DDA chapter 21

You should look into the Nikon P90-it is a high end point & shoot like your old Sony. I think it was a 20x zoom. I don't know too much about it but I hear it has some same components as my D90.

I too remember her getting stuck on that last year. PLEASE don't let Joe find out. He won't go on any ride he thinks might get stuck. He wouldn't go on Spaceship Earth with me because they got stuck on it last August (as I ran for fast passes for Soarin) and they got stuck on Small World too but I was OK missing that one. I wouldn't be able take him if he won't go on TSM.:rotfl2:

The problem with the camera is the more I look, the more I can not make up my mind. One day I am sure I want a DSLR, and then chicken out and start looking at bridge cameras again and back and forth. As my brother said just jump and get the DSLR, stop being scared about it. You already probably have 2 lens to use that Dad is not using.

There is also the D5000 that just came out that is a slightly stripped down DSLR version of the D90. But I can find the D90 for just a touch more money. So I still keep going back to I should just get the D90. But never seem to jump to get it.

In either case, I have to get another external hard drive to hold that pics that are more then twice the file size as of my previous camera. So I have also been looking at terrabyte hard drives.

As for Joe being scared of getting stuck on rides, he does not want to talk to me. I have been stuck on a lot of rides. ;)

OK...just buy the D90-you will NOT regret it!!! The D5000 doesn't focus. You would likely want to upgrade it so just get the D90 and be done with it!

SO...if you ever meet Joe don't talk about getting stuck on rides. Have you ever had to walk off any? He seemed more relaxed about it when he saw the emergency exits but it saddened me that he spent a lot of time worrying about that rather than enjoying himself.

That is the same thing I keep thinking about a Bridge camera or the other D models. I know it is what I want, I just have to pull the trigger so to speak. What lens(es) do you have?

I have never had to walk off anything at WDW at least that I remember, although I may have. I have walked off roller coasters and other rides at other parks.

Also right after IOA opened I got stuck on like everything. I think the only 2 things we did not get stuck at some point was Dr. Doom's freefall and the Hulk roller coaster. Let's just say they were not ready to be open. We walked off cat in the hat and Jurassic park in our 1 day there. But that has improved immensely.

SO...why don't you just buy the D90? The thing that held me back was I wasn't sure I wanted to lug it around with the kids. I waited til they were older-had less stuff-wouldn't need to be carried....I'm glad I waited but glad I also finally made the leap.

You should just do it and you'll get it for a lot less than I paid.

I loved The Time Traveler's Wife until a certain point about 2/3 or 3/4 of the way through. I'm sure you know where I mean. Then I had to struggle to finish. It was just too sad for me. I am looking forward to the HP movie. Miles and Laura want to see Night at the Museum II and UP, so I will probably be seeing those. Matthew wants to see Star Trek, but he'll probably go with friends. Dh will want to wait for it on DVD, because he hates spending money on going to the movies (or just about anything ;)).

Chuck & Becky are talking about going to the movie one night up there and they want me to go to the same movie down here so we can go to the movies "together". :cloud9: We'd call and talk about the movie afterwards.

With all this camera talk, I've been meaning to ask you, Bernadette, what setting do you have your camera on when the person or subject is focused and the background is blurry? I want to know how to get that effect.

That's sweet! :lovestruc

I can't believe that this weekend is Memorial Day weekend. Does anyone have anything fun planned, besides you, Debbie? ;)

honestly....I mostly had the camera on automatic but you can force this effect by using a small aperture.

Lizzy's birthday is Friday. How can she be 10? I think all 3 will be in the Memorial Day parade but I haven't heard from any leaders yet.

Cause I hate to spend that much money on one thing. Plus months ago I said either new camera or FL. Well the camera broke in FL. :rolleyes1:upsidedow

Sleep, rest, relax.

Go to Hersheypark for the new section of Boardwalk opening. Although it may be too chilly to partake in the new wave pool and lazy river. This is my hope.

I need to do relay stuff.

I just got home from work and need to be up in 5 hours to go to work :sad2:
