I hope you are all having a good weekend.

Thursday night I went out with friends. I ended up leaving my car at the parking lot. I had it towed on Friday morning, as it is very undriveable. The tow truck driver tried to drive it on the truck and could not. He was surprised that I made it to the restaurant. He suspected it is a transmission problem.

It was towed to a garage, but they apparently did not get to look at it. Like all of them were closing early yesterday and were closed today. So who knows what is wrong with it and when it will be fixed. Although depending what is wrong and how much, I may be looking at a new car.

I had a good time at Atlantic City yesterday. Then today was at my brothers and then Grandma's.

Happy Belated Birthday Lucy!

Happy Birthday Noah!

Hope you are all having a great weekend!

Tomorrow who knows what will conspire.

Elizabeth - Did you get your laundry dried?

Becky - I hope it's something simple with your car.

I hope everyone had a fun 4th. It's funny listening to you all talk about rain. This is the first 4th of July we've had in years where we haven't had ANY rain. Usually around 4 or 5 we have a storm roll through, but not this year. We went to our town's annual Heritage Festival, where they close several streets and have vendors and food and fun stuff for the kids. It was packed moreso than in the past because the weather this year was cooler. Then we came home and went over to our neighbor's annual 4th cookout. The kids were in the pool ALL afternoon. Nicholas is feeling better. He even had half a burger, mac-n-cheese, some fruit, corn puffs, an ice cream cone and a brownie - throughout the day, not all at once. No complaining and no bathroom. I tried to keep him bland but with all that good stuff around it was hard for him to resist. Then several families set off fireworks on our street, some legal, some illegal. :) What is it with boys and fire? All the boys wanted to light them. All in all, a great day spent with family and friends.

Happy Fourth of July!

Tomorrow is the big 50th Anniversary reception for my inlaws, I've spent the last two days preparing food for that and a picnic lunch we had at work.

:headache:I can't believe my SIL's and BIL, they were supposed to be setting this whole reception up, it's along story but since they couldn't make up their mind and didn't like our suggestions, DH and I decided just to hand over our portion of the money and let them handle it. Well we found out two weeks ago that they didn't have any of their ducks in a row, the menu was a joke, and no presentation was being done.

So my DD has scrambled to put a slide show together, and I've just finished making 40 pounds of pulled pork, two cheese balls, cole slaw, cupcakes, I'll be making jambalaya and BBQ meatballs tomorrow. I also located a sound system and put the music together, as of this afternoon they were still shopping for the table decorations. :headache::headache::headache:

How's that for putting things off?

DS and I just came back from hanging out with the nannies. DH was invited, but he decided to stay home and sleep. We had burgers, DS got to swim, a very nice evening. No fireworks, but that's fine.

My dryer did start working again, so the towels that were in there are dry and I have the load of clothes drying now.

Becky, good luck with the car!

Tammi, I am glad Nicholas is feeling better!!

Debbie, I remember that this anniversary party has been an issue for quite awhile. I'm sorry you have had to pick up so much of the slack! I hope the party goes well!!

I think you are Superwoman! I also think you should get your money back. :sad2: Have fun today. :)

Becky - I hope your car repair is not humongous! But it does sound like you had a good time.

Tammi - sounds like you all had a great day. I am SO happy to hear that Nicholas is feeling somewhat better. :)

Elizabeth - sounds like you had fun too and :yay: for a working dryer!

Yesterday was very relaxing here. I was up at 5:30 to make my ADRs, played around with that for a while and the took my coffee out to the patio to weed the garden. I basically spent the entire day out there! I read two books yesterday and then we grilled out last night. I guess we enjoyed listening to Tammi's foreworks too! ;) Someone in our neighborhood had some pretty spectacular ones... I am sure they were the illegal ones since we could watch them over top of the trees!

Today there is work around the house that needs to be done and I also have compositions that need attention, so not as much relaxation. But it sure was nice!

:hug:You are amazing. I hope you send them a bill for your catering services ;)

I need to get going. I need to run to home depot before I head to my Grandmother's house. The good news is that the sun is SHINING :cool1::cool1: I'll be stuck inside all day, but at least it's bright out.

Deb, I am glad you have SUNSHINE TODAY!

My dryer has decided to stop working. There are wet towels in the dryer, and a load of clothes in the washer. Crap. Hopefully it has enough OOMPH left in it to finish these 2 loads once it cools down.

This happened right before our WDW trip last year. The maintenance guy came to check it, but by then it was working again. He commented that it was quite an old dryer. I do believe it is time for them to show me some love and bring me a NEW dryer!!

Must have been the day for dyers to go wonky. The push button on ours decided to stop working last night. So I now either have to stand with my finger on the button(not going to happen lol)or lean something heavy against it. It still drys but I think it might be time to start looking for a new one.

There was a monorail accident at WDW at 2 a.m. Two monorails collided and one of the drivers was killed, according to news reports.

A monorail crash overnight killed one driver at Disney World, Orlando news stations are reporting. Two monorails collided, and the driver of one is confirmed dead, with a Disney spokesperson issuing condolences to the family. A person who was on the scene reported to the news stations that they head a loud explosion and saw the mangled trains in the station. They tried to run to get people out of the front of the crashed train.

The monorails involved were the pink and purple trains, according to Local 6 in Orlando; pink was moving and hit purple, which was stationary.

The incident happened at 2 a.m. at the Ticket and Transporation Center, in the station.

Wow :scared1: That makes me wonder if one driver fell asleep or if the breaks didn't work on one? So scary, thankfully there were only 8 people on board, can you imagine if it had been 2 PM?

There shouldn't have been two trains on the same line!

ETA: New information... it was not a head-on collision

I am always paranoid when I am riding these & that picture does not help :scared1:

I just said to Bob that those trains had to have passed through a lot of area before getting to the TTC on the same track. Why didn't anyone notice they were on the same monorail line??

Disney's statement:

------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Today, we mourn the loss of our fellow cast members. Our hearts go out to his family and those who have lost a friend and coworker. The safety of our guests and cast members is always our top priority. The monorail is out of service and we will continue to work closely with law enforcement to determine what happened and the appropriate next steps to take."
