Good morning. :)

Janet - I'm glad everyone is okay.

Vicki - :wizard: for Becky.

The DIS is wonky for me... Posts are missing. I was on here last night and then earlier this morning and the postings from Janet and Vicki were not there at all!

And, Bernadette - the post about the AP pincode was under Beth's user name! I am not kidding. I went back and double checked!

I have shut down the computer, done a scan (nothing found) and restarted Firefox, so hopefully it is taken care of now.

Meanwhile... Janet - I am glad to hear that your niece and her precious cargo are OK, and Vicki - I am hoping for Katrina's homecoming. I am glad she is learning about this guy's true colors now, not later..

Vicki
The cricut cartridges are buy 1 get 1 free in the Joann's flyer. The sale starts on Sunday.

I will have to check that out. I was online last night trying to get a list together for the family on the ones that I want.

I showed Chuck info on the negative/slide to digital converter they have at Walmart. I have kept every negative from every picture I have taken over the last 40+ years. My mom has all of hers as well. That would be so much nicer than having to scan all the pictures themselves. I just hope that the quality is as good or better.

Is anyone on here able to put a castle in the background of this picture?

I hate when my girls are crying and I can't hug them and tell them everything will be alright. Katrina just called. Her car won't start. She had planned on coming home this afternoon. Her boyfriend rigged something up to the alternator last week-end when they went to Chicago so they could have outlets in the car. He disconnected it last night. Surprise, surprise. Now the car won't start. She told him not to rig the outlets. I don't know what all else happened last week-end but obviously he did a bunch of stuff despite her not wanting it done.

When she hung up with me, she was crying saying this was the absolute last resort. She just can't take it anymore. I told her to call Chuck at work to see if he had any ideas on how to get the car going. I suspect that Chuck and I may be driving to Marquette today to pick her up with or without her car.

Thanks. However, it is Katrina this time (not Becky). Though, give me an hour or two and it could be Becky. She is my drama queen! Up one minute and down the next.

:wizard: I hope you get her home today

Vicki - I hope you can get Katrina back with you very soon.

After much insistence from Katrina, her boyfriend rigged the outlet thing back up to the alternator. Guess what? The car starts just fine. Even though, he assured her that wasn't the problem. I try to remember he is a nice guy just very, very selfish. I don't want my daughter ending up with him. He won't change. If he hasn't in 4 years, it isn't going to happen now.

Sorry!

I hope I didn't just jinx Becky!

Lots of :wizard: for you, Chuck and Katrina as you work through everything.

Okay quick question.
Does anyone have a laminater? If so where did you get yours and are their different brands? I was thinking of getting one for Christmas. Their are some cute design ideas on the boards. Especially the paper dolls. I was thinking of laminating them and then using Velcro to hold the outfits on. They also have some cute travel games and laving cards. Laminating them would make them sturdier for Virginia and would make the games reusable.

I was thinking the same thing if my girls were earlier or I had grandchildren. I'm trying to figure out creative stuff to be doing in the evenings so I'm doing something more than working in Lansing.

I don't think it is possible to jinx Becky when it comes to that. She truly is a drama queen. She has had 3 boyfriends that were "The One" in the last year. It does seem like maybe for once she is going a little slower with the current one. They have been dating a month and she doesn't seem to be quite so over the top about it. I'm not sure if she found a better one or whether she is just finally maturing a little.

I'm off to the grocery store. Chuck and I are going to make some home made pies today. I think I'm going to make some of my homemade Shrimp Chowder and some Bruschetta as well. I feel like spending some time in the kitchen. It is especially fun with Chuck.

Small vent. The phone just rang. I answered.

Me: Hello
Her: Hello?
Me: Hello?
Her: Hello?
Now I'm annoyed.
Her: Can I speak with Nick?
Me: No, he's not here. Who's calling?
Her: Ok.
Me: Who is this?
Her: This is Nick's friend.
Really? More annoyed.
Me: What is your name?
Her: This is XXXXX.
Me: Ok. He won't be back until tomorrow night.
Her: Ok. Click.

Is it me? Am I too hard on kids? Do I expect too much from them? Is it too much for kids to learn how to talk on the phone before they use it?

Amy- :wizard::hug: to you. Hopefully it ends up being nothing with Samuel. Hope Kevin is feeling better.

Janet- Glad your niece and her baby are OK. When I was in college my friend Mindy, was in a nasty car accident when she was about 8 months pregnant with Nicholas. Both Mom and baby had no issues, he is now a healthy 7 year old.

I am taking advantage of the fact that things were canceled and rescheduled due to rain and snow and slept more then 4 hours at a time. Plus I hope to actually attempt to tackle some of the accumulated mess around here.

I do feel bad for the fundraising walks that had to change plans. The women's classic 5k, held their event in the rain, but I can only imagine how cold and soggy it must have been. The Breast Cancer 3 day for this weekend, is only having their event on Sunday due to the crappy weather. But some teams took up walking laps at a local mall for Friday and Saturday, and then will go outside on Sunday to complete the walk.

Have a fantastic weekend!:thumbsup2

My kids are horrible on the phone. They will answer questions with a short answer, but cannot carryon a conversation. I've worked with them and they just can't manage it. I can't even blame it on texting or email as they don't do either of those :confused3

My oldest decided that he simply cannot wear a warm jacket as his jackets aren't "cool". This led to a not so happy me this morning. I ended up taking him shopping to pick out a "cool" jacket that he would wear without me forcing him. After 2 stores and I don't know how many no ways on my part we did find a sherpa lined sweatshirt that he says he will wear. We also found him a pair of jeans after he tried on at least a dozen pair. What happened to my easy to please boy?

Perhaps he ran off with Anne Marie's Katie. :confused3

I have a laminator, it is similar to this one. I got it a few years ago on Black Friday for free after rebate. The one I have takes things up to 9 inches wide and is run by electricity and uses laminating pouches.

I know that Xyron has a few styles that do not require electricity. Some of their models you can get laminating paper that has magnetic or sticky backs. You can get these at Michael's, AC Moore, or Jo Anne's with their % off coupons. Or they put them on sale from time to time.
