Elin I love your view :thumbsup2

Ok off to work I go!

Elizabeth I would say keep kitty, but if the leasing agent does say something it will be harder to give him up after you had him awhile.

I've been trying not to complain too much about my new job, but I really need to vent.

A few weeks ago they told me that I have a negative attitude, which is very true, but it is the management that creates this negative attitude. For example...

Yesterday they held a lifeguard inservice which was to go over CPR procedures and recertify those people that needed recertification. So we show up and there were no dummies to do CPR on. The head lifeguard assumed that he would have them since they had been in the office for a while, but the Red Cross picked them up yesterday afternoon as they needed them elsewhere. So instead of cancelling he decided to just verbally go over it and pass everyone :sad2: Then there was the "meeting" portion. He went over all the rules that most people have chosen not to enforce (I already enforce them) as well as things like not falling asleep while guarding (not kidding, I've seen it happen). Then he reprimanded those of us that leave ON time for not staying to cover for those that do not show up on time. Read that again...He didn't reprimand people for constantly being late, in fact he said that he understands that people will sometimes be late, but that people need to stay until the replacements come in. Now mind you, there are only 2 of us that regularly come in on time, most of the guards arrive 15 minutes to 1 1/2 late (why not, you're not held accountable). I plan my day to leave at 9 AM and I am not going to stay late everyday because people cannot show up on time, that is his problem not mine. Then he went on to say that if you are late you need to write in the time that you actually come in, not your scheduled time. People were writing there scheduled times on the timesheets then showing up whenever and getting paid for it all  All I can say is un frickin believable. I wasn't as mad yesterday when I thought that it was addressing the whole crew, but I found out this morning that it was specifically addressing me and the man I open with. John thinks that it is because he couldn't find anything else to yell at us about. John even confronted him when he found out. John actually said so you're reprimanding me for leaving when I'm scheduled to leave, but you're not reprimanding anyone for being late?:confused3 Turns out the head guard is usually late so he doesn't want to enforce a strict rule

More stupidity...apparently no one is sure if the center is grounded. That means if we are struck by lightening we may not be safe. So the head guard thinks that we should close the pool, but if the manager on duty says to stay open then we should :confused3 Now doesn't that sound safe :confused3

Trust me, this is just the tip of the iceberg with these boneheads. I'm just waiting for them to try to fire me for working my scheduled hours and leaving on time :lmao: We've got enough stupidity to file a lawsuit, it's just a matter of who gets fired first at this point.

And now I'm going to try to block all this crap from my mind and take a nap. Thank goodness I'm on vacation next week, I certainly need a sanity break.

Elin, that looks FABUOUS!!

Janet, have a good day!

Elizabeth I would say keep kitty, but if the leasing agent does say something it will be harder to give him up after you had him awhile.

I know. That is precisely our dilemma. Not only would it be harder to give him up, it would be harder to find a home for him.
The rescue group already has 3 black male kittens up for adoption. :sad2: I just do NOT know what to do.

Elizabeth talk Princesses Parents into keeping the kitty then you could still see him. The best of both worlds

Dadboss is ADAMANTLY opposed to indoor pets. And with Princess's allergy issues an indoor cat would not be a good idea.

Your work sounds like a nightmare. Is it really worth it?

Happy Birthday Tom

Happy Birthday Tom!

Good morning.

I put a hold on a ressie at the BWI CL for 7/29-8/9. There is a promo going for an additional 35% off CL & this rate beats the AP rate for CL!

This would work as both Dana & I will be there for our birthday (7/30) & I can use the 10% card from Bernadette (TY!:worship:) for our AP's. If we can't get alot of places to dine we will skip the DDP & use the Tables in W card & the lounge.

I am going to call their IPO at 9am to see what they can do for us & then I'll decide what we are doing.

I really hope you get everything worked out so you can go when you want. There are a lot more people there for your original dates, but if you go earlier, around your birthday's, I would love to say hello since we'll be there for a couple of days.

Good morning, DDA! (from my deck...)

I am so jealous! Enjoy your days!

Oh my -- how stupid they are. I'm sorry this is so frustrating for you. It sounds like the center is run by idiots. I have no patience for idiots. And a pet peave of mine is people who are habitually late. Good luck to you! I hope you get everything settled for your trip next week.

Elin,
I just want to jump into that picture!!!! Enjoy!!!

Elizabeth,
I would be tempted to keep Kitty too.

Deb,
Wow, what a bunch of morons. How can other people coming in late be your fault????? Geez! I would do the same thing you do, leave when I am supposed to. Sorry you have to deal with that...& the lightening thing is just frightening!!

You know, I was thinking about the grounding thing.
This is a public facility, so they would have had to have inspections before they were allowed to open. Not only that, but they would have had to meet certain criteria before they were able to be insured. Assuming they ARE insured, I would think they would have to be grounded. But maybe not.

Resorts are so funny. We liked the Poly. We really did. DS was more impressed than I was, but it was VERY nice.

We LOVE AKL. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it and we are absolutely happiest when we stay there. SSR was OK, WL was OK, Pop was too small for us but it was also OK. AKL is our favorite.

DS wants to try BWV sometime, and we might give BCV a try sometime if we could find avaialble dates. But I don't expect to love them like AKL/V.
Resorts are funny. I liked AKL and won't mind staying there in January for Emma's birthday but I really LOVE Poly. I like Pop but don't want to go there in the summer. I liked YC & BWI when I stayed there years ago without kids but they aren't calling me. CR CL was nice but I wasn't crazy about CR. I'm not crazy about the moderates-I would rather go value.

Hmm. Our pet sitter just called. She might know someone who would like to have Little Cat. That actually makes me feel really SAD. Ugh. I guess I will see what she comes up with. She asked if we are home in the evening in case someone wants to come see Little Cat. Well, yes, we are home, but things are not really tidy enough for guests. :scared: And then there is the part about us not being sure if we REALLY want to give him away.

OK, so we don't want to give him away, but the bottom line is our leasing office could FORCE us to give him away and that would be much worse.
:hug:Good luck with your decision.

I couldn't see them.

That sounds great!!! Hope things work out with ADR's.:wizard:

Sounds like you need to leave. I would worry about something happening and then getting named in a lawsuit.

I talked to Dorinda this morning. She said her DH was just saying last night how much he wanted to go back to Disney. AND....his birthday is 8/3. We all travel very well together. She has to check to see if he can get the time off from work as they already have a trip booked for late August to CA. That shouldn't be a problem as he does A/V for seminars for a hotel and this summer is VERY quiet. She's also worried about her Dad (90) who has been failing.

Tom - Happy birthday!

Elin - What a beautiful picture! If it's real quiet here, I can almost here the roar of the ocean. :goodvibes:

Deb - Sorry your job is giving you such headaches.

Anne Marie - Even though you won't be at BCV and I won't get to see you, it sounds like you are getting a good deal.

Nicholas had his awards ceremony for the second semester this morning. He got a Perfect Attendance award and an Academic Excellence award. Now I have an Honor Student cling for the car window. He was surprised that he got two. He was only expecting the attendance award. If I remember correctly, had I not taken him out of school for the week for our vacation he would have had perfect attendance all year.

I'm pretty sure you can upgrade it to an AP but I don't think you can use a discount card with the free birthday ticket-only one discount-so the free ticket would be a better deal. BUT....if you think you spend more than $75 on merchandise on your trip you would be better off buying the AP with the 10% discount and then getting her the gift card.

I still have one more card but I also know that Vicki had some (maybe others?) so I think you should give them the chance to give you theirs.

Thanks!
OK...I have to give it some thought. Emma would love the donuts. I like the pineapple bread at Poly. I do love the Poly but Emma would love storm along bay! I would like the BC location-walk/boat to 2 parks but love seeing wishes from the beach and Elec Water Parade and easy escape from MK at night......
I am getting Olivia the gift card. I am using the pin code for kids to stay play and dinee for free. but it has the base park ticket with it for free. So I just have to pay for the hopper portion. That is what I was wondering if I could upgrade.
