Elin - that is beautiful. Patrick sure knows how to pick a gift!

Yes, he does. I have to say, Bob was a little peeved. When we were dating he gave me a lovely diamond pendant that I wore constantly for years. We had a break-in at our first home the night we went to closing (we had not yet moved in) and it was stolen. He has been looking for another one to replace it. But the girls told him that he wouldn't find another one exactly like it and that he needed to be looking for something more up-to-date. Well, he fiddled around so long "looking" that someone else bought me one! :rotfl:

And another man, too! ;)

One of my very favorite things to do is to read. I have 4 J. D. Robb books sitting here on my coffee table. One of them is going to join me on my patio for the next little while. I also need to mow the front lawn since it didn't get done yesterday. I will check in with you all later. Have good mornings!! :goodvibes

Also, please be sure to pass my thanks onto all of your friends and family who voted for us. :thumbsup2

Have any of you ever eaten at a Longhorn Steakhouse? Their menu looks decent and we have one here in Fburg now. I have a few Darden Restaurants gift certificates that we will use over the next couple of months and we are not particularly fond of Olive Garden or Red Lobster. There is no Bahama Breeze near us, so that leaves Longhorn.

If you have eaten there, what are their prices like? I hate when there are no prices on a company's website. That seems like pure laziness on the part of their webmaster!

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

I am officially ON VACATION! :yay:

YAY!
I am officially back at work. :)

Good news!

No more emails or reminders from me! ;)

I was afraid the weekend would do us in.

Oh, bummer. I am sorry. :guilty:

Last night I was given the most amazing gift from Patrick. I am still speechless and so very appreciative. His mom told me he picked it out himself and went and got it too.... After 12 years this young man knows me quite well. His note said that a Journey pendant was the perfect gift. :goodvibes

Sorry that the quality of the picture is less than optimal. I took it with my cell phone and had a tough time focusing on the pendant.

We've eaten there 2x. It was okay. I put it below Outback and Logans, but still good. Much better than Lone Star.

I am seriously considering booking a WDW trip for over my bday. I'm not sure if it makes sense to do it though, because it would be short, but much less points. Here's where I stand......My bday is on Jan. 7, a Thursday this year, the week that the kids start back to school from Christmas break. So they would go back to school Mon, Tues and half a day Wed, then be out Thurs and Friday. We would leave late afternoon Wed and come back on Sun. This would also mean we miss our Christmas trip. So I'm torn whether to plan a November trip (21-27 over Tday), or April, over Alyssa's bday. Both of my kids have celebrated bdays there, now I want to. But just going in August and then back in November, I'm not so sure about. Plus, I MAY still go down for a long weekend in October, by myself, for the F&WF. What to do, what to do.

Not that you were really asking for input. but I will put in my 2 cents anyway! :rotfl:

I think you should go for your birthday. Crowds will be less, you want to be there on "your" day for a change and it is really close from October till November for another trip. :rotfl2:

What a sweet & thoughtful gift from Patrick :goodvibes

I knew that you all would get a kick out of the very first question Kathrin asked about my gift: "Is it real?" :rotfl2:

I assured her it was and that I have the certificate of authenticity and extended "warranty" to prove it. I didn't know diamonds needed a warranty. None of my other ones have one. :confused3
