

Such good news, Glynis. I order music from Deseret occasionally... they are a good company!

Thanks, Elin! They really are a good company. Very family oriented! My deepest wish (shhh, don't tell Alan), would be that they would hire him permanently, and he could quit the photographer's position. Carrying around that heavy camera is killing his back and shoulders, and he's just getting too old to do it for much longer! Of course, this would have to wait until the economy picks up, but hey, a girl can dream, right???

It should be your turn! And Theresa's and Glynis' and... many of you deserve turns too. :(

At least we get to live through you all! It would be worse if I couldn't read and dream about a trip!

Debbie - Here's hoping your real doctor can figure out a game plan for your sinuses! This has gone on way too long!

Anne Marie - Welcome back! I can't wait to hear all about the trip! Pictures too, if ya got 'em!

Tammi - Thanks for the reminder. I'm heading out to vote, as soon as the kids leave this morning!

It's looking to be another beautiful day here. Hopefully, I can get some errands run! I would rather stay at home, but there are things that need to be done outside of the house! Timothy is a great companion in the car, lately. He babbles and giggles and I love to just listen to him. It's hard to believe that a whole year has gone by already! I hate that he's growing up so fast, but that's life!

So, I have a question for y'all. Alan and I have never used a cleaning service for our house, but he found a company yesterday that will clean the living areas of my house plus 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms for 80 dollars. This would be very deep cleaning. Alan's thought is that we should do it, since I'm running myself ragged doing my own homework, keeping on top of the kid's homework, making dinners, doing laundry, etc. Something inside me balks at hiring someone else to clean my house, but with Dad coming for Thanksgiving, I'm wondering if I should. Opinions????

Glynis - would the cleaning be a one time thing, or on a permanent basis? Either way, I say go for it! If it's permanent, just make sure you stay on top of her. After awhile they get kind of lax, and need to be reined back in. I have a lady that comes every 2 weeks, but now that the kids are getting older, I think her days are numbered. Nicholas and Alyssa need to learn proper housekeeping!

Glynis - congrats to Alan, I can't believe Timothy is almost one, time really does fly

Anne Marie - Welcome home!

It's now been two weeks since my "sinus pain" started and it's still here, I do think it has improved some but I'm totally exhausted, I haven't slept through the night in all this time. Pain meds take the edge off but they don't get rid of it unless it's the strong ones that knock me out and I can't function on those, so it's back to the doctor this afternoon, my doctor this time not the "Doc in a box" so hopefully she can come up with a solution.

Debbie, I hope you can finally get some answers from your Dr! :wizard:

Welcome home Ann Marie, glad you had a nice time.

Welcome home, Anne Marie!

I go to Disney next week.

YAY!! :dance3:

Hi!!! We are back. Had a wonderful trip! MNSSHP was great & we loved the Contemporary. I am going to read everything tommorow, going to get some sleep now.

Gosh! Look at my tickers!! :yay:

32 days till I see lots of friends and only 45 days until our Christmas trip begins. Where is the time flying to?

I said the same thing yesterday--I have 22 days til I leave for dallas and the trip came up so suddenly it seems--i cant believe it!

I see my ticker says two weeks:scared1::scared1:. I did pull out the suitcases yesterday.:)

You would think they would be content to go after the ones who are SKIPPING school, who are failing, whose parents are clueless. But NOOOO, they have to bother the parents who have kids doing theater performances. I think a lot of the kids DS has classes with at DCT are homeschooled.

Looking at the Cast Roster, you would be correct. Almost if not more then half are home schooled in her cast.

Mya attends the Monday classes, when does your child go and what classes do they attend? We started just this summer, but are loving it.

He does Improv II on Wednesdays. :)
He has been taking classes there for the past 4 years. "Makin' Movies" was his favorite, but he is too old for that one now. I was hoping to talk him into "Auditions and Monologues" for Spring but he wasn't having any part of a Saturday AM class. :rotfl2: I think we are taking the Spring session off, but he might do the Spring Fling mini session.

Welcome back! Can't wait to hear all about it.

:hug:Speaking of the Inlaws, whatever happened to their offering to buy you a house?

Welcom Home, can't wait to hear about your adventures :goodvibes

Well, that's a whole other frustration. They keep saying it will happen, we just don't know when. Something about the BIL who they let take over the company after FIL's stroke spending money like crazy in the company. They don't want him to be doing that, but can't stop him or something, and until it stops they can't buy our house. Basically, it's a big mess of confusion to me. Poor Terra just asked the other day, "How many more days until we get our own house." The hardest part was that they told us to move on it right away after Christmas so we were looking hard and got her (and all of us) so excited, that now she doesn't understand why we haven't gone yet. I feel terrible too as I'm so anxious to move and hate that they're taking so long, but then on the other hand how can I be so impatient for such generosity. Argh! It's a tough one. :sad1:

Woohoo!!! :dance3:

Decemer 2010? Third annual girls trip? I already have a sitter!! :-)

Say maybe Dec 4-11ish sometime. Ya know that week that Jennifer is going. And the week I think maybe we're going now too as Terra likes the idea of going when Olivia will be there. Yeah, I think that would be a good time for it!

It should be your turn! And Theresa's and Glynis' and... many of you deserve turns too. :(

Me too.....we leave December 26th. The last time we went it was Dec 2006. It's been 3 long years.

DO IT!!! You will love it. We cancelled our cleaning lady while I was out of work...two months!!.....I was so happy after my first paycheck when my husband said he set her to start coming back.

Do any of you listen to www.d-cot.com ? I just discovered it yesterday from a blog and really like it. It's streaming Disney park music on a jukebox type setting. You can select what park or area you want to hear music from. Then if you like a song, you can add it to your favorites and can choose to listen only to your favorites. There's even a "browse library" button if you want to just search out a specific song. I like too that some of the area music is broken up by song. Instead of the 50 minutes "Tree of Life Area Music" that I have downloaded I can just listen to a song or two and move on to something else. It's pretty cool.

It would just be a one time thing. Just to get us ready for the holidays. I want my kids to learn how to do the deep cleaning, and not just the surface stuff they usually do, but I feel really overwhelmed right now, and this might be helpful.

I am glad you all had a good time. Hopefully you have been "recharged" and a re ready to jump back in to real life! We missed you!

Thanks Elin,

I am never ready to return to real life after Disney!:rotfl:

Glynis,
I think a cleaner is a great idea. At least that is one less thing to worry about.:thumbsup2

Another question, here.

If I have things on layaway, and I get a sale paper showing lower prices for stuff I've got on layaway, will I get the sale price? I've got some stuff on layaway at Kmart, and am wondering if I should have waited until after Black Friday, or if I will get the black friday prices. Anyone know?

I don't really know, but I bet Debbie might. My guess is that Black Friday prices are only honored on Black Friday. Most stores stick to that policy especially on the 5 hours only etc sales. Many have limited numbers of items too.
