Janet & Lindsay!!!

Kristine - I am sorry Jackie is still struggling! At least the other 2 did OK today!

Anne Marie - Glad your 3 had good days! :)

DS brought home a supply list from Social Studies. Which is SO confusing to me. The kids are supposed to bring all this crap and LEAVE it in the classroom? So it can DISAPPEAR? I don't understand that. How many times will I have to RE-buy all this stuff? Bless her heart, this woman is a Princeton grad and used to teach at Hockaday (the very prestigious all girls school). I am not sure why she wants to be in a DISD middle school. Perhaps she has taken leave of her senses?

The science teacher told the kids that there are no lockers because of the drug problems, NOT because of anything else. Fabulous. Of course if the lockers aren't LOCKED there will still be kids hiding stuff in them.

We got a calendar today that says Open House is Sept. 15. In the same bundle was a flyer that says Open House is Sept. 3. Apparently they have taken a page from the Band Director's book on organizational skills. :rolleyes1 OK. Enough school. Is it summer yet?

Oh boy. The weekend we are going in January is marathon weekend, so I was searching on the TPAS board about crowds when I came upon a link to all the marathon information. On Friday the 8th there is a 5K Family Fun Run, which translates to 3 miles. I think I would die if I attempted it. I've NEVER been a runner. I HATE it. It is painful (side cramps) and I hate to SWEAT. But still, I'm intrigued, plus it would be something fun and different for the kids and I to do!

You could walk it easily Tammy. You don't have to run it. It really isn't difficult at all. As much walking as you do at Disney, you do that already and just don't realize it.

Theresa - continued  for you. :( I hope Abi has a better day tomorrow.

Kristine - poor Jackie... class and bus issues are not good in only two days at school.

Anne Marie - I am glad the kids (and you) had a first day of school.

Bernadette - Good luck with the car, phone and bedroom furniture decisions! You were busy today!

Bernadette - I bet my mother's cell phone is older than your DH's cell phone. ;)

DH doesn't want to upgrade his phone, either. He has an old model Motorola Razr. I am in the AT&T store the day I am eligible for upgrade. Of course that last upgrade was necessary after DS dropped my phone and pieces started falling off. :scared1: We thought DS's phone was dying a few months ago, so I will be happy if he makes it to October so he can get a new one. We were able to resurrect it by taking the battery out and then putting it back in, but he plays with the darn thing ALLLLL the time so it's a wonder it has made it this far.

We're back and we had a

Fabulous
Wonderful
Amazing
Perfect
Couldn't have been better

Vacation

The weather was phenominal, travel was completely on time with no hickups, the resort was gorgeous, the food was better than cruise ship food, alcohol was included. We would go again without a second thought. The kids did very well with my parents and apparently behaved perfectly. My mother wasn't worn out this time and has actually commented several times since we've been back that her house is entirely too quiet :goodvibes

I'm going to try to put together a slide show, but probably won't do a trip report.

This is wonderful! I'm so happy that you had such a great time!

Everybody I've been working on getting another DISer to come on over to our little corner of the world Camster0307.....I met her via one of her trip reports and have always thought she'd be a great fit over here. She's been a great friend even though I've never met her IRL...it's just like this batch of great people...part of a family.

Cammie has 2 beautiful daughters and is hilarious (though she likes The Office..that is where we have to agree to disagree). Her trip reports are great!!

She's asked if I would vouch for her over here...did I do okay??:confused3:rotfl:

Welcome Cammie! You have come to a quiet little corner of the world with quite a few great women and a couple of awesome men (who show up every blue moon). I can't wait to get to know more about you and have you join our circle of friends.

So I only have 2 more days at work this week as I took Friday off to get ready for the Bridal shower, which is on Saturday.

Lots to do at work. I have a night meeting the next two nights. PLus getting whatever stuff together for the shower for Saturday.

The week after is 4 1/2 days, the 4 day week, then an entire week off and then a 4 day week and then another 4 day week. I needed to take all my days off by the end of September.

Although all the time off may kick my butt when I get back. There are lots of things I am missing because I am taking the time off but I truly do not care. Some of them I contemplated going to anyways and then decided that I need to truly have the time off instead of working everyday I have off for a few hours. As it defeats the purpose of being off. I need to stick to that plan.

Hope you are all well. I am off to attempt to sleep, so I have energy for the rest of my week.

 I could not sleep at all last night...(thats not like me!) I am asleep before my head hits the pillow. Anyway the last time I looked at the clock it was 2:41am & I got up at 5:30am. Geeesh!! Not fair!

You did well. Where is she? :rotfl2:

I wanted to do my single digit dance, but my eyes are full of tears. R.I.P. Senator Kennedy.:littleangel::littleangel::littleangel:

After reading all the school horror stories here and on the CB, I can actually say I am glad I am not raising children in this day and age.

Hope things improve soon for all the kids.

Yes...RIP Ted Kennedy:hug:

The Aquatic Center is closed for 3 days. We have inservice training each day instead. Today and Tomorrow my Dad will watch the boys as my training is from 9 AM - Noon. Friday I'm not sure if I'll do the training or not since my Dad will be working too. I'll see how the first 2 training sessions goes. Since the training isn't offered during my normal hours they can't force me to go.
