Did you try calling to see if you have better luck that way?

I am thinking that maybe it is only "bookable" at exactly 90 days out. If I plug in October 2, there is lots of availability. I will try again in a couple of days and see what happens.

I just switched out Le Cellier for Todd English's bluezoo at the Dolphin. We had actually kicked around the idea of booking V&A's but decided to consider it a little longer and possibly take the girls there for the Christmas trip.

I see I got another concierge night on my waitlist for January. Two down, two to go.

YAY!!
I couldn't get concierge when I called yesterday, so I took Value 1 bdrm. I think I might actually just book that for the whole time (if I can) and leave it. Since the points are higher, if the concierge studio waitlist comes through I will have borrowed too many points. We have no idea if those dates will even work with DH's schedule, so no matter what we book we may have to cancel and start over after vacation bid is complete.

I am intrigued by bluezoo. We might have to book that one of these trips. I bet you are right about Fresh. Keep checking back.

Chanon, you can still vote. :) But I have already pulled the tags off the green shirts and put the pink ones back in the bags to be returned to the mall. ;)

So I was wondering if we would save money with the standard DDP for the front 4 nights before we switch to concierge. The stuff covered by the plan vs. our OOP costs for those same items is an EXACT break-even by the time we pay cash for the tips. The only difference would be getting the CS desserts for "free". So odd that we wouldn't save ANY money! I swear those OOP tips really negate the value of the plan.

Coupled with the loss of the appetizer. I agree!

I think if you have nothing else to do you could run a cost analysis of the whole thing and end up finding what we did. It is definitely a toss-up! You have TIW, right?

Yes, we have TIW that is still valid from last year. It is good through the end of August.

I thought maybe just over the course over those 4 days we might save a few dollars. Nope!

OK, because I simply can't seem to leave things alone, I ran numbers on those front 4 nights on DxDDP. We would lose $100 doing it that way. DS would have to eat appy, entree, and dessert off the adult menu at 2 signature dinners for us to ONLY lose $100. Crazy.

I don't get how people say they save ALLLLL this money with these plans. :confused3

This is neat, Elin!

Hope you are all having a wonderful holiday!

Welcome home, Jen! Lucy's party pictures are great, Robyn! Hope Nicholas is feeling better, Tammi!

It's the gloomiest/coolest 4th of July that I can remember, which is funny since Sharonville doesn't have a parade or fireworks this year (there have been years that I swear I've melted off pounds walking the 2 miles on behalf of a certain President of Council ;) ). I'm grateful for the drizzle though, because our pool is officially gone and we're hoping to grow some nice grass in its place.

I've baked 6 boxes of cake mix (with 3 to go) in preparation for Tuesday's and Saturday's parties (and I'm praying for decent weather, since both are outside). I did make a cute little smash cake for Noah to get into after dinner tonight. I love birthdays! :cloud9:

Enjoy the weekend, DDA! :wave2:

Hello everyone! Still raining here & our fireworks have been canceled for tonight & rescheduled for tomorrow. I bought a few fireworks for the boys(nothing dangerous, they are illegal here anyway)so hopefully they can dig into those tonight.

Hope everyone is having a great 4th!

My dryer has decided to stop working. There are wet towels in the dryer, and a load of clothes in the washer. Crap. Hopefully it has enough OOMPH left in it to finish these 2 loads once it cools down.

This happened right before our WDW trip last year. The maintenance guy came to check it, but by then it was working again. He commented that it was quite an old dryer. I do believe it is time for them to show me some love and bring me a NEW dryer!!

:wizard::wizard:That it works again.

Robyn great party, but I knew it would be ;)

It seems that you are all busy making WDW plans, it sounds like you will all have great trips :goodvibes

Jen I want to see Alaska pictures...please.

We are absolutely exhausted. We were up early and had to be in town at 8 AM to set up for the 8th grade fundraiser (pie sale). I had expected to set up and make a run for it, returning to clean up at 3 PM...that did not happen. Apparently they didn't get a good response from parents so Chris and I ended up staying for the entire event. We set up then watched the local parade, exiting that early to be ready with pie. We had 59 pies donated at $3/slice. Nick and I took plated slices and walked around the grounds making sales while others manned the tent. Chris even ventured out with another 8th grader and sold some pies. Since there was intermittant rain we were pretty successful selling slices of pie to people crowding under tents to keep dry. We were the only booth walking around with food so that helped. In the end we sold 52 pies, most by the slice. We did sell a few whole pies at the end for a bit less money, but overall we did well.

After we cleaned up from that we came home, changed into work clothes and headed to my grandmother's old house. My mother and her brother have it as a rental property and the people (read hogs) that moved out left quite the work for them. They have a new tenant moving in in about 8 days so they need all the help they can get. We stripped wallpaper for 4 hours and I made a quick dinner for everyone (frozen lasagna, chicken cordon bleu and french fries). Chris and I could barely stand by the time we finished since we had literally not sat down since 7 this morning.

We are debating going to our towns fireworks tonight, but right now it is raining. Tomorrow we will be working at the house again then I'm working at 4 PM. I'll be glad when the weekend is over so that I can relax again :upsidedow

Last year at this time we were on the fireworks cruise at WDW. Chris is currently watching the NASCAR race at Daytona and he went to that on the
3rd last year, he wishing we were there.

The 8th grade has done a class trip to the Great Escape (SixFlags) in Lake George, NY for the past several years. They rent a bus and go to a Fort on Lake George (the educational aspect) then they take a cruise on the Lake, go to a campground and set up tents, make dinner etc. There is an arcade next door which they arrange unlimited access to, then they campout that night. The next morning they break camp after breakfast and go the the Great Escape for the day. Apparently the cost has been around $10000 per trip for this. There are some parents that want to do something different this year. They are proposing a trip to NYC to Ellis Island, Ground Zero and maybe a bus tour around the city. A broadway show, maybe and they would stay overnight at a hotel. It the hotel is in the city then they might go to the Today show. So Nick is really not interested in NYC, still wants Lake George. I decided just for fun to see what a trip to WDW would cost :confused3 I know that they do group educational programs and they have special pricing available. I'll have to call on Monday to see how far fetched my little scheme is.
