We had a frost last night.
We did? :scared1: I don't know these things now that I don't have a doggie to let out at the buttcrack of dawn! I still have some plants out on my screened porch. I wonder if they are dead. :confused3

Hey all, if one day I disappear don't blame me, I have been having trouble getting on the DIS YET AGAIN!! :headache:

Poor Hunter, hope he was able to get some sleep last night.

Janet I hope all the extra sleep helped Gary and that he is feeling better soon. :wizard:

Deb glad to hear Hunter is doing better today & congratulations on being published! I am no longer subscribed though :guilty:

Glynis glad you all had a good time except for the sickies. Hope you are all back to 100% soon :wizard:

Gary is still under the weather, he went to work though. I told him he should call in & rest, but as usual he is being stubborn ;)

Hunter and I are hanging out planning our vacation next summer. We are thinking that we might be able to sneak in a skydive experience for Chris while in florida. He would NEVER expect it then. We may be able to do it in Miami either the day before the cruise or the day we get off the ship. It might be hard to make it from Orlando to Miami in time for him to jump the day before as I think that drive will take much longer then the 4 hrs 11 minutes that mapquest is showing. I think it took about 7 hours last time we made the drive due to traffic jams. It is a different route though :confused3 My issue with doing it the day we return is that my parents will be flying home, but I'm not sure when or from which airport :confused3 I guess we'll have to wait several months for plans to meld.

Thanks for all the well wishes. Hunter slept well last night, me not so much. Of course I was worried about him and I set my alarm to keep his meds on schedule. I'm sure we'll both take a nap later, but I'm relieved that he seems to be doing better than I had expected. Our goal is to try to cut him back to just Tylenol and Advil this afternoon. We want to eliminate the codeine as soon as we can and he is onboard with it :thumbsup2 I'll probably give him a codeine at bedtime though just to keep him comfortable. We all move at night and that would be oh so painful for him. I'm amazed at how well he is able to get up now, yesterday it was a very long process for him to even sit up. I think it may have been more fear then anything, but he seems to have figured out what moves he can make and what to avoid.

I'm not sure how we will deal with school. The kids are always carrying books and backpacks and that isn't going to be possible for a while. Maybe his teacher can give him a helper?

I'm glad to hear that Hunter is so resilient! I hope that it heals quickly and that you both sleep well tonight.

Well,we're back from dad's and we had a really nice visit. My sister and her family were there as well, so that was fun for everyone! We saw 3 great shows (The Complete Works of William Shakespeare, Abridged, Tuesdays with Maury, and The Woman in Black), met up with some dear friends from college, and did some major clothes shopping with Grandpa! Katie is now outfitted for the rest of the year!

We also spent some time looking at ancient Indian rock art, and the kids found a giant rattlesnake skin. It came home with us (yuck!). Katie also found an arrowhead, and some pottery shards. We left those where they were, after taking pictures, since it's against the law to bring them home. The twins were sad that they didn't find anything really cool, so they had to hunt until they found some old deer and rabbit bones. I'm happy to say that those didn't make it back to our house!

The only downside to the weekend, was the gastrointestinal bug that swept through most everyone! It was nasty!!! I felt fortunate that the twins and I didn't come down with it. However, yesterday, Mary was down, and I got it late yesterday afternoon. I'm still feeling a bit icky, but at least I was able to get out of bed.

I'll be able to take it kind of easy today, after I run a few errands. Then I'll rest until Katie's orchestra concert tonight at 7:00.

It sounds like a wonderful trip (except for the stomach virus)!

Laura has an orchestra concert tonight at 7:00 also. Of course, our 7:00 is a little earlier than your 7:00. Laura also has a cross country meet this afternoon. She doesn't run until 5:30, and the meet is about 40 minutes away from our high school (where the concert is). We are going to be cutting it extremely close! I sure hope that there isn't any traffic.

Isn't it amazing how resilient our kids are?

I'm sure a friend of his can help him during school. When I was in college I broke my ankle. I was so concerned about having to hobble around on crutches all over campus. I was still living in the dorm at the time and the biggest hurdle for me was meal time in the cafeteria. I always had to make sure to eat with a friend so they could carry my tray for me! :rotfl:

It's funny that we used the same word. Must be that DDA brain sharing again. :rotfl:

I agree that a friend will step up to help (or the teacher can assign a helper). That used to be a big privilege in school. It was even better at the high school, because you could use the elevator and often got to leave class a couple of minutes early to avoid the rush in the hallway.

H1N1 is getting closer to home. The grandmother of one of my 3's called in today to say that his mother and sister were diagnosed with H1N1. They decided to keep him home as well as a precaution. :worship: We haven't seen him since Thursday, and he and his mother seemed fine then.

Good luck with the driving! I'm just glad I don't have anything conflicting. It's hard enough with just me, since Alan works late each night. Oh well, we do these things for our kids, right?

I just got a phone call from my dad that has me green with envy! One of the members of his board of directors is the head of shows/productions at Disneyland. He called Dad yesterday and mentioned that there were some new things happening at DL that dad might be interested in. Before you could say "Bob's your uncle", my dad, and several of his colleagues/friends have decided to go to Disneyland.... TODAY! That's right. They left early this morning, and will arrive at DL by 3:00 this afternoon. They are being given VIP passes to the Halloween party tonight. However, the best part is tomorrow. They will spend the day at Dl, and then in the evening, as the park closes, they will get to stay in the park. Once the park closes, they will be able to watch the rehearsals for the new electrical parade, and they will get to see the new flowers, etc. being installed.

This is so cool for my dad! I'm happy that he gets to go, but jealous that I can't go too!!!

My hanging baskets aren't dead, so I hope yours aren't gone either!

I seem to have a ladybug infestation, luckily its outside.

That sounds like a wonderful opportunity for your Dad, Glynis. I am so glad he had the chance to go!

Here too....but I have found a dozen or so wondering in the house. I spent all this time using an index card to scoop them up and put them out side. An hour later I hear all this toilet flushing....that would be Bill committing ladybug murder!

I seem to have a ladybug infestation, luckily its outside.
