Well, since apparently I don't have a feature that causes the dishwasher to empty itself, I guess I'd better get to it. Uh oh, and Rachel just came home which means I bet I won't get the computer back for awhile.

not sure what are dates for next year will be. Jeff gets 3 weeks vacation next year. We are thinking of trying to go when Theresa and her girls are going to be their.

Our AP runs out 7/29 so I am guessing 7/20-7/31.

That will overlap our dates :cool1: We are looking at:
7/16/10 - 7/23/10 Tree House Villas
7/23/10 drive to Miami and spend night there
7/24/10 - 7/31/10 NCL Epic cruise to Western Caribbean
7/31/10 - 8/6 or 8/7 Universal Studios and Sea World Possibly WDW

I really wish we could purchase an Ultimate Ticket like they offer people in Europe. It is good for 3 weeks at all the WDW parks and waterparks. That would be ideal and let us return to WDW after the cruise. The other options are much more expensive. I don't think Annual Passes are in the works since we probably won't get in a second trip within a year. We will be in the saving/planning stages for a 2012 Hawaiian trip.

Thanks for all the support!:grouphug:

Since it was raining this morning I told DH that he should do some internet research today for a family trip so I could plan when to use my vacation time and he responded with "I thought we were going to Disney.":confused3 Lizzy walked in right after he said that so I said can we ask her what she thinks of that. At first she was reserved-she is her father's DD! Then I said where would you like to stay? And she said Polynesian and once should found out it was CL & LV she was so excited and said "Oh Daddy that is the BEST room! You will LOVE it!!!" He did say if I agree to plan a low key trip he would try to have a good time. AND....he even said that there was something comforting about going someplace we know well. I am hopeful that it will work out.

I had IPO book the Wishes dessert party for our arrival night and a 7am fishing trip on 8/1.

I haven't booked airfare yet-I think I'll do it tonight.

AnnMarie

I'm glad that you are safely home. It will be nice for the kids to make friends this summer to help them acclimate into the new school.

That's good news. Hopefully this will reduce some of the stress in your life.

It is pouring here. I think it might be more powerful than our shower :scared:

I need to run out to the vet around 4 PM so hopefully it will stop by then.

Bernadette- that sounds promising! I hope DH plays nice and that this gets you out of your funk.

Good morning, DDA!

It was a crazy weekend as always. The surprise party on Saturday went without a hitch and, miracuously, I didn't lose my mind. I spent the first hour out back grilling up all of the food, then grabbed my food before hopping in the pool with Terra. I had to leave after awhile to pick Rachel up after her mission trip to West Virginia. I was got just long enough for the party to wrap up and then we had a quiet night. Well, as quiet as it can be with Kristi's 3 spending the night. They were all worn out though so we played a little, ate dinner and then everyone fell asleep to a movie.

Yesterday was a day of shock. We got some disheartening news from my parents' church's pastor that was shocking and very sad. He's resigned for personal reasons and I know that everyone involved both there at at the church we go to (which kind of spun out of this one) is stunned by it all.

After church, Terra and I got to spend a very nice day together even if it did keep getting interuptted by random oddities. We had a lot of fun though and I was feeling much more at peace after our time together. Then at 10:45 last night, Dad finally made it home from his 17 days in Ukraine. He had an amazing trip and is already talking about going back with next year's mission group. I'm very impressed as this is something that none of us ever expected my dad to do. It's totally out of his comfort zone, but was apparently the right thing. He said they worked hard all week building and doing for this camp there for underprivilidged and disabled children. The area is the poorest of the poor, but he said the kids were all so joyful and loving. It was a good trip.

Now, I am trying to bring myself to take Terra to park day, but I can't quite give up the glorious quiet that is this morning. Maybe the baby will wake up soon and jump start me to action, but for now I'm enjoying the peace that is too often missing.

Sounds great, Tia! I'm glad your dad had a good experience. My SIL adopted a set of 3 siblings from the Ukraine 11 years ago. She was so shocked at the poverty level there! When the 3 kids were teenagers, she took them back on a service trip, to help build a new orphanage. She said it was so eye opening for the kids to go back and be able to give a little back to their old community.

Welcome to your new home, Anne Marie!!! Wish I was closer. I love to unpack moving boxes.....in someone else's house! I'm hoping that the kids make some friends quickly to help with the transition!

I so wish I could say there was a WDW trip in the works for us for next year, but that's not going to happen. DH is open to the idea of an Alaskan cruise for our 20th anniversary next year, or else a European trip with my dad. We are checking out the prices for both.

Welcome home Anne Marie!! Your time in Colonial Williamsburg sounds lovely:goodvibes

Bernadette-I am glad you got the go ahead for the Disney trip.

Welcome Home Tammi! I hope the real world doesn't bite too much today.

Tia-I am sorry that the pastor felt he had to leave, it is so disconcerting when it is abrupt. Enjoy your time at the park.

Today was another job interview, this time with a staffing company. I liked the interviewer and this time it was for a specific job. I just want to work!

Glynis, have you and Allen ever discussed DVC? with 7 people that may be the way to go.

I was pushing for DVC since our very first trip, don't know what took John so long to realize it was the way to go, except he did admit that he never even thought of resale before.

I have talked to him about it, but since he doesn't enjoy Disney trips as much as I do, he's really against it. He would be perfectly happy going to DL or WDW once every decade. It's not a place he wants to go.

So, since he's the one making the money, I feel like I need to do things he wants to do in between the Disney trips.

Well, that's not good. My charge's mom got laid off today so I will be temporarily without a charge. However, I was already looking to add one more so we'll just step up those efforts effective immediately. Hopefully, it will be short-lived, but then doesn't everyone in the same position. She's already been on the phone all day and has a few leads to that's good, though.

For now though, Terra and I will have a few days to spend together doing things that have been put off time and again due to timing and circumstances. I owe her several trips.

And now I must be off. Rachel, Kassie, Terra and I are going to see Annie at the local ampitheater. One of Rachel's good friends is one of the main orphans so we bought tickets for this show (usually we go to the free seats). It should be a good night and, thankfully, the weather is much improved!
