We have tried to watch Wishes from the UNcovered tables near Noodle Station and the trees get in the way. Of course by the time you realize that, you are boxed in and have to stay there! DH was furious that he couldn't get a single decent pic of the fireworks because there was so much stuff in the way. Not sure I owuld pay for that. Especially if the desserts are pre-packaged stuff. :scared:

It should be interesting to hear the reviews of this. The desserts at DL were definitely not prepackaged stuff. Luckily, there were only a few other witnesses to see me take several trips to the buffet! ;) (The buffet was out before the show...I didn't move during Fantasmic.)

Elin another beautiful picture!

Robyn sounds like you had a rough one yesterday, hope the weekend goes quickly for you!

Jen hope you are feeling better soon :wizard:

thanks for the dittoable!!

Tammi-Congrats on the house being just yours!!!:goodvibes

Katrina's boyfriend is stuck at the airport in Marquette. He has a flight to Chicago and they are saying the weather in Chicago is too bad so the flight is delayed. Kristine, I hope that you & yours are all ok. I see that there is a flood warning down there.

I did it. I booked January 6-10 at AKL. I double booked too, so don't tell anyone. I could only get one of those nights CL, so I booked that and waitlisted the others. Then I booked a Savannah view in my dad's name, in case the waitlist doesn't come through I'll have that to fall back on.

:cool1::cool1:That sounds like fun :cool1::cool1:

We are leaving for camping in about an hour. If I don't have internet it will be next Saturday before I get back on. Hopefully we will be able to pick up a signal at one of our campsites.

The reason I suspect pre-packaged desserts is because that's what they serve at the IllumiNations "dessert party" thing. I am a big dessert girl, but I have to say the pre-packaged brownies from Casey's are disgusting. We threw them in the trash. I would have to hear more explicit details before I would even consider booking, especially since I already know for a FACT that the view from the uncovered portion of that patio is partially obstructed.

Tammi - Congrats on a January trip!! :yay: If you have enough points to double book them more power to you! I am already irked that I will have to keep calling every day to add nights to my 2010 ressie. I may have to rethink trying to get all of the nights in concierge, based exclusively on the pain in the butt factor.

Deb - Have fun!

How have the crowds been, Elin? We've never been this early in the season, usually toward the end of August when the beaches are sparse, so I'm anticipating masses of people.

Well, we are in shoulder season this week... crowds probably won't start arriving until tomorrow. It has not been bad at all until today. However, today is the first really warm, sunny day we have had all week so I am certain this is part of the reason the beach is more crowded today.

We had to wait for 45 minutes to get into Tortuga's Lie for dinner last night. I bet Terry and Hal didn't have much of a wait last week. That might be some indication of how the numbers are increasing too.

Disneyland used to do this with a special balcony viewing of Fantasmic. I want to say there were only about 20 slots per show, so it filled up fast. I bet WDW does something similar. The desserts at DL were yummy!

Yes, they did! And I think you are probably spot on with your numbers, Amy. Bob and I were fortunate to be in that special group the last week it was open in 2007. However, they also do "ground level" seating that I am betting is still available (Glynis?) and those desserts came in a box-lunch style of offering as opposed to the lovely serving style of the balcony seating. I wonder if that will be the way WDW will also handle it.

:woohoo:

OK, so for giggles I am going to book this dessert thing. The guy at IPO can't find it in their system - he has to phone Dining to book it and call me back.

I asked if the desserts are pre-packaged. He didn't know. He called MK Guest Relations. They don't know, either. They THINK they will NOT be pre-packaged. My HOPE is that it would be things from Crystal Palace or Main St. Bakery. But who knows? :confused3

Sooo...
I figure we will book it and if people are saying the view is bad or the desserts are gross I can cancel it! :rotfl2: I am hoping to get it for 8/1 since we do not have a dinner ADR that night.

OK, so the IPO guy called me back and said they aren't taking reservations for the dessert thing yet. :rotfl2: He told me to call back Monday.

Elizabeth - you are too funny. You're 0 for 2. First you aren't keeping the kitty, then you aren't booking the dessert thing! :lmao:

It comes from having entirely too much time on my hands before we leave on this trip. :rolleyes1

And technically, I may NOT be booking the dessert thing! :rotfl: Nobody can seem to figure out how to do it! I guess I will call Dining on Monday, and if I can't manage to book through them I will have to wait for IPO to open.

Elizabeth I hope you can get it, cause if you keep the reservation, I trust your feedback more them some random strangers.

I wonder if they will have sugar free offerings for people who can't have a lot of sugar, or who prefer sugar free.
