John went out on the porch last night to unplug a Halloween decoration and just on the outside of our deck stood an 800 lb. black bear. He ignored John and stole our garbage bag.

That is the second time a bear has been that close since we moved here.

for some reason the bears in Colorado have decided that hoity toity towns aren't just for the celebs this summer:rotfl2:More and more came out of the woods. My favorite was the one who went in for 2 nights in a row through the sliding glass doors into the kitchen and sat down at the table..

I am glad it was just a garbage bag looker

Elizabeth - what's going on with that fool in Dallas?

Tammi,,,,one of the girls here has a D&B bag in the same style and size of the middle size but a different design. She says there are no pockets or compartments inside. Only a slot like thing you could slide in a credit card or something like that.
She is going to bring hers in just so I can see the size a little better and also the material they use for that purse. Only the strap and little details are real leather, the actual body is not but it can be wiped clean if necessary.

If I got one, it would be only for going out, not necessarily to use all of the time.

Well it's official, my youngest DD has signed the apartment lease with her DBF they will be moving in the of the month. Bring on the paint, it's time to redecorate, I will now have three bedrooms and the half bath to do.

Welcome home Elin!

Yay for costumes Anne Marie, we saw quite an assortment at the Halloween party, I think my favorites were Roger and Jessica Rabbit.

Just a quick pop in to let you all know that I'm alive. I'm living in leaf peeper pergatory. Between long hours at the restaurant, being locked out of the Aquatic Center twice this week, teachers sending home midterm grades before actually updating grades  and the general things that pile up, it has been a bit of a stressful week. Thankfully we are going to Six Flags tomorrow so I'll have a day of peace.:thumbsup2

Here is something to think about... by MAYA ANGELOU

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ...

enough money within her control to move out
and rent a place of her own,
even if she never wants to or needs to...
something perfect to wear if the employer,
or date of her dreams wants to see her in an hour...

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..

a youth she's content to leave behind....
a past juicy enough that she's looking forward to
retelling it in her old age....
a set of screwdrivers, a cordless drill, and a black lace bra...
one friend who always makes her laugh... and one who lets her cry....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ........

a good piece of furniture not previously owned by anyone else in her family...
eight matching plates, wine glasses with stems,
and a recipe for a meal,
that will make her guests feel honored....

A WOMAN SHOULD HAVE ..

a feeling of control over her destiny...
how to fall in love without losing herself..

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....

how to quit a job,
break up with a lover,
and confront a friend without;
ruining the friendship....

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW....

when to try harder... and WHEN TO WALK AWAY...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

that she can't change the length of her calves,
the width of her hips, or the nature of her parents..
that her childhood may not have been perfect....but it's over....

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

what she would and wouldn't do for love or more....
how to live alone.... even if she doesn't like it...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW.. .

whom she can trust,
whom she can't,
and why she shouldn't take it personally...

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

where to go...
be it to her best friend's kitchen table..
or a charming Inn in the woods...
when her soul needs soothing....

EVERY WOMAN SHOULD KNOW...

What she can and can't accomplish in a day...
a month...and a year...

:scared1:

So am I.

Today at K Mart (which by the way I hate) my sister walked pass a display of paper towels and a little box hanging on the shelf came on. The woman said that if I didn't want to hear about the paper towels to just push the button (sort of daring you to push the button) well I pushed it. Told Dawn that I said, please lady if you would meet my mom I not afraid of you.

Jennifer-hope you recover quickly!

Deb-have a great day tomorrow!

Heidi-Yikes about the bear!

Marci-congrats on the bag!

Anne Marie-glad the costumes have arrived. I need to get going on mine!

Elizabeth did you go out for breakfast?

I got my flu shot today. Had to wait for over an hour-at work-I don't know if they did a bad job scheduling, if folks didn't follow the schedule or if one of the nurses was a dud. There were 2 nurses and the one who gave me my shot was doing at least twice as many at the other. Anyways it is done and this year they did family members for free so DH came and got one too-he always does but we usually have to pay for him.

I'm ready for a 3 day weekend!

Yikes! I would so be packing to move!!!

Bernadette - We went to IHOP. At breakfast I noticed DS's glasses were crooked on his face, so I took him to Lenscrafters to have them adjusted. Then we went to Nordstrom and bought him a pair of pants. I don't love the pants, but they will do. Temps in the 50's all day today, he won't be able to wear shorts to school much longer.

I picked Princess up from school and took her to ballet, then her grandparents took her home. :)

Ooh Elizabeth grandparents, will princess be a bear once she has to start listening to you again once they all go home?

Welcome home Elin! Glad you had a good time but sorry the trip is over :guilty:
