DDA Chapter 22

Tammi,

Thanks for the link on the Fantasyland rumors. Interesting!!!!

Kevin shared those with me a while back. No Toontown would mean no Minnie's chair for Alyssa's "growth" pictures. I can't say we've consistently photographed her anywhere else to change that tradition. :sad1:

I got my return flights, at a good price too!

I was looking at the refurb rumors. My kids are going to be mad. It looks like CP will be closed for Jan/Feb. Maybe it won't close until after Jan. 6.
Congrats on the flights. Do you Crystal Palace????? Please say you mean something else!!! I can't remember the last time I haven't done CP on a trip. I wonder if they will open something else up for breakfast like Tony's. There is NO way Emma would do CRT.:rotfl:

Elizabeth - I need a wish action that doesn't involve remembering something. Got any of those? I can barely remember the night version when you post it right before I got to bed, let alone remember to speak again in the morning. ;)
Duck tape your mouth shut with the words rabbit rabbit written on the duck tape with a sharpie!:rotfl2:

I made it through the funeral. They had asked for people to speak and it was all men....I couldn't not speak...she is my first close friend that has passed away..which is why I think it's hitting me harder than it might have usually. Suzann loved all of the same authors and tv shows so we never ran out of things to talk about. What a glorious spirit!!

Anyone care to cast a vote for place over another?
Well....you asked....how about ESPN? 50's or Mama's works for us!

We are getting called off so fast, nobody has PTO. We earn 1 day (12hrs) PTO per month. I was out 4 weeks from July to Aug (had precancerous growth removed from my hand), and had no PTO. Only got 2 weeks of STD. It was not good.
OUCH!!! That doesn't sound fun!

Thanks!

I haven't really had a chance to look at them very closely. When I do I will let you know how they compare to last year's hours, Jennifer.
I missed Jennifer's post but I'll use a Color Coded Matrix from December 06 to create my Dec 09 version and let you know how close.

DH and DS would balk at tea, unfortunately.
We are already doing signature dinners. If they had to look nice for lunch it might cause a mutiny! :rotfl2:
Well.....Ralph would love the tea-we went in November once and the chef was putting the chimneys on the ginger bread house. Ralph walked up to the guy (who I've seen on TV) with a plastic fork and asked for a sample. The chef had his assistant bring the 4 of us each a chocolated coated roof shingle.

We didn't get too dressed-shorts & polo shirts and didn't feel out of place.

I do however think something in the MGM/Epcot area would work better.

I think I am leaning towards Mama Melrose based mostly on location and partly on menu.

We'll go with the majority, looking at the menu for MM I think I would have a hard time feeding Mr. Picky eater, I often get a headache trying to figure out where we can go that he will eat and I can make do with my restrictions too, :headache::headache::headache:

Has anyone considered Captain's Grille at Yacht Club?

I know I can defriend....but he'd notice and it would take more energy to explain it to him then he is worth.

Theresa- I have not read through the whole thread, so if this is a repeat I apologize. Under settings, the privacy sections allows you to restrict who sees what and what they can access on your account without defriending them. Also you can restrict whether or not they can post on your wall. You can restrict a specific person(s). Or you can block them, I am not sure exactly what that does though.

Good luck and :wizard::hug: to you.

Yep, Crystal Palace. I *think* I read a rumor that LTT will serve bfast.

I am cool with whatever restaurant. :) I fear we may be restricted partly by availability. Since there are 14 of us we have to go through Group Dining. In the past when I have tried to book for large parties they wanted to give me an ADR when they first open, which won't work.

Bernadette, I guess just see what they have open for 14 people around 1:30? It might be easier to get into Captain's Grille since it's not in the park.

I vote for MM. I love that place!

The kids got their teacher postcards in the mail today and have been on the phone calling friends for the past hour. Nicholas isn't happy with his teacher and hasn't found anyone in his class yet. Alyssa got who she wanted but doesn't know who is in her class either. I guess we'll wait and find out at open house on Thursday.

Sounds good, 14 :cool1:

I'd vote for Mama Melrose just because I really really like the food and atmosphere at that restaurant. :teeth: BUT to toss some more into the mix, what about Fresh or Garden Grove at the Swan/Dolphin? If you do go to MM the lemon custard is HEAVEN!!!

Bob like's the boy votes. Anne Marie, we've been in the 140's for heartbeat. 38 week appointment is tomorrow; so we'll see if there is any progress then!

For the December travelers what dates are your trips?

What about Fresh at the Dolphin or Garden Grove at the Swan for your lunch? Or Big River Grille and Brewing works at the Boardwalk?

Another vote for Mama Melrose. I loved it there. I could also do Captain's Grille. The menu looks yummy. I could cross it off my bucket list.:goodvibes

Glad all is well! :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

I would prefer not to mess with the Swan/Dolphin because I use room charge for everything. I never carry cash around in the parks. And if anyone is using DDP credits we need to stick with Disney owned eateries.

I'll do my best.

Does ESPN do ADR's? They have beer by the pitcher.:drinking1 I went last August and thought the food we had (chowder, nachos, chili) was pretty good-maybe that was influenced by the beer and lack of children.

Hope Nicholas finds some friends!

Well.....I'm a party of 6 but you guys will LOVE my friends too! You met Dorinda & Ralph already right? But not Terry & Halley as they weren't there yet?

For the December travelers what dates are your trips?
Shall I make it a party of 15 on Saturday the 5th?

Dec 1 to 7 for my crew of 4 (Dorinda, Ralph, Lizzy & me) then Terry & Halley on the weekend.

Tammi - I like the addition to your ticker! :teeth:

Bernadette - ESPN doesn't take ADRs but I agree with the need for pitchers of beer... or wine or sangria or margaritas or... ;)

I got my new car at lunch. I have to say I'm liking it more than I thought I would. It is an adjustment from the big honking AWD mini van I was driving.

I'm really enjoying the satellite radio. I shouldn't have turned it on. I think I get it free for 30 days.....

I have to go finish Emma's dress for school tomorrow, iron Lizzy's skirt and make sure Joe has something that fits to wear....

I'll check back later to see if anyone has any other suggestions for the ADR but I think we'll be limited by availability.

Crap! :headache:
A crown just popped completely out of my mouth. The gold one that has only been in there about 2 years. I HATE dental stuff! HATE HATE HATE it!!! I think he can just cement the crown back in there - I didn't bite it or break it or anything. But I think the filling in the tooth in front of the crown is missing a chunk. It's amazing how much you can see if you stick a really bright book light in your mouth. Of course what I saw will mean a really expensive bill in my future. Crap. Crap, crap, crap.

Becky,,,Our dates on land are Dec 4 &5. Cruise Dec 6 to 10. Back on land Dec 10 to 12 for Stephanie. I am staying until Monday, Dec 14
