So who can provide us with siteseeing ideas for Cozumel or Costa Maya Mexico? We are looking for fun things to do and/or see while onshore.

I was able to find a wonderful private touring company on Roatan that is extremely reasonably priced and it offers a spectacular day. We can do a canopy (zipline)tour, snorkel, shop, meet and interact with monkeys. It really is everything we want to do :goodvibes They customize each tour to accomodate yourr specific interests. I'm fairly certain we will book that one. Now we need to find fun things at the other ports. I want to make the most of our land time and feel that we saw the sights.
Go on a Swim with the Stingrays tour.

Thanks, I'm up at 3:00 am taking a breathing treatment, I've made the hard decision to spend the morning in the room and let the boys go to Animal Kingdom without me. DH didn't want to leave me but I would feel much worse if I felt like I was ruining the trip for them. I think this is best, it will be my third day on the antibiotics, and as gross a's s it is I've started coughing up crud, which is actually a good thing as that means it's breaking up.

Brandon's reaction wasn't what I had hoped, he did break out in a big smile when I told him and asked if we were leaving "right now", but then he got sad and said he didn't want to go. He had been talking to his Mom about Disney World the prior week, and he didn't want to go and leave her home alone. She did convince him that she wanted him to go and have fun, I don't think I'll pull another surprise trip on him though.
I hope you feel better by tomorrow. :wizard:

I can tell you a couple of things not to do, our first time we did the shopping and site seeing tour in Cozumel, that was horrible. I loved snorkeling but Colby would probably be too young.
Nah, he'll have another year yet before they go where he can practice. We are going to Typhoon Lagoon and do the shark swim in August. I'm going to let my kids take my old mask and snorkel to the pool to practice getting used to it.

I plan to get Colby Snorkle gear here and get him into the pool over the summer. He is a great swimmer so I think I can teach him before then. We may all take a scuba class too, if one if offered at the Aquatic Center. I'm told that he is old enough to do that too :confused3 Whatever we do as far as snorkeling goes I'm sure it will have to incorporate a glass bottom boat since my Mother doesn't swim. Colby can always stay on the boat with Grammy
:thumbsup2Should have kept reading before I replied.

Good morning. :)

We are definitely going to the pool today!

Debbie-I'm so sorry you're sick! Hope you start feeling better this afternoon!:wizard: Sorry the surprise didn't go as well as you hoped. I don't know how Emma would react to a surprise but I do know that Joe & Lizzy wouldn't react well.

Deb-your trip for next year sounds great. I bet the treehouses will be awesome! My sister stayed in the old ones 15+ years ago.

Glynis-hope Timothy is enjoying his crib. :wizard:for Alan!

Heidi-congrats on deciding to book California Grill. Hope you love it!

Beth-I'm sure Hilton Head will be nice!

Becky-hope you're feeling better!

Elin-glad you're home safe.

Tia-hope Terra's foot is better today!

Tammi-:woohoo: for the new appraisal! Hope all works out. Sorry you didn't enjoy the airshow ordeal. I'm having the same dread about a trip to Canada. DH has done no planning-he spent some time this week on passport applications but hasn't finished them and is so indecisive that he can't even decide where to get the photos taken. I won't get in a car with him (who doesn't travel well...) and the 3 kids if he doesn't have some sort of plan and reservations.

So...............

I think gouging my eye with an icepick would have been just as much fun as the airshow.

We drove an hour to get there, then waited in a line to get into the base that moved a half inch every minute. It took about an hour to get parked. Then we had to wait in another line to go through metal detectors. That probably took 20 minutes. We walked and walked, found a place to set up our chairs and blankets. It was now almost 2 PM. I hadn't eaten anything yet. Nicholas and Bob went to get pizzas and water. I think they waited in line for at least a half hour. I sat in the chair and the girls fidgeted around on the blanket, occasionally checking out a plane that was going overhead. The Blue Angels started around 3, and that lasted until maybe 4. Then we packed up, walked back to the van, waited in another line to get off of the base and drove home. Thank goodness the kids were good sports about it all, but I would have much preferred to be elsewhere, having bamboo slid under my nails.

I'm sorry but he is just going to have to get over it if he wants to do something/go somewhere that I, or my kids, have absolutely no desire to do. All 3 of us would have rather spent this beautiful day at the pool. "Just being together" doesn't make the unbearable bearable. I'm sticking to my guns next time and won't be guilted into anything. And quite frankly, I don't think he is being fair.

Well.... scratch my previous commentary! I agree that no matter what the relationship people in that relationship have the right to bow out of activities that don't interest them. Please notice how much you don't see myBob in things that we often do. They don't interest him. He would be unhappy and then he would make us unhappy. So, we all do our own thing and rejoice when our "things" coincide and we have fun together. It has worked, for the most part, for 30 or so years!

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

I was MIA yesterday because I spent the better part of the day outside. It was gorgeous here. This morning has been another beauty, but it looks like we may get some thunderstorms this afternoon. I got half the back yard mowed and am waiting on a replenishment of gas from Bob and water from me and then I want to get it done before the rain comes. For Tammi's sake I hope I am wrong!!

Tammi-I am sorry you didn't enjoy the airshow...the airshows I've been too...well I've lived on base for, so we didn't have to go anywhere...it also helps when you know some of the people working at the show. :confused3

Tia-hope Terra's toes are great today

Deb-I am sorry that your streak of sickies is holding true this trip...hope you feel better fast!!

it is not a good thing to be friends on facebook with your daughter's boyfriend sometimes....it looks like Cassidy is in the middle of a breakup but doesn't want to talk about it. (it so explains her behavior yesterday though)

If anyone is looking for a good read, I just finished J.D. Robb's "Strangers in Death" and enjoyed it very much. Somewhere in there I think I have missed one or two of the Eve Dallas series so I need to go back and fill in the gaps. There were a couple of characters I didn't recognize.

So we are home from church, ate lunch and now need to pack the bag for the pool. I hope the rain holds off for a few hours. Yesterday was a much better day for pooling. :( Notice I haven't let that go yet.

Dolphin encounter or experience in Cozumel, at Chankanaab Park. Snorkeling in Cozumel. They have Jeep tours. I know in Cozumel they have a sub you can go on which is underwater. They also have parasailing. They have underwater scooters. I am not sure what of this all the kids could do.

As for SCUBA you must be 10 to get a Jr. open water SCUBA certification then you must always dive with a certified adult. Maximum depth is 40 feet. To be Open water certified you must be 14 years old.

They do have a program called SCUBA rangers which is for kids 8 to 12, you only dive in a pool.

Hi everyone-
I didnt get to check in this morning as i got up early andh eaded to the shore--we cleaned out my grandmother's shed--lots of JUNK! it took forever!
I just got home and am now lounging and wathcing the phillies..not sure whats going on later but i love that i dont have work tomorrow!

Go on a Swim with the Stingrays tour.

We are looking into that :thumbsup2

:hug:From your posts it sounds like it has been going very well. I wonder if graduation has him running scared:confused3

Those are great ideas. Thanks for the SCUBA info. It is something that our family plans to be certified in anyway so we'll just certify as they become old enough. My working at the Aquatic Center makes me think this is the right time. Now I just need to get them to offer the class ;)

I got the lawn finished... by pushing, not riding mower. I had planned on doing part of it "by hand" but the flat tire on the John Deere made certain I would have to finish it the hard way.

I am plumb tuckered out so we are going to go out to dinner tonight instead of grilling out. We will grill our rib eyes tomorrow... in the rain.

Hi DDA.

Hope everyone is having a good weekend. :goodvibes

Hal was away for the weekend and I really enjoyed the quiet. :lmao:

Twelve more days until our week at the shore. I am counting the minutes. :cool1:

The viewing and funeral were the most devastating I have ever been to. Their closure was to watch the grave being completely filled in. That sound was even worse than hearing a casket being closed.

I absolutely do not want a viewing, funeral, any kind of service at all. Just have a party and then take my ashes and spread them (carefully and secretly) around Disney World. I am so serious about this. No grand measures.

Guenna and her family moved into their house this weekend. It is really nice. Much bigger than the place they have been at for seven years. I love the layout. Nice sized kitchen.

Have a great day tomorrow!!!!

I'm sorry about the service. I've never seen anyone stick around for the actual filling of the grave  I hope your family respects your wishes.

Congrats to Guenna on the new house. They must be so excited.:goodvibes
