This is going to sound like a very callous statement, but it is not meant to be that at all. Can you imagine the nightmare of moving people around WDW without the monorail? And on a historically packed weekend? So sad...

Must have been the day for dyers to go wonky. The push button on ours decided to stop working last night. So I now either have to stand with my finger on the button(not going to happen lol)or lean something heavy against it. It still drys but I think it might be time to start looking for a new one.

Is it the button inside the dryer door, or like the "start" button? Our old dryer had something weird with the button inside the door and it wasn't THAT expensive to fix.

There was a monorail accident at WDW at 2 a.m. Two monorails collided and one of the drivers was killed, according to news reports.

I just can not imagine how that happened. They are ALWAYS stopping the monorails to allow other trains to move a safe distance away. And the driver would have NOTICED he was coming up on another train! On another thread someone said maybe the driver had a heart attack or something.

The boys lit off the fireworks last night & neighbors around us had some pretty big ones they were setting off. I watched the Macys fireworks on tv to get my fix lol We decided to wait till tonight to cook out.

It just adds to the tragedy. It will be a huge challenge to get everybody where they are going, which is going to cause a LOT of tempers to flare.

UPdate from CNN - it looks like it was not a head-on collision:

(CNN) -- A monorail train at Walt Disney World crashed into the back of another train early Sunday, killing one driver, according to an amusement park spokesman and a witness interviewed by CNN.

The crash occurred about 2 a.m. at one of the monorail stops at Disney World in Florida, said the witness, who requested anonymity.

"Today we mourn the loss of our fellow cast member," said a statement by Mike Griffin, Disney's vice president for public affairs. "Our hearts go out to his family and to those who have lost a friend and co-worker."

The statement said the monorail was shut down, "and we will continue to work closely will law enforcement to determine what happened and the appropriate next steps."

The witness said one monorail train rammed into the back of a stationary train. A photo of the crash provided by the witness showed the front car of a train badly damaged where it hit another train at a station.

According to the witness, a family of six in one train was freed from a damaged car. The witness said the family was shaken but uninjured

Thursday night I went out with friends. I ended up leaving my car at the parking lot. I had it towed on Friday morning, as it is very undriveable. The tow truck driver tried to drive it on the truck and could not. He was surprised that I made it to the restaurant. He suspected it is a transmission problem.

It was towed to a garage, but they apparently did not get to look at it. Like all of them were closing early yesterday and were closed today. So who knows what is wrong with it and when it will be fixed. Although depending what is wrong and how much, I may be looking at a new car.

I had a good time at Atlantic City yesterday. Then today was at my brothers and then Grandma's.

Looks like the party was a hit! The cakes were so pretty, the sno-cone machine was great addition, and I see Mo has already gotten lots of people to sign her cast! You never did say whether or not you got a bathing suit. I'm still good for this summer, thank God, but I'm sure next year I'll need a new one.

The snowball machine was a hit. It's my girlfriends and it has rotated between her and my other girlfriends kids summer birthday parties. I am so glad that we finally have a summer birthday to use it too!! The cast is filling up! Yeah, I got a bathing suit but it is not appropriate for tubing at high speeds. Need to find another regular swimsuit.

I am so glad Nicholas is feeling a bit better. It is very frustrating to not know what is the cause of the tummy issues.
