I used to have frequent nose bleeds, too. But mine started when I was about 8 or 9.

Hello, everyone, we're home. We actually got home early yesterday morning. We had a great time other than the rain.

Welcome home, Kelli! Sorry WDW was so soggy!

We managed to get DS's project finished last night. He is off to school today, I am going to have lunch with a friend, then maybe a pedicure. We shall see. Can't believe this is already Day 4 of my 16 day weekend!

This has been an interesting weekend. We have pretty much determined that Hunter is having issues with hypoglycemia. He is having daily drops in his blood sugar and as far as I can tell now this is what has been happening all year, and probably longer. Yesterday was dizziness and he turned white as a ghost and he was in tears. A coke had him back to normal in a short time. Today he just got so tired and started crying for no reason. I had bought some glucose tablets when I was out today and one tablet perked him up very quickly. I've been reading about it today and that would explain his moodiness, depression, headaches, dizziness, fatigue and many other things that we've been encountering. I'll call the doctor tomorrow and hopefully I can get him in on Thursday as I have the day off.

Colby is having daily bloody noses so that's a whole other issue.

Laura had problems with her blood sugar dropping rapidly like that all last year. She would all of a sudden get white and dizzy. Usually she also felt very sick to her stomach, too, which made it harder to get anything into her. I started sending chocolates and hard candy to school so that she could stay ahead of it. She can't eat much when she wakes up in the morning, but she now knows that she has to drink some juice and have at least half a granola or Nutrigrain bar. It's getting better, so I think it might be related to growth/puberty changes.

I hope that Hunter can find an easy way to control this, too.

It was a beautiful day for a parade.-sunny but not too hot. Yesterday we had pouring rain so it was great that it worked out well. All 3 kids marched. Lizzy & Joe do the whole route that must be several miles. Emma's Daisy troop meets up with the parade about 1/2 way through.

Thanks! We discussed it some last night, and it seems nobody here really wants to go to the beach for more than a day. Now I'm looking at Williamsburg for a couple of days. Matthew wasn't home (as usual), so I don't know his thoughts. Or maybe we'll just drive down and drive home.

The day ended up being pretty nice here. We stayed away from the pool though and went to the movies to see Night at the Museum. It was ok, but I liked the first one better. All of the history that was in this one was way over my kids' heads. The only figure they knew of was Abe Lincoln. They enjoyed it though. Then we came home and grilled burgers and dogs, with baked beans, coleslaw, watermelon and fresh pineapple. It was yummy!

Sounds like a great end to the weekend. We were going to see Night at the Museum this weekend, but the Eiffel tower took us too long.

Miles has to build a replica of the Eiffel tower for SPARK. SPARK is supposed to be a gifted/talented program. It's really not set up or run well, and it is more of a pain in the neck than anything. We may opt out next year. Laura says that's not fair, because I made her do it all the way through 5th grade. Matthew says she's lucky, because I made him do it until it ended after 6th grade, and that was the worst year. I say, live and learn.

I'm up early than I needed to be. This whole Hunter thing has me worried. I always jump to the worst conclusions and the unknown is very difficult for me. Rationally I keep telling myself that we've brought him in for all the little things and the doctors were never concerned so maybe I'm just over reacting. The irrational side says that maybe there is a serious condition driving everything. I really wish I could just shut my brain off sometimes.

Good morning....I am so mad at myself. When we went to the beach on sunday it was so foggy you couldn't see more than 50 feet ahead of you, it was cloudy with a chance of rain & cold. So I did not slather up my kids as I usually do with sunscreen..I am so anal about sunscreen that I normally follow them around the beach reapplying while they are playing, after they eat & after they get out of the water...well for some reason I assumed that since it was so overcast & cold that they did not need it...WRONG!!! All 3 of my babies are burnt to a crisp & hurtin'...& I feel awful. They have never had a sunburn before let alone ones this bad.

DS tested for Gifted back in 4th grade, but he didn't get in. That was before we had him on meds for the ADD. His friends who were in it all said it was just project after project, so I am glad he didn't get in!! In middle school it counts as an elective, so he wouldn't have had room for it in his schedule.

Anne Marie - Clinique makes a good "after sun" lotion that I have used on DS when he gets sunburned. I managed to sunburn my scalp last week, and now it is peeling. Lovely.

Thanks, Elizabeth! Our trip West last year was the same way in the planning stages, and it worked out very well. I guess I need to stop asking them what they want to do and just tell them what they are doing. I am torn between wanting a vacation and not wanting to spend any extra money right now myself, so it doesn't help when they are being uncooperative.

I cannot wait until school is done for the kids! They all need a break right now. It seems like it's project after project and big test after big test. There is a lot of stress around here. I really don't want graduation to be here, though.

Laura says that there are 14 more class days left (followed by two exam weeks). I think Laura has exams on 5 or 6 of those days. Matthew only has exams on one. He still needs to complete his leadership project for PIG (Participation In Government), but I can't get the details out of him to push him on it. I know that he is planning a river cleanup and needs a DEC contact. This is a graduation requirement, so he needs to get it done and do it well. He is usually good about getting things done, but sometimes puts things off a little too long, and I think he's starting to get a bit of senioritis.
