DDA Chapter 23

It is almost 6:30 and we haven't had anyone here yet tonight. Glad I didn't spend a lot of money on treats!

Erin brought over about 25 Chick-fil-a PEZ dispensers and we still have 2 left so we didn't have many either. Crazy as the night was a great night! Nice temps and (finally!) no rain.

Happy Birthday Christopher!

Channon - I believe that's the cutest Tigger I've ever seen!

We had tons of TOT's, we actually ran out of candy, and that's never happened before.

Ditto, Chanon! Very cute!

Cute pics, Debbie!

Congrats to Alex, Lynn!!

We had a good night of trick or treating. Kassie bailed about 1/3 of the way through, Terra bailed a little over 1/2 way through and Connor bailed about 2/3 of the way through. Kaylin and Chase were still going strong..."I wanna go the next light!" All of them ended up with more than enough candy so that was fine. Terra has about 15 keepers and the rest she gave to Phil and set aside for The Great Pumpkin. Speaking of which, I had better figure out where I put her book from "him". I think it's in the closet, but it's akward enough that I need to get it out before she goes to bed.

Debbie-cute photos! Nice to hear about the CT but how frustrating that the first Dr didn't give you the antibiotics when you first went.

Tammi & Lynn-hope you boys had great games today!

Lynn-great photos!

Chanon-you're little Tigger is so adorable!!!!!

Elizabeth-:hug:how frustrating! Hope he's sees the light soon!

Elin-congrats on Cirque tickets. Perhaps I should look into that AP discount.

Tia-the party sounds like a success!

Vicki-hope you can work something out for Feb/Mar. Sounds like you could really use a vacation!

DH thinks we had about I was out 60 kids. I was out with the kids. It was very mild-Emma & Joe must have been hot in their costumes. We are on a little dirt rode off a "regular" sized neighborhood street. Some folks in our neighborhood must have seen hundreds of kids if we got 60. The houses on either side of us weren't home so I bet lots of people skip us. Lots of folks here get together with their neighbors and set up tables in their front lawns and make a party of it. One house had a cotton candy machine-I even tried some to that-so good fresh off the machine!

Lizzy just told me she's got a big math project due Monday that she hasn't started, she's got a different math project where she had to graph what kind of candy she got tonight also due Monday and a paper she has to type due Monday. She didn't think to tell me this morning and do any of it today.:headache:

Sounds like she's got her work cut out for her tomorrow! Hope it goes smoothly.

That was on my list too! Since the nuggets are coming now, I told Terra I'd just make them tomorrow. I'd prefer the easy of heating the nuggets now. I'm tired! ;)

Smart idea! It took a lot longer for me to do the mummies than I had planned for. Oh well, they were cute and the kids ate them happily!

Well, it's 9:40, and we haven't had a trick or treater since 9:15 so I think it's safe to say we're done for another night. All in all, we ended up with quite a few kids! I had 3 large Tupperware bowls full of candy when the evening started, and now I only have 1 left. Better to have too much than too few.

Debbie - Your grandkids are so cute!!!!!

Deb - Great job on the costumes, as usual! I'm sorry you got rained on. We were supposed to get rain, but it ended up being a sunny, warm day. Go figure, huh?

Kristine - Good luck on the frugal thing. I'm still trying to figure out the coupon thing. I just don't seem to get the deals that others do. I was behind a woman at the grocery store earlier this week, and she had coupons, and was price matching, and ended up saving 50 dollars off her final price. Not too shabby. I guess if I actually used the ads that clog my mailbox, I could price match too. I'm just so afraid that the cashier will tell me I'm lying when I try.

Well, since Elizabeth hasn't mentioned it, don't forget to say "rabbit rabbit" tonight and tomorrow! Also, don't forget to re-set your clocks tonight!

That's what I was afraid would happen. After all of the party prep I wasn't ready for pizzas that took me too long to make. I'll do them tomorrow or Monday when it's not quite so busy. Terra will still love it.

after having a TON of trick or treaters last year...I went out and got giant pixy sticks and suckers....and we got no trick or treaters!! I like Pixy Sticks but had I known we weren't going to get any TOT'ers I would have gotten chocolate and lots of it!!:lmao:

We did end up with three TOT'ers

My friend Rianda and I went to a movie since my girls each had their own sleepover that they went to tonight and I don't think I could have stood being alone with Jim for that long. We saw Astro Boy and I must say I thought it was very good!

I ended up having to go to ARC this afternoon as 1 of the last 3 pairs of pants I wear tore through the seat. I tried 17 pairs of pants/jeans on....4 were :confused3 and one fit perfectly. I ended up with those jeans and one of the eh's. I did find a pair of Nick & Norah pj's (we saw them a couple of Christmases ago...$100:scared1:) brand new with tags and picked it up for $5 for Cassidy.:woohoo: Cassidy is having the same problem as me .....her stuff is all wearing too thin. ARC on a Saturday is a marvelous thing!!

Good morning. :)

Thanks for all the good wishes, but Nicholas' team lost yesterday. They did play a tough game though. Two weeks ago this team beat them 26-0. Yesterday the score was 6-0, so they did play a lot better. Lots of boys were heartbroken, but that's the way it goes in sports.

Chanon - what a cute picture. It really made me smile and say "Awwwww."

Debbie - I'm glad the CT was nothing but I agree, it would have been nice to start treatment much earlier. Cute pictures too!

Lynn - I'm glad that Alex won. Congrats! Everyone looks beautiful, and handsome ;), for Homecoming.

Tia - yay for a great party!

Elizabeth - I'm on board for the theater option too. I hope DS sees the light.

Kristine - Happy belated birthday to Christopher.

Nicholas and Alyssa were with their dad for TOT, but I did stop by to take some pictures of them. He's such an idiot. He went out and bought costumes for them. WITHOUT THEM. Just decided what they would be. Alyssa wasn't happy with hers but made the best of it. She wanted to be Ariel or Mary Poppins. Nicholas loved his, but his father should have known that the kid can't stand to have a mask on. The ONLY time he wore it was for the 2 seconds it took for me to take their picture.

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

It's that most wonderful time of the year!

Good morning!
I was up entirely too late watching baseball, again! But today we have football and baseball--its a good Sunday!!! My brother is going to the World Series tonight so I hpoe he has a good time!
I go to Dallas THIS MONTH!

you guy's are like the energizer bunnies, just going and going and going. Hope everyone had a safe and Happy Halloween. It was exciting around here as I got to carve pumpkin's on a local TV show. Good Morning Texas Mya and Aidan looked great last night and it's just amazing how "normal" the two of them live life.

They enjoyed trick or treating at just a few houses and then we went home, played with dry ice and handed out candy. Mya will be 7 on Friday the 13th and will be playing a part in Dallas Childrens Theater's showing of "The Best Christmas Pagent Ever." Aidan will be going to Pre-School in the Spring. They are growing up fast. Just thought I would check in.

Lynn, the pictures were great!

Awwww Chanon! So cute!

Good luck reasoning with DH Elizabeth.

Elin, I like your reasoning.

Tia, congrats on a great party.

Vicki, go see that movie! I have been having so much stress at work, I haven't even scratched the surface here on the thread. And I know you have too. This movie was such a nice way to de-stress. I didn't even have popcorn, I was so absorbed in the movie. You and Chuck will love it. Promise.

Deb, I think that is $15 well spent!

Debbie... adorable!!

Cute pictures Tammi.

MAC!!!! So good to see you!! The picture is just wonderful I can't believe the kids have grown so much! Congratualtions on all of their accomlishments.

We go to Disney next month!!!

Good morning DDA :)

Love all the Halloween pictures & Mac it is so good to hear from you!

Had a great time last night, but I drank just a little bit to much :rolleyes1

Garrett took this picture before we headed out, Gary has the rest on his camera.

Sorry for Nick's team. What an improvement though! I hope they had a fun night even with Alyssa's costume wasn't what she wanted. (crazy dad!)

Wow, what an update from your house! Sounds like things have been going really well at your house! Your pumpkins are amazing as always. How fun to get to do it on TV! That was a great clip. Happy early birthday to Miss Mya and congrats on her play part. I'll bet she's loving it. Aidan is just so big. I can't hardly believe it. Preschool time already! Wow. Check in as often as you can. We love to see you!

Well, I guess I'd better go get dressed. I told Terra she needed to be dressed by the time Imagination Movers started so I guess I'd better do so as well. We're headed to Six Flags after church so that will be fun. We've tried all month to get there one last time, but between rain and busyness, haven't made it. So, today it is.

Have a great Sunday everyone!

Happy November!!!

Tammi - Cute kids, as always, even though the costumes were not exactly right. Tell Alyssa that she looked very regal, just like a "real" princess. I'm with Nicholas. I can't stand masks covering my face, either!

Mac - Your kids are TOO ADORABLE!!! I can't believe how big they are. Where does the time go????

Janet - Great picture. Glad you had a good time, and have a Sunday to recover from it.

Tia - Enjoy six flags! I don't think I could handle that today. Last night ended up being pretty busy, and I'm wiped!

Today is a fairly relaxing day. We have church at 11:00, and then we're home for the day. I've got to finish one chapter of anatomy and take a quiz, and then I can study for the final. I'm hoping to take the final tomorrow night after the kids are in bed. Once that's done, I'll take the coding class and be certified and eligible to work. With things as tight as they are right now, it will be nice to have some extra money coming in.

Have a great day, everyone!

It's wonderful to hear from you. The kids are beautiful and wow have they grown. It's great to hear that there is a normalcy in your world these days, it must be a nice change

Debbie wonderful pictures
Tammi, great pictures of your kids too. Tell Alyssa that I'm sure in the real world Princess are forced to wear gowns that they simply wouldn't choose themselves so she did the royal thing to wear it :thumbsup2

Janet Gary and yourself looked wonderful. I'm glad you had a good time.

I am so enjoying all the pictures, it wonderful to get a snapshot of everyones life on the same day. I'm always struck by how quickly the kids and adults change.

I forget that all stores aren't all over the place. ARC (Association for Retarded Citizens) has stores that are like Goodwill or Savers. We just happen to have one that opened up near the upper class section of our town so it has some primo stuff, from near new cuff boots for $2, the pj's for Cassidy and Abi picked up a pair of more than likely brand new pair for herself (Victoria Secret) for $7. Every Saturday all but 1/5 of the store is half price(the newest donations).

Tammi and everybody else!! the kiddos sure looked great (Janet you and Gary looked great also). I am sorry for Nicholas's team and I am really sorry that your ex is such a doofus (at least the costumes fit!!)

Mac!! So glad to "see" you!!
