Good morning, DDA! I guess schedules are beginning to start up again. Laura had to leave for cross country practice at 7:30 this morning. I need to go pick up the carpool at 10:15. That will ease us into the morning school routine that no one is really looking forward to. Today is also one week before we have to take Matthew up to school.
We really want to see that, too! I think we have all the other Miyazaki movies on DVD now.
Sounds like a fun night!
I am so glad that you had a wonderful time!
It's coming up fast now! I hope that the weather is perfect (or at least beautiful) and that you have a very relaxing trip.
that everyone is better soon! I can't believe school is starting already.
Welcome back!
Beautiful pictures! I can't wait to see the ones from the new camera.
Thanks for sharing that! Job very well done (for both of you)! In my late teens I made my mom a cross stitch that said "Thanks for always taking the weeds with the flowers." I thought it summed it all up perfectly, and so did she.

That sounds like a lot of fun!
Welcome back, Debbie!
Have a great day! I don't need to set my classroom up for a couple of weeks yet. After the e-mail that the director sent today, I'm wondering if I need to set my classroom up at all. There are a couple of aide positions posted for the elementary school that I may just apply for (and probably not get). I'm sure that I'm overreacting to the e-mail, but I've just about had it with the way they are running that preschool. My new preschool motto is "POSITIVITY" but she's straining me today.
So as far as the aide position goes:
+ more regular job with set hours
- I'd have to leave the preschool kids who I really do love to work with
+ higher pay
- less "free" time
+ school vacations and snow days match with Miles and Laura
- less flexibility for Matthew's vacation times and getting him from school
+ one on one with special ed, means I'd be making a difference in that child's life
- do I really have the patience? I don't know exactly what I'd be doing
+ I could leave the crazy director and church board behind
- I'm sure there will be things about the school system and employees that drive me nuts, too
+ Aides are reassigned yearly, so even if my assignment isn't terrific, it's only 10 months
- I could get reassigned to a worse assignment next year, since it's done on seniority
+ I'd be known in the school system if something even better comes along
- I'd have to find something to do with Miles for about an hour every morning, because the school I'd work at starts much earlier than his.
+ I'd be done about an hour before him each day.
It looks pretty even. Maybe I should apply and see if I even need to worry about the negatives. My contract is written that I can leave the preschool with a month's notice, but I wouldn't want to leave after we start, so I don't know if this offer can even come soon enough.

We went to see Ponyo today. It was BEAUTIFUL!!!! Like all Miyazaki movies it is a bit "odd" but we all really enjoyed it. Some of my coworkers want to see it so I'm sure I'll see it again in the theater and I'm sure the kids will want it on DVD.
We really want to see that, too! I think we have all the other Miyazaki movies on DVD now.
I had a blast reconnecting with a friend I've known forever tonight...it was so good to go out and not have to worry about anything and talk about stuff nobody else would laugh about. She has always been in Colorado but she's hard to find....and I never thought to go up to her mom and say "where's Rianda?"(Rianda has had a couple of breakdowns where she has spent time hospitalized and not speaking to anyone...I never know when one's coming...though she hasn't had one in a long time it sounds like)>
Sounds like a fun night!
Well I do not have a trip report but here are a few observations.
Boardwalk Inn - Loved it. Concierge staff was nice. Rooms were beautiful. Performers on the BW was so much fun to watch. Bus service (only used to go to MK one day) was fast & BW is the first stop so we always had a seat. Boat to HS was good too BW is 1st stop so again we had a seat. Would stay there again.
Crowds - We were at the parks at rope drop & used FP so we did everything we wanted to & more. However the crowds did get to us at times. If it wasn't for school schedules I would not go in July.
Our birthday - We wore our birthday buttons & every CM wished us Happy Birthday! The piano man on man street even sang to us. We received candy & a banner in our room too. We had cupcakes given to us at Chef Mickeys, Ohana, & Liberty Tree Tavern. It was like being a kid again.
Best & Worst Restaurant - The best service & food was at Prime Time. We had a great server, Cousin Robert who was very funny. He tried to feed Katie a fork full of green beans, she was hyseterical laughing. The food was fresh & yummy....we love PT.
Worst was Raglan Road. This was our first meal of the trip. Our server was great but the food was terrible. Portions were small & the price was huge. Not worth it for us.
CM's - I have read on the DIS that some people think the CM's are not as friendly. However we only encountered CM's that were helpful, friendly, & Disney like. We chatted with many CM's & a few times got to see how they are treated by "guests". We saw one exchange at the GR in MK. I felt so bad for the CM & know they have to put up with alot.
Tour Groups - We got there on the tail end of the TG's so when we did see someone with a little flag we went the other way. One morning when Dana was going to TSM to get FP's, he noticed the woman next time him getting multiple FP's. He said what looked to be as much as 50 tickets or so. Thankfully he was not behind her.
We had a wonderful time.![]()
I am so glad that you had a wonderful time!
Good Morning
I've started packing the kids stuff to bring to my parent's house. I'm not sending much as they can come home if they need more and mom will wash anyway.
We are sticking odds and ends in our luggage as we go along. I think we might want to stick our rain jackets in the luggage since there are now 4 TDs on the horizonWe're just hoping to miss the bulk of it. Cancun in the rain sounds like much less fun.
It's coming up fast now! I hope that the weather is perfect (or at least beautiful) and that you have a very relaxing trip.
Hi, everyone! I'm just popping in to let you know that we're back from our week long camping trip. It was great to relax by the lake. Well, at least until Friday morning, when my family picked up the stomach bug that was traveling through the rest of Alan's extended family! Ugh! Let's just say, it was not a pretty ride home. We had 3 of the 5 kids throwing up on the 7 hour ride. Later that night, a 4th started, and by the next day, I was down with it! It looks like it's almost through us all, though. Mary is complaining of a tummy ache, and she's the last one. Hopefully we'll all be better by tomorrow!
Katie starts school on Wednesday, and the rest of the kids on Thursday, so I'm hopeful that once that happens, my life will calm down somewhat!
I know I've missed a ton! Could someone please let me know if anything important happened while I was gone? I didn't miss any babies, did I? Thanks.

Hello, DDA!![]()
Welcome back!
We've had an eventful day so far: Here's my facebook message:
PSA for the day.....when more than one person offers to call 911, it's time to call it in. If you are one of those offering DO IT!! even if they keep saying don't call.
and a response to Elin:
a lady in the parking lot of our grocery store had a diabetic episode...at 10 minutes I ignored the lady that was with her and called 911. Which I am glad I did, it took them a couple of more minutes to get there. I wish I had done it earlier.
This was after a very successful morning taking pics:
These were all taken on my old camera...I haven't figured out how to download from my Sony yet....you will have 200+ photos to go through then!!![]()
Beautiful pictures! I can't wait to see the ones from the new camera.
I figured you would appreciate this email I got from Kathrin this afternoon. It has been a helluva couple of weeks for me and she has asked Bob and I to do some things that require quite a bit of time to accomplish. I got a little short with her on the phone on Friday and she talked to Bob yesterday and today since she knew I was upset.
Thanks for sharing that! Job very well done (for both of you)! In my late teens I made my mom a cross stitch that said "Thanks for always taking the weeds with the flowers." I thought it summed it all up perfectly, and so did she.
Well... I just booked another December trip, complete with a MVMCP!I can't give up the chance to spend two nights in an AKV (Jambo House, I believe) for free with my friends! Plus I got terrific airfare coupled with two $25 vouchers from AirTran that brought my total cost to $109.20 for the flights. I ordered my MVMCP ticket and printed it out. Other than food and towncar transportation from MCO, I am set!
I fly out of DC the morning of Saturday, December 5 and return the morning of Monday, December 7. I think I will be tired that day since the MVMCP is the night before!
My friends don't arrive from Baltimore until 5:00 that night so I have about 6 hours to myself or to meet up with some of you if you are there and available!![]()

Her flight didn't leave MCO until around five today,
We made it back safely, had a nice visit with my daughter and grandchildren, I started laundry but it's not going to get finished tonight.
Aubrey is now crawling, actually scooting and is sporting her first cold, I don't think it's a coincidence that she just started daycare this past Monday.
Elizabeth and Tammi it was good seeing you again!
Welcome back, Debbie!
