DDA Chapter 22

It was touch and go there for a moment. This happened during warm ups, after I dropped him off. Alyssa and I then ran to Target, and it happened while we were gone. Evidently he was fine until I showed up. Then the tears started, and the "I can't bend it!" "It feels like my bone is popping out!" "I don't think I can play!" I'm such a horrible mom. I told him it wasn't an arm, a rib, a knee or an ankle. Tape it up and get through the game. He's been doing fine but he still says it won't bend. Oh well. His friend is over here and that is keeping him occupied. After speaking with the mom, when it's bedtime and all the 'fun' is over with, that's when he starts crying wanting to go home. He says he wants to stay, so we'll see how it goes. They just had some ice cream and are watching a movie now.

that is the way it goes...it's fine until mama knows about it. I would have so done the same thing.

Very nice furniture, Bernadette.

YAY for Cassidy and her fellow band members!!!

Ditto on the furniture, Bernadette! Great choices, I think.

Congrats to Cassidy and the band! I hope it's a sign of the banner year to come!

Very nice furniture, Bernadette.

love the furniture Bernadette!!

Thanks!

We got Joe both the boxspring and matress so his bed will look more like this one:http://www.boltonfurniture.biz/uploads/vt_piece.fullsize1/Rosewood Maple Finish Bdrm.JPG

His dresser is that natural finish so I wanted to go with something that would match. That ruled out almost everything out there. There was some other natural stuff out there but it looked kind of cheap-and wasn't any less expensive than this stuff. We also have a gambrel (spelling?) roof-like a barn so we had to get something that would fit under the eaves in his room.

Here's a cool video on the Venza:

The only options I got was the v6 engine and floor mats. I didn't get the sunroof, navigation, leather interior, automatic high beams (don't those look cool), power door lift, "only" 6 speakers not 13....but the standard features are really nice. The wood grain finish (not that I'm really into that...) is standard, the mp3 holder with cord "manager" is standard, the 6 cd changer is standard...

It will be a transition going from the minivan to a "car" again.

Well, I had better get back to work and then off to bed. Church tomorrow, followed by birthday lunch for Erin and Kristi's FIL. Maybe a farewell party for Mom and Dad's former pastor and then our troop parent meeting. Whew!

Oh, gotta remember to go make sure Phil's computer is fully connected to the Internet since Dad changed the router. I really don't want to be awakened at 1:00am after he get home from work if it isn't.

Good night all!

Tammi - Hope the sleepover succeeds.

Good morning, DDA!

Elizabeth - Hope you enjoy the Expo and some other nannies get to join you.

Jen - So sorry your jump was cancelled. Lots of :wizard: that the rescheduling is on a good day for you.

We're headed to the bowling alley in a little bit. Brunswick is going some big bowling party to promote a new show or DVD or something that's about bowling. It's free and the kids get to bowl for two hours plus get shoe rental, pizza, ice cream and soda. Can't beat that! After that I've got to finish getting ready for my Scout parent meeting tomorrow evening and the other parent meeting I'm doing for a second troop (which I may end up leading) on Monday. At least the Mon meeting is just organizational so I don't have to do much for it.

Happy Saturday everyone!

Hope you had fun at bowling. I also hope you find leadership for the second troop so you do not have to take it on.:wizard:

Robyn- Hope your life improves. Hope there are no more injuries.:wizard::hug: Hope you can get the Girl Scout issues worked out.

Tammi- Hope Nicholas' finger heals quickly.

Vickie- Hope you get some stuff accomplished.

Jen- sorry you could no go sky diving today.

Theresa- Hope you find a job soon. Congrats to the band.

Bernadette- Very nice furniture. Congrats on the new car.

Tammi - Hope the sleepover succeeds.
Another one bites the dust. He was completely fine until I turned the tv off and said time for bed. Then the tears started. "I miss my mama." :sad1: I wasn't going to be the one to toughen him up so I said call her if you want to go home. He just left. He's such a sweet boy though. As soon as we sat down to dinner he thanked me for "such a nice meal." VERY polite.

Evidently Mom goes through quite the transition at back to school time. He cries and doesn't want to get on the bus, she has had to send a picture of her to school with him, and this isn't just at the beginning of the year, it's after all the long holiday breaks too.

I'll quote Becky since she said it all so well, Theresa, my youngest DD is going through the same thing, she got her thanks bbut no thanks letter from her last interview yesterday, she really had her hopes up for that one. She got her teaching license and wasn't able to secure a position this year, with the economy the way it is there are a lot more applicants for teaching and with no experience yet she's getting passed over for those who do. She is working at afterschool care and subbing right now so hopefully something will come through eventually.

The shower went well. I am so glad it was not outside, as it stormed on and off all day. We have had like 3-4 inches of rain the last two days.

I am heading to bed, as I am exhausted. I think it is the earliest I have went to bed since I am not sure.

Hope you are all having a great weekend.

Hi Ya'll. We were supposed to go to a baseball game last night. I came home from work just wiped out. I was tired, cranky, hot, sweaty, my back hurt so I was just plain miserable. I told Hal he could go and watch the game in the rain, I was not. He came home at about 9 cause they waited an hour to see if the rain would stop. We have tickets to try another night. Today we are meeting his brother whose name is Bob ( I am really glad I did not choose him on the blind date :lmao:) He is a sweetie but not my type!!!

We are having before the bus ride libations, then the bus ride to Philly and I guess a few hours of more libations and then we will see a 7:30 Phillies game. I do have my rain poncho just in case it does rain.

Thank goodness when we get home, we will just stay the night at Bob's and not try and drive home.:rotfl:

Everyone else have a great day!!!
Hope you have a good time and don't get rained out.

I need to stop procrastinating and get to work. I stayed in Lansing this week-end so I could get caught up on stuff so that I can go home early next week and have a wonderful, relaxing extra long week-end with Chuck. I'm off now to try to get myself going. I think a shower first! Maybe that will give me some motivation!
Snap to it Vicki! Get your eye on the prize! More face time with Chuck!!!:love::love:

Can anybody tell me where the "off" button is?!?!?! I want off this roller coaster I've been on...

Lucy fell off the bed at my parent's house today, broke her collarbone. Spent 4 hours at the ER with her.

Last night I had my parent meeting for Mo's Daisy Troop. I was supposed to be just the Co-Leader. I am now the Leader because the woman who was Leader apparently has a huge criminal record. At least 6 open cases against her. And in regards to Girl Scouts she got me and 6 other moms for membership dues and troop dues to the tune of $35-$40 each. The police have been in contact with us to take our statements. INSANE!!!!

On the upside my sister took the kids back yesterday. The social worker approved it. So I will keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. It's all I can do at this point.

I am sorry but I haven't read back, so here's a blanket of :wizard: and 's for all of you.
:scared1::scared1::hug::grouphug::grouphug::love:

This is great. Good job. It looks very romantic. My goodness are the two of you buff!!!:love::love:

Buff :rotfl::rotfl:Not yet, but I'm planning to hit the gym starting next week. Maybe I'll have a little muscle tone in a few months. Thanks for making me smile though
