The freaky/weird thing is that DS and I were discussing cat names the other night. For no reason. Our tradition is that we only have female cats, and their names must start and end with "A". Alexandria, Amanda, Aurora, and Arabella.

So DS got out this ancient dictionary with names in the back and started reading off the names. We figured Amelia was good, or maybe Agatha. Then somehow we ended up discussing ganache, and we thought Ganache was a good name for a cat. So now DS wants to call this cat Ganache, Nosh for short.

Princess and I stopped by the house to check on the little cat and give it some more food. DH is in a staff meeting. After the kitten ate it went back into the carrier. I went to check once more before we left, and it was curled up in the corner by the laundry hamper. I reached over to pet it, and it got up and walked over and rubbed on my feet. It isn't "wild" as far as being afraid of humans. It also grooms itself after it eats, which Arabella didn't do because she was separated from Mama cat so early. I do not think it is drinking much water. Maybe it had enough water in the hours it was under the chip truck in the torrential rain. Anyway, it will make a nice pet for someone. Someone OTHER than us. I told Dadboss that Princess needs a cat but he said no.

Michelle is just the sweetest. She has a little boy about 2 yrs old. Stevie loves him and he loves Stevie. The kids have been posting pictures on facebook.

Elizabeth the kitten is so cute! Once it was in my house, I would never be able to let it go lol

DS just got home from band camp and he is DYING to play with it. DH was trying to tell him no, because he doesn't want DS to get "attached". DS was "attached" the second the carrier hit the seat of the car.

I told DH the kitten needs to go to the vet. Since DH is working tomorrow he wasn't able to get an appointment at a time that would work. DS has a concert tomorrow for the end of band camp, and we will have to leave about 3:15 to get there in time. So the kitten will see the vet on Saturday. Until then, it will be quarantined in the bathroom.

Well the first half day is over...We have been having a lot of fun and doing work still at school. my kids think im the mean teacher for making them do work before teh fun stuff

Its raining here..again..I think were all going to float away!

Yesterday, we had a mini DDA meet at IKEA!

Tom, Angie, and Leighanna drove down and met Jennifer, Avery, Elise, Alyssa, Matty, Noah, and me for lunch. Speaking on behalf of the group, we all enjoyed ourselves and the antics of the children, and then Tom's family went off to explore, Jen took the girls home to continue to tackle birthday party preparations, and after a long walk, I managed to finally find the exit (thank goodness for those big floor arrows).

Pictures were taken. I snapped a few before lunch, but you know what a slacker I am about getting anything posted in a timely manner. Jen took some group shots at the end, but cut her some slack, because there's a big celebration on Saturday!

Hope everyone is having a great week! Off to swim lessons...

Oh ye, of little faith! How long have we been friends? (Seriously though, thanks for having my back! )

Anyway, I absolutely had to stay caught up on the website because of parties and parties and birthdays and anniversaries and doctors appointments, etc coming up. I couldn't be behind before all of the chaos even really began... otherwise, it might be months before I share, and that would be COMPLETELY unacceptable!

The post will "air" tomorrow , but you all can have a sneak peek, of course!

As Amy alluded, I am up to my eyeballs in party stuff! Actually, I am feeling pretty good about it. I have been working from sunrise to bedtime most days this week, but that meant I was done (except for cakes and "Saturday only" stuff) early this morning, and got to treat myself to a pedicure!

Really, the amount of work required was very manageable because I started early. I knew I would have to, because Kyle isn't really home at all this month and we still have classes to attend and visitors to host and playgroups to coordinate, etc, and I'm organizing an anniversary dinner for my grandparents 50th anniversary, tomorrow evening. I love being a stay at home mom in the sense that I get to spend every day with my girls, but I'm not cut out to be just "home"!

We're expecting about 125 people at a local park, and I'm totally neurotic (read: spent the better part of the morning making signs for various things (such as the contents of coolers) that were designed to match the decorations and, more specifically, the invitations I made )).... so I'm really starting to get excited about it. I'll feel better after making the cakes tomorrow!


Anyway, I've rambled.... it's the best I can do to keep chateaukaufman updated, so I appreciate some of you keeping in touch there, since I'm rarely here! Thank you all for the anniversary wishes the other day (those of you I failed to thank personally), and I hope you are enjoying the start of your summers!

I'm home and I'm absolutely exhausted. I'm hoping to take a bath and head to bed very soon.

The restaurant was suprisingly busy I even talked to a family from Dallas. The kids potentially go to school with Elizabeth's son. The at least have similarities with lots of poor kids in the district. I can't remember the name of the school though

We have had over 16 inches of rain since April 1!!

It is a HUGE district - 14th largest in the nation. And out of all of the schools, ours is probably one of the "richer" ones. Only 76% of our students are on free lunch. Not likely that their kids go to our same school, but possible!

We have had over 16 inches of rain since April 1!!

We have had 8 inches since last night!

I think the interview went okay....I spent most of the half hour filling out the paper application and explaining why I would be applying for a job I was overqualified for

I probably am through to the second interview but won't know until probably Monday.
