DDA chapter 21

Hi! I hope you are all having good weekends.

Besides getting soaking wet twice today because of rain, my weekend has been alright.

Dad might be coming home tomorrow. He is doing better then they thought he would, as they told us he would be in the hospital a week to 10 days. His surgery was on Wednesday.

I need to sort and pack all the relay stuff so it can be put into storage. Which will help with the overall cleaning process as I can then reclaim the space where that stuff is stored.

Have a great rest of your weekend.

Well, things pretty much stink around here! I thought we were in the clear, since Jacob and Leslie hadn't shown any symptoms. However, we were all watching "Narnia" this afternoon, playing Disney UNO, and Jacob started complaining of a headache. I took his temp, and sure enough, a fever. Then he started having chills. Before we called the doctor, I took Leslie's temp., and she has a small one, as well. She says she feels fine, but since it's the weekend, I asked the doctor to go ahead and prescribe the Tamiflu for both of them. He did, and Alan is heading out to pick it up soon.

At least the whole family has now had it, and now is immune to it. Hopefully that will mean something in the Fall when it's supposed to come back badder than ever. It's small comfort now. Especially to kids who have been cooped up in the house since Monday. Looks like we get to extend the quarantine until Thursday at the earliest. Wish us luck that we don't kill each other!

Oh no :headache: That is not good news. I hope you can keep everyone happily occupied for the next several days.

Ann Marie. I hope you can get packed and relax while someone else does the work. I'm sure that Williamsburg will be a nice vacation.

Elin it looks like you are having a nice time :goodvibes

Tammi you were so very productive today :thumbsup2

We're having a lovely time in Maine. The internet service at this campground is sketchy at best. I have to keep reopening a new Internet Explorerer as the computer keeps freezing up. We arrived here around 6 PM last night, quickly set up the camper and walked the 10 minute walk down to Old Orchard Beach. It had rained all day so most of the shops were closed, but the kids got to look at the water and we found a nice ice cream shop. I woke up to beautiful sunshine at 6 AM. I got myself ready and we woke the kids around 7:30 and got them ready. We were at the beach before 9 am and it was a good thing we went early. It clouded over by 10:30, but we had already soaked up some sun and the kids had played in the ocean. The water was freezing, but they went in anyway. Crowds are low, but they expect to be busy by next weekend. We hung around the campground most of the afternoon, swam and played shuffleboard. It was nice and relaxing. Late afternoon we drove down the coast and found some tidal pools for the boys to explore. We came back and met up with the rest of the family and walked back downtown for dinner. We found nice food at a reasonable price and the restaurant was empty. More ice cream and some candy and we came back to sit by the campfire. It is now bedtime. Tomorrow we move to the next campground which is on a lake.

Deb - It sounds like your vacation has started out really well! I hope you like your next campgroud as much as the first one! :goodvibes

Deb - I'm so sorry for your loss, have a wonderful vacation

Glynis - I'm sorry to hear that your family has been stricken with the flu, hopefully the baby won't get it. Thanks for sharing your trip report and pictures, looks like it was a wondrful trip, I'm looking forward to the next installment.

Elizabeth - Sorry aboout the stye, seems like there should be a reason you keep getting them, :confused3 I think I'll try and book the dessert thing for the 13th also and see how it goes.

Elin - Your daily pictures have been gorgeous

Terri - Welcome home, loved the family pictures

Heidi - I love spending time at the beach, to me there's nothing more relaxing than listening to the waves hit the shore

Jennifer - The girls pictures are so cute, you're going to be so glad you have so many pictures when they're older.

Jen - Have a wonderful cruise, is your "friend" going on this one? They just had a woman go missing on the Holiday out of Mobile this week, they think she went overboard. I'm very suspicious when people go overboard and noone sees a thing.

Good morning, DDA!

Happy Father's Day!

Debbie - That would be GREAT if you guys came to the dessert party!

Heidi - I like the beach, but I don't think I could go to the beach and SIT for more than a day or 2. That would drive me batty! :rotfl2:

I have been entertaining myself by reading home cures for styes. We knew about the acacia leaves (that's what giraffes eat). Now I see guava leaves, coriander seeds, tumeric, and cloves are also good for styes. CLOVES? In my EYE? Are they on CRACK? :scared1: I do believe I will be sticking with my current treatment plan of Advil and sunglasses. :rolleyes1 There is no way I want to end up at the ER explaining why I thought it would be good to put cloves in my eye. :scared:

The person who shoved her overboard saw it. ;)
