Hello DDA!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, LUCY!!!

We're getting ready to head to Erin's house for fireworks tonight. The retirement home across the street puts on a big display the Thursday before the 4th every year. They also do free activities and food. Erin's party has apparently grown from 25ish people to 40-something so Mom and I have been recruited to come early and help get the food ready.

Last night was a fun night out. A friend talked me into taking her extra New Kids on the Block ticket so I hung out on the lawn of the ampitheater with friends from junior high/high school. There is little about my junior high years that I want to relive, but that part was fun. Of course, there's the indications that I'm old too - hated the smoking in the lawn area, had to put my shoes back on halfway through since standing barefoot for too long bothered my back, and disliking the incredible noise. I also didn't think Jordan needed to remind me of that by saying "we first released this song 20 years ago."

So does anyone have big plans for the 4th?

I think we're just grilling pork steaks, probably swimming, and watching fireworks somewhere. My dad's best friend and family are coming, plus all of our family.

Tia nothing planned here for the 4th, I will be working. I did take some rib eyes out to thaw so I can marinate them to cook out.

Usually we go over to Garys brothers & watch fire works. His Uncle is having a get together at his place this year as well. Honestly I just feel like staying home, but who knows I might change my mind lol

We will be working on the 8th grade fundraiser on the 4th. Setup at 8 am (baking pies tomorrow ) then we'll watch the Old Homes Day parade and head back to the pie tent. Tear down is around 3 PM. The fireworks that we usually go to are holding them tomorrow night, weather permitting. Heading to look at the forecast now. Of course I'm working tomorrow night so I'll probably miss them anyway,.

The weather forecast has rain for the next week, EVERY single day. When will this ever end? We need some sunshine, it can't stay in the 60s forever

We aren't doing anything for the 4th. Some friends were thinking of having a BBQ, but I haven't heard anything else so I think they decided not to.

I am doing my FINAL tweaking of ADRs.
August people - I have 4-5 extra seats for dinner at Citrico's on Sunday 8/9. If anyone wants to join us let me know, otherwise I am going to downsize the ADR.

Just a reminder - Member Services is closed for the holiday on Saturday. If you need something plan accordingly.

I am so bored. It's done nothing but rain for days so we are stuck inside. I'm sure I've gained weight since eating is what we do to cure the boredom. I sure hope we can get outside soon, very soon. It is becoming depressing.

Where did you find that? And what is o/w again? I can't find any good deals on USAirways or United. I got our flights down: $70 for Alyssa, $90 for Nicholas and $60 for mine. The flight back is $150, so I've been holding out on that, hoping it drops or a ding comes up.

I'm taking Nicholas to the dr. at 3. Anything in particular that I should inquire about or ask for?

I am so sorry I missed this post, but I was at work. I assumed it would be available on every site! I get emails from numerous companies, but I think this one came from SmartTravel.

o/w = one way. I didn't find those fares when I plugged in a couple of dates but some came up as available on Expedia, Travelocity and Orbitz. It was not only available from the e mail sender.

That is what Kathrin has been saying for over a month. Apparently the Boston area has only had 4 sunny days in all of June??? I can't imagine that.

Last year at this time we were in sunny Florida having a wonderful vacation. This year it is rain rain and more rain. Today has no hope of sun according to the forecasts. Tomorrow we may actually see the sun between Thunderstorms. Our local fireworks are scheduled for tonight so it will be interesting to see if that actually happens or if they get postponed until tomorrow night. I'm working tonight so postponement is fine by me

Last year at this time we were in sunny Florida having a wonderful vacation.

Nice memories! I wish your weather forecast was better for this weekend though.

Last year we were in sunny and hot Boston. They are cold and rainy now too.

I need to make my chart for our October ADRs. I have so much information spread out over three different locations that I feel like it is all a jumble.

Added to the problem is that there is a tentative listing of special ticketed events for the F&W Festival. We will not be doing the Party for the Senses this year because Bob is just not an adventurous eater and I will not waste that $135 pp cost on his finickiness. But there are a couple of things I might want to do and those will impact our ADRs a bit. So I need to put it all down on paper and see if it lines up any better in my spinning head! At least the hours are out, so that helps me know where I want to be on specific days.

Good morning, DDA!

I have been up since 4:30 AM. Can't sleep.
DH is off today, so he got up and made coffee. Of course that is "sleeping in" for him since he is usually up by 1 AM.

Elin, I re-did my chart on Wednesday, then yesterday I changed an ADR. But I am done now. Really! I just need to modify the party size on that Citrico's ADR and I will be completely finished with ADRs. I still need to book the photo shoot but I can't do that until tomorrow.

I can NOT figure out what to wear for that. I spent over an hour at the mall yesterday trying to think of something. I did find 2 new shirts for DS, but no inspiration on photo attire. Last year DH wore blue plaid, DS wore light blue and I wore navy. NO CLUE what to do this time around.
