Nothing on hand this weekend, but 2 birthday parties on June 6th.

Good morning :)

It is going to be another beautiful day :cool1:

I managed to get sunburned at the park yesterday. Guess I won't complain, because it has been weeks since the sun was out!

DS had his band concert last night. The Beginner band only has 2 percussion kids, so the director had DS play with them and the Advanced group. 8 songs! He said his hands were tingling afterwards. :rotfl2: We also listened to a Steel Drum band that is a community/elementary collaboration (3rd through 9th graders). He has no interest in that. He kind of liked the Jazz band from the high school, but I don't know how they choose which ONE person gets to be the drummer. I told him if he wants to bridge to Jazz he needs to go to the Arts high school. That made him mad. He is a bit cocky - he said the directors have told him he is their best drummer and I think it has gone to his head.

He got his TAKS results yesterday - he passed all 3 sections, which is good! I was worried since he had that horrible cough that it would really hurt his scores. His scores are lower than in the past, but he passed by a comfortable margin. :)

Yay the sun is shining!

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

Just a quick goodbye... I am running late and need to get out of here. I am taking my laptop with me so hopefully I can check in and catch up with you al tonight. If not... I will see you sometime Friday night or Saturday!

Hi, all! Sorry I haven't been posting much. I've been in a funk this past week. I'm feeling a bit down with Memorial day coming up. That's the day we always take care of our families graves. I feel badly that I won't be able to visit my mom's since it's so far away. It's kind of got me down.

Things here are wrapping up for the end of the school year. We just found out that Katie will be awarded a trophy and 50 dollars for completing the Newberry challenge. She's spent the last 2 years reading and doing book reports on Newberry Award books. Only a handful of students complete the challenge, so we're really proud of her! She's excited to have that extra money in time for Disneyland!

I read everything but can't remember much. I do know that I owe Beth a "happy birthday!" I'm glad you had a good day!!!

Deb - I hope your great niece pulls through! So sad!

Claire, the little preemie that I told you about, is doing quite well. She's breathing on her own, and seems to be doing well. They don't expect that she'll be going home until sometime in July. The parents are really bummed, but so grateful that she's doing as well as she is.

Gotta get the kids off. Talk later!

We seem to be missing a lot of birthdays lately.....we must have birthday-i-tis...if we don't celebrate anybodys birthday that must mean we aren't getting any older. ;)

Beth!!

Glad to hear your day was good!!

Glynis sorry you are in a funk.

Congrats to Katie. :cheer2:

Wonderful news about Clair, :yay: hopefully she will surprise the doctors and will be able to go home sooner then what they expect.

Glynis-tell Katie congrats from Auntie!!:goodvibes

We had to get a new mouse for the computer last night....so for $5 more we got a new keyboard too....for $15 they both are wireless.

This morning I am making sandwiches for some of Cassidy's group (one is too picky!!) as they are headed to a park after finals are done today.

I am also retooling my resume (again) and finishing as much of "The Shack" as I can for book group tonight.

Cause I hate to spend that much money on one thing. Plus months ago I said either new camera or FL. Well the camera broke in FL. :rolleyes1:upsidedow
that was months ago...things have changed....;)

Seriously....I don't think you should buy another bridge camera-they are good for what they are but that isn't what you want so I would NOT spend the money on one. If you aren't ready to spend the money on a dSLR I would try to find a cheap point & shoot in the $100 range.

That's how I felt about Miles' 10th, too. It seems like he was just born. For some reason, I never realized how close in age Miles and Lizzy are. I had a six day old baby when you were having her.
You must be getting old. Anne Marie's Daniel has a birthday coming up very soon too!

:wizard:Hope Claire continues to improve!!!

Thank you! I was so happy that the meet was over and that I didn't have to work. Dh made me filet mignon, potatoes au gratin, asparagus, and a lemon meringue pie for dessert. He cleaned up the kitchen, too. He's not so great with gifts, but he does a great job of spoiling me!

Yummy meal! I hope I sent you a birthday e-card! If not... a belated happy birthday, Miss Beth!
