Happy (belated) Anniversary, Deb and Chris! :)

Happy Anniversary Debbie and Richie! :)

And, thanks for all of our anniversary wishes on FB. We had a great weekend. :goodvibes

I think we're going to put the BBQ off for a few more years yet...I'd like to go when all the kids can dance with the characters, though by that point, the meal will put us in the poor house. Thanks for commenting Bernadette and Elizabeth.

My next question is, has anyone dined at the Big River Grill and Brewing Works? We're staying at the Boardwalk Villas, but I don't think I'm adventurous enough to eat Cat Cora's cuisine. ;)

Hope everyone has a great Monday! :wave2:

Happy belated anniversary to you and Kevin too :goodvibes

thanks for the dittoable.:goodvibes

Morning, everyone! I'm doing a quick check in before my day gets too hectic!

School starts here on August 20, so it's time for the annual "going through the clothes!" With four kids, I have to start early to spread the spending around. Yikes! Today, we'll go through Katie's clothes and make lists of what she needs. Then we'll move on to Jacob, then Leslie and lastly, Mary. Once we have all our lists, I take the kids out shopping one on one. They get to pick one outfit for the first day, and then we'll usually go by a thrift store or a consignment shop to pick up the rest of what they need a little more cheaply. Wish us luck!

Later today, I need to run to the library, and the grocery store. We are out of milk, bread, eggs and soap for the dishwasher. Since my sink is full, I really need to take care of that today! I also have the never ending pile of laundry that needs to be washed.

Better get to it! Talk to y'all later!

Thanks for the trip wishes everyone. I haven't been home on a weekend in over a month. That means I haven't packed... or kept up with my chosen family very well. The only portion of the trip I'm worried about forgetting something for is the cruise, as I can find good deals on most things while in WDW. The cruise, forget it. They know they have us and can charge whatever. I guess I'm mostly scared I'll forget toiletries or meds. I've decided I may need to take part of tomorrow off so that I have a better chance in getting most of what we need packed.

Have a good day everyone!

You get on the scale and see how much you weigh. Then lift the suitcase and see what you weigh now. The difference is what the bag weighs! :goodvibes

I can't lift the suitcase. :rotfl2: Really, I am not supposed to lift more than 30 lbs. because of my back. DH did try it that way and it came out to exactly 50. So it appears to be somewhere between 40-50 lbs. The problem is that if it is 51 lbs. it will cost another $50 on top of the $15 I will already have to pay. Unless the sky cap is willing to let it slide. :rolleyes1

I read on the AA website that your personal item and your carry-on are not supposed to exceed 40 lbs. PUT TOGETHER! :scared1: I am going to pretend I didn't read that.

The Free Dining General Public discount has been released through December 17.

I think this will ensure that we have trouble booking ADRs for our December trip. As long as you arrive by December 17, you can book a package as much as 10 nights. That means everyone will be looking for meals during the time that is most difficult to get them anyway and they will have a 2 day or more head start on us.

I'm sorry. I would be angry, too. I guess for us if we can't get four TS ADRs to use our credits I will modify back to a room-only ressie. Or we will just stay home! Not much possibility of that since I will probably have airfare prior to the 90 day mark, but it COULD happen.

Glynis - Good luck with the closets!

The cruise, forget it. They know they have us and can charge whatever. I guess I'm mostly scared I'll forget toiletries or meds.

People make fun of me when I pack all meds we may need---one time, i needed something and it was ridiculously expensive..i mean, you have no other choices but to buy on the ship!

Hi all!! I hate that the summer has left me with even less free time than before. The new pool, while great, makes me run ragged with the kids. In and out, in and out and so on. Our schedule is still jammed pack with stuff.

On top of the normal stuff, my surgery has been a nightmare. Lots of back and forth with the office in regards to scheduling. The date I was given won't work because my dr is still on vacation. Um, yeah, kind of difficult to operate from Texas! So I wait and pull my hair out in the meantime.

And then this morning, I got the news that my only 2 full time daycare kids have only 2 more weeks here. Why, because their mom got laid off on Friday. This economy SUCKS!! They are hoping to find something that will allow them to keep the boys here. But, in the meantime, Eric will start to look for a part time job. And then once my surgery is over and done with I will start looking for something. I am sure we will be fine, we always manage somehow.

So there you have it.

Marci - I have every faith that you will get everything done that you need to. :)

Elizabeth - since you are bound and determined to take everything with you that has already been packed, I would say you need to quit worrying about what the suitcases and carry-ons are going to cost. They will cost what they cost!

Robyn - I am sorry this is happening to you all too

Elin - If the big bag is over I can move stuff from that one to the Shoe Bag. But laying 2 big suitcases open on the sidewalk would be kind of embarrassing. :rolleyes1 ;) I still have time to make adjustments. Checking a 5th bag would be cheaper than paying the overweight fee, so I need to keep that in mind.

Robyn - I am sorry. Hopefully things will turn back around quickly!! :wizard:

I got a nasty surprise at the bank today. They used to not charge a fee for travelers checks. Now they charge 1.5%. Since AAA doesn't offer travelers checks anymore I just paid the fee. I need to remember that for next time. There must be other options.

Thanks everyone! We had errands to run this morning & now we are back. The kids are reading & playing so I can pack in peace. The camera battery is charging & so is the kids DS's for the car ride.

I am glad we are not flying because I pack like Elizabeth too.;)

Elin,
Wow, I can't believe they are doing FD up thru the holidays. I hope you get your adr's...makes me want to book another trip but thats not going to happen!

Marci,
Have a wonderful cruise!!!

Bernadette - DH says:
Do not delete your photos off of your camera. Load ALL of the images to the computer and then delete out the ones you don't want. He says when you delete them off the camera it corrupts the card? :confused3 Not sure if that matters, but it gives you something to try when you get your new memory card.

ooo never heard that..i always do that..oops hah

Jen - I know I have done that with the point & shoot. I don't touch his cameras. ;) He said it may not be an issue with Nikons, but it is with Olympus, which is what 3 of his 4 are.

me too, since the last one was not very fun for me

I think you should give us the details. Any trip that is bad enough to require a do-over needs to be explained. :rolleyes1

lets just say I was ready to strangle both my mother and nephew on multiple occasions. Part of it I think was he missed his daddy. He would wine about missing him a lot. A couple of times he winded about wanting his stroller. which we left parked at tea cups and walked over to pooh. Not sure how to explain the rest. He was probably being a typical 4 1/2 yr old boy with climbing on the rails of the lines, jumping out of his stroller while mom was pushing it. My mother I think was stressed about things at home and the way she was acting and not consitanly displining my nephew was getting on my nerves so I did not get to enjoy it much. We hardly saw any characters in the parks and I daw only one show mickeys philharmonic. Plus I never got my dole whip.:sad1:

NO whining! And Tea Cups to Pooh is not that far! :rotfl2:
I would have been aggravated, too. And then to get sick, too. :sad2: How many days did you have left when you started to feel ill? Hopefully it wasn't until the end!
