DDA chapter 21

It is a very sad day in our house. It turned out the Riley was much sicker than I thought and the Vet recommended that we put him down now. His eye was very infected and the tumor was putting a lot of pressure on it. He had actually scratched at it so much that part of the eye was gone :sad2: Hunter and Colby were with me so we spent some time with him then the boys left the room while she gave him the injection. I think the Vet cried as much as I did. She really became attached to him. While we were saying goodbye she went to her flower garden and picked us a big bouquet. We are having him cremated and will be able to pick up his remains after our vacation. The kids are upset, Hunter most of all since he considered Riley his cat. When we pick up the remains I will bring all of his extra food and fountains etc and donate them to other pet owners. We are done with pets in our home. It is just way too hard to say goodbye.

I sent an e-mail to IPO and told them I want to book it for 8/13. I told the guy on the phone today I wanted 8/1, but I think 8/13 will be better. I didn't have my itinerary at work with me when I called, and 8/1 was the only date I knew off the top of my head. Plus, 8/1 is not withing our concierge dates. 8/13 is. I don't really want to have to CALL on Monday - not to IPO or to Dining. So we'll see if this works. :rolleyes1

In other news, the stye has ruptured and spilled all sorts of gunk into my eye. :headache: That happened when I was driving home from work. :scared:

I agree everyone looks great in their shirts.

Thanks for the link Elizabeth

Bummer about the stye

Well, things pretty much stink around here! I thought we were in the clear, since Jacob and Leslie hadn't shown any symptoms. However, we were all watching "Narnia" this afternoon, playing Disney UNO, and Jacob started complaining of a headache. I took his temp, and sure enough, a fever. Then he started having chills. Before we called the doctor, I took Leslie's temp., and she has a small one, as well. She says she feels fine, but since it's the weekend, I asked the doctor to go ahead and prescribe the Tamiflu for both of them. He did, and Alan is heading out to pick it up soon.

At least the whole family has now had it, and now is immune to it. Hopefully that will mean something in the Fall when it's supposed to come back badder than ever. It's small comfort now. Especially to kids who have been cooped up in the house since Monday. Looks like we get to extend the quarantine until Thursday at the earliest. Wish us luck that we don't kill each other!

Oh Glynis I am sorry that Jacob and Leslie have gotten sick.
How is Timothy? So does the Dr. think Timothy will be safe this fall from it?

We're hopeful that Timothy will be ok. Since I'm nursing, he's getting my antibodies, and the tamiflu that I have had. We're watching him closely, but so far, he has no fever or any other symptoms.

okay I remember Jen and Kyle checking in on the computer before arriving for their stay. Is that only for DVC? Also where do you do that at? Also where on the disney website is on line dinning reservations?

I am looking their now.

New Option: Dine and Play
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here's a great new offering for families assigned to second dining! The Dine and Play program allows children to get their meals quicker and adults to check-in a child for Youth Activities without leaving the dining room.

Knowing about this new option may help you overcome objections or save a sale when main dining is no longer available.

Dine and Play

•Available on both the Disney Magic® and Disney Wonder® Cruise Ship.
•Offered during second dining in any of the main dining rooms - Animator’s Palate, Lumieres, Tritons and Parrot Cay.
•Open to children ages 3-12.
Here's how it works: Your Client arrives in the dining room and informs the server that their child would like to participate in Dine and Play. The dining room team brings the child's meal first while serving the adults at a more leisurely pace.

About 45 minutes after seating begins, Youth Activities Counselors arrive in the dining room and sign in the child to their respective groups in Disney's Oceaneer Club or Disney's Oceaneer Lab, eliminating the need for your Client to escort the child to Deck 5.

Adults are then able to enjoy the full dining experience with the knowledge that their child is having a great time in a safe, fun and comfortable environment.

Remember to tell your Clients about this new option when discussing all of the great dining opportunities onboard a Disney Cruise!

Nope. Still here. The kids come home at 6:30. I'm going to get them showered and in their jammies, then we will hit the road. So maybe 7, if I'm lucky. :confused3

Becky glad your dad is home now! :wizard: for a quick recovery.
