Bernadette - Got your check today - THANKS! :)
Yay for a new car! I hope Joe loves his new bed.

Tia - Good luck with your scout stuff!

The expo was just "eh" this year. 2 of my friends met me there, and we were finished by 2 PM. Back in the old days they had a hospital sponsor, a dept. store sponsor, and a grocery sponsor. Now they have NONE of those. No Coke, Pepsi, Starbucks, or other major food/bev. vendors. It was TONS of jewelry, weight loss "solutions", and other assorted oddities. The only thing I bought was a 15 minute chair massage. I made a donation at the Petco booth, and one at the Susan G. Komen booth. Not very exciting. I got a Home Depot re-usable tote bag, a couple of granola bars, and a T-shirt advertising the re-election of some judge I have never heard of. I suppose I recovered my $10 admission fee. Mostly. :rolleyes1

Tammi-hope the sleepover goes well! On the Jan question-I FROZE watching Illuminations in January-it was in the 40's and we had been out all day-I had a very light weight rain jacket and denim shirt. Lizzy had a sweatshirt-she was freezing so I gave her my denim shirt. When we got back to the TTC and walked back to the Poly we could see our breath. BUT....I've also been in Dec/Jan when I never needed more than a T-even at 10pm.
I figured it was going to be hit or miss. Maybe I'll book both Rose & Crown and Tuttu and depending on the forecast I can cancel one.

Congrats on getting the car and the bed!

If you figure out what that weight loss "solution" is, please let me know.

Can anybody tell me where the "off" button is?!?!?! I want off this roller coaster I've been on...

Lucy fell off the bed at my parent's house today, broke her collarbone. Spent 4 hours at the ER with her.

Last night I had my parent meeting for Mo's Daisy Troop. I was supposed to be just the Co-Leader. I am now the Leader because the woman who was Leader apparently has a huge criminal record. At least 6 open cases against her. And in regards to Girl Scouts she got me and 6 other moms for membership dues and troop dues to the tune of $35-$40 each. The police have been in contact with us to take our statements. INSANE!!!!

On the upside my sister took the kids back yesterday. The social worker approved it. So I will keep my fingers crossed and hope for the best. It's all I can do at this point.

I am sorry but I haven't read back, so here's a blanket of :wizard: and 's for all of you.

The rain held off until there was about a minute and a half left in the game. They lost, but I'm glad they got to play. It was fun getting back into football. Here are a few pictures.

Notice the bag of ice....

Notice the tape on the fingers..... First football injury. He bent his finger backwards trying to catch the ball. The middle finger joint is swollen. I'll reassess it in the morning.

Robyn - I'm so sorry for everything that you are going through. And poor little Lucy. That has to be the most painful thing. Here's a huge  and lots of :wizard: for you and your family.

I'm glad that Nicholas enjoyed the game even with his injury  Hopefully it will be better tomorrow

:hug:Robyn for you and for Lucy. I hope that she heals quickly and that you can find someone to help with Scouts.

If you figure out what that weight loss "solution" is, please let me know.

They all seemed to involve paying a lot of money and ingesting odd things. I don't think I am gullible enough to go for any of them. There was also some thing that you stand on and it shakes. Really. I figure I could probably stand on my washing machine for the same result. There was also some sort of corset, but I am fond of having circulation to ALL parts of my body so I passed on that, too. :rolleyes1

Robyn, I am so sorry! You have hit some sort of bizarre pocket of bad luck. Hopefully this is the END of the drama!! :wizard: Is your surgery Monday?

Today was another last thing for Cassidy...her last state fair parade...no tears from me today. :thumbsup2 It was too dang early of a call time for me to cry.

Though I did get close...Emmons saw us from up the block and had the drum majors salute us....I was so flabbergasted I didn't have enough time to cry...plus how do I explain to the freshman parents I was with why I was bawling?:confused3:lmao:

I am still ticked over how Cassidy was passed over for the traditional leadership roles but I will say she rocks the loud voice :rotfl: "March with pride even back here" "Stand Attent means shut up":rotfl2:...the funny thing is she listened to when she loud voices.

I am completely sunburned in the face and half of the bottom of my legs. But it was worth it. The kids played the best I've heard them at the Fair. :goodvibes

On a non related note..."I got my thank you but no thank you" note from the hoity toity dr. :sad2:I have no idea where or what I am supposed to do now.

Poor Lucy and poor momma.

I hope your roller coaster evens out soon.

Tammi-Great pictures...I am glad the rain held off!

That's what my sister says the "Working Women's Convention" has become around here with the addition of all types of "sell from home" type of options.

What a weekend! Poor Lu! I hope she's doing okay (and you too!). :grouphug: Mo's Daisy troop sounds like a mess too. You can do it though! If it helps, I think I've stepped myself into leading a 2nd grade troop as well. I'm hosting a parent meeting on Monday so we'll see what comes of that. Kassie is in the existing 2nd grade troop and got really excited when I mentioned maybe leading and her moving over with us that I think I may just flat out offer. Plus, I figure if my co-leader and I don't come to a more workable relationship, that gives me an opportunity to just phase out of that troop and into this one. It wouldn't be a big deal at all if Terra was a year younger once we get to the camping age, etc.

The rain held off until there was about a minute and a half left in the game. They lost, but I'm glad they got to play. It was fun getting back into football. Here are a few pictures.

Looks like Nicholas had a lot of fun, injury not withstanding. I hope it looks better come morning.

I'm so sorry, Theresa. I wish I had an offer or more ideas for you. I'm glad the band did well today!

It was touch and go there for a moment. This happened during warm ups, after I dropped him off. Alyssa and I then ran to Target, and it happened while we were gone. Evidently he was fine until I showed up. Then the tears started, and the "I can't bend it!" "It feels like my bone is popping out!" "I don't think I can play!" I'm such a horrible mom. I told him it wasn't an arm, a rib, a knee or an ankle. Tape it up and get through the game. He's been doing fine but he still says it won't bend. Oh well. His friend is over here and that is keeping him occupied. After speaking with the mom, when it's bedtime and all the 'fun' is over with, that's when he starts crying wanting to go home. He says he wants to stay, so we'll see how it goes. They just had some ice cream and are watching a movie now.

I just got off of the phone with Cassidy...the band placed 4th overall:cool1::thumbsup2:cool1: Which means they took either 1st or 2nd in there division (4A)...the highest they've placed in 4+ years.

and I forgot to add....I've had 3 fingernails break today...two to the quick

Bernadette - Glad you've got the car figured out. I hope the rain slows down for you soon.

We had a great time bowling! The kids loved it and Terra bowled 3 complete games, throwing at least 80% of the balls (pushing and using the ramp on the rest). I got to bowl almost 4 full games as well, which I wasn't expecting. Chase ended up not bowling much after the first 7 frames, plus the people next to us left with 45 minutes of the party left so I threw a full game over there too. I was actually doing really well today, which was nice. I'm sure whoever is producing the new show Bowlopolis (the theme of the party) paid for the parties, but the alley really went all out too. Give aways, buy a pin for charity, bowling pin character walking around, cosmic bowling, etc.

Now I've got to get working on this Scout stuff. I've got to find the line of acceptability between one of my co-leaders needs for hard-core, long-term plans and my need for flexibility and not fully planning out the whole year by meeting #1. Hopefully, I'll find it tonight and she'll be appeased.
Thanks! We got the matress & box spring in and set up. Joe & I went out and bought a matress pad and blanket. I've got to say he picked out a great matress. It's very comfy! His wooden bed and desk will take 6 to 8 weeks to arrive.

I hope we made the right choice with the car. I think I'll feel better after it is all complete and I've got delivery. It is all so stressful!

Bowling sounds fun! Good luck with the girl scout stuff!

Yay! Glad the mail man came through!!!

Here's Joe's bed. We got 2 half size drawers to go under the bed rather than the trundle drawer-they should be easier to manage.

I am really hoping he loves and uses without complaint his desk

Sorry the expo was a bit of a bust. At least you got to see your friends.
