DDA Chapter 23

I still have lots of finishing touches on our Halloween costumes, but I wanted to give you an update...

First of all, thank you so much for your prayers!

Kevin was as cool as a cucumber (how in the world did he get shingles with such a calm demeanor?!!), but I was a stressed-out mess. The Level II ultrasound lasted about an hour, and it seems that though a choroid plexus cyst is still present on Samuel's little head, the doctor could not link it to any other issue (spinal, heart, hand and feet look good (a factor in Trisomy 18), etc.). Of course, without an amnio, doctors can't rule out everything, but the doctor was confident that the remaining cyst is going to dissolve before birth and baby Sammy should be just fine. He's already a very active little guy!

Kevin is still on the mend. He's still experiencing quite a bit of pain, and he wishes there was an "end" in sight, but hopefully rest will continue to help him heal. We leave for WDW two weeks from today!

Again, thank you so much for your support!

Happy Halloween to all!
Amy :)

I'm glad things are looking up. I hope you can find some peace of mind now and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy (if that is even possible )

I'm off to pick up Nick and hopefully I'll get his zombie makeup to work out. I hate the unknown and this is definitely unknown territory for me.

Deb I know you will do a fantastic job :thumbsup2 Look forward to pictures!

Amy, I am so happy to hear that the ultrasound results are good! :yay::woohoo:

I decided for the sake of my sanity not to go out to get ingredients for my bake sale fare. I made extra large chocolate chip cookies with Halloween M&Ms. I'm sure that there will be an overabundance of creative baked goods anyway.

Amy and Kevin - the US results sound very good! :)

Deb - good luck with the makeup

Elin, with the 102 section, you might be lower than the stage. section 206 would be fine.

Getting ready to call it a day. I hope everyone has a great weekend and a safe Halloween.

I will check in over the weekend.

Lynn

Hi all!

Amy - I'm so glad that things looked good at the ultrasound!

Deb - Good luck with the makeup. Terra has added the word "princess" to her witch costume so I'm trying to find some orange face makeup to do a little glittery make up for (like the eye designs at WDW). We'll see if that happens.

I took Chick-fil-a gift cards and cards to the mall workers who helped me today. I've got a cake in the oven and some cookies in line for it next. Otherwise, we're pretty ready to go for tomorrow! :woohoo: A little easy snacks to go and we'll be set. (Deb - love your Cakester spider idea! Would have used that if I'd seen it earlier.)

Everyone should be over for chili and to carve pumpkins pretty soon so I guess I'd better go finish getting the kitchen ready. Have a good night everyone!

I am deep cleaning my refrigerator....what an unpleasant task! I go over it with a teeny brush...this annoys Bill greatly. :rotfl2:

Will you come clean mine??? I need to deep clean before I start filling it with Thanksgiving and Christmas stuff. Maybe I'll work on it next week, if you can't come help me out.

Kirsten loves Peeps....not to eat. But to play with. She gets attached to them. I have to sneak in at some point and throw them out when they start to crumble & decay.

One year Bill ate one of her friends....she didn't talk to him for a day

We like to make peeps s'mores. Place some chocolate on a graham cracker, then a peep on top of that. Place it in the microwave and cook it until it puffs up really big. Smush it down with another cracker. Eat and enjoy!

Well, I better start attaching Smarties to my pants for the party tonight. Also got to attach Dum Dum's to Alan's shirt. Does anyone have any good ideas for attaching them? I was going to use tape, but I think that might give out after a while. Could I use hot glue without it hurting our clothes? Any other ideas???

Ha ha, cute idea! Good luck attaching them.

I would think double stick tape might be the best. Hot glue probably would do damage in the pull-off.

Well, I've got a cake baked for the graveyard cakes (complete with Haunted Mansion tombstones!), cookies baked for worm burgers, and the most wonderfully swampy green looking punch base mixed up! Now if we could just get the pumpkins carved. Everyone's been here for as much as 3 hours and the pumpkins haven't even made it in the house yet. We did get to enjoy yummy chili though!

a Mutsu apple. Light geen in color with some yellow/orange possible, snowwhite inside, slightly sweet and juicy.

I would have sewn them on with a couple of stitches, but I'm sure you've already done it by now. Hope you had fun.

We are home. The boys had fun and their costumes looked great:goodvibes Nick was a character in the Haunted Hayride and had a goodtime. Colby did the activities and is very sad that he didn't win in the costume contest. Logan wore the costume that Colby did last year, minus the casket and he won scariest. That is 3 times that costume won at the same contest :confused3 We used spirit gum to attach Colby's prostetic snout and when we took it off he has a very red outline, must be a minor chemical burn. Nick is not liking the removal of all his latex, very very painful. :headache: I'll try to post pictures later. Hunter ended up wearing a trench coat and hat (Spy ;)) I didn't get any pictures and then he managed to get ink all over himself so that costume is going straight into the trash.

Here's some long overdue photos
