DDA Chapter 20

Matthew has an awards presentation to go to tonight for some Chemistry Olympiad that he did well at. He wants to wear this shirt but has no tie to go with it. I'm not good at the whole tie matching thing. What should I look for? (And I do realize the shirt needs a good ironing. ;))

Beth I would take this shirt to the store with you. I know I am not much help lol

Theresa & Tammi -- You are both in my prayers. I hope the men in your life (and job hunts, etc) give you a break soon!

It's been rainy here in Cincinnati, too! I hope the sun starts shining to improve all of our days! As for lower posting, I imagine people are just busy! I know we go out almost every day to various classes and groups and playdates, not to mention normal errands. When we're home, we're playing with Kyle, cleaning, etc. I know everyone I talk to with school-age kids is always busy at this time of year, with school winding down, summer vacations coming up... I imagine people's "real lives" are just getting in the way of their internet ones! :) Deb, I wouldn't worry about facebook being the root of it, though! Some of us were members there years before even joining the DIS, it certainly can't be blamed for my being busy! I'm pretty sure the girls (one of whom is having meltdowns in her crib each and every time she is put there these days :confused3) can be to blame! ;) I choose to get online mostly when they nap, but - as you all can relate - that's also the time I have to do everything else under the sun. From all I can tell, people just post differently there. I am there frequently (it's been a part of my daily routine since my freshman year in college, so it's a habit not easily broken!), and I still can't keep up with people the way you're used to doing here... so don't feel like you're left in the dark because of it! ;)

We really just don't have anything too exciting to post about. I mean, our daily lives are pretty exciting to me, with the girls doing new things every day, but I can't come and post all the time. I'd be sure and let you know of anything big, but other than daily stuff, we're just boring! :) I've been working on the girls' birthday party in my spare time (ha!), have been working out about 3 times per week (out of necessity, considering I've gained back so much weight I practically weigh what I did at the peak of my pregnancy!), and there you go - you're just about caught up on us! :rotfl:

I hope you all are doing well. I read and catch up as often as possible and keep you all in my prayers when all the big stuff seems to hit the fan. :grouphug:

I'll leave you with a few pictures, at least! ;)

Amy and her 3 are coming over today, so we'll try and take pictures of that, too, to share with you! Take care! :goodvibes

Thanks, Janet! I was thinking of taking it along with me. And I hope to find someone better than me, because I don't think I'll be able to figure out whether the tie looks good with the shirt even if I have them together. :rotfl: This is when I need Mom and Dad in town.

 Hi, Jennifer! The pictures are too cute!

(Deb, I am on facebook sporadically and I still don't know what is going on)

Theresa - you need a hug! or two   or three

If you can't come here to talk where can you go? Sounds like you need a sounding board., sweetie.

I know I need a sounding board, but it's the same stuff I've whined about before...with just a smidge of new crap every day.

Beth-I would do a solid blue tie that matches/coordinates with the blue stripe in the shirt. (couldn't help myself from posting:cutie:)

Thanks! That was one of my first thoughts, too, but I'm not very confident on this. I guess I'll take it out with me and hope for the best.

Good morning, DDA!!!

Is it bedtime yet? It's 10am and I am done. Already, I have finished my comp shop, been to Target, and picked up Connor from school due to a mysterious rash on his face. Kristi is hoping allergies, someone else thought maybe poison ivy. So, now I'm coming up with thing he and Terra can do that avoids contact with too muh stuff or each other. Add to that Mom has some ugly stomach bug and it has been a crazy morning.

I was about 50 pages behind and just kind of read a few pages here and there. From that and what I knew before...

Theresa - I'm so sorry that Cassidy didn't get drum major. I hope she had a great time at prom. Continued prayers, hugs and anything else you need for all of the rough spots you've got going right now.

Jennifer - Love the new pictures! They are so big!!

Debbie - Love your new pictures too. She's grown so much!

Glynis - I hope Alan and Leslie manage to avoid all sickness. I'm glad he's taking precautions.

Kristine - Those shirts are great!

Deb - I hope things calm down for you soon. I know it's got to be hard, but I hope things turn around for Colby soon and he starts showing the improvements you're looking for.

Heidi, Bernadette, Jennifer - Happy birthday all around!!

Tammi - I hope things work out with xdh soon! I know that it can't be easy.

Karen - Good to see you pop in. I'm glad that everyone is doing well. Good luck to your brother on finding a new job.

Chanon and Lindsey - I hope that you are both feeling well.

Anne Marie - I hope getting ready for the move is coming along well. I never got the money in the mail to you for some Disney dollars. Sorry for not getting back to you about it. Things just got crazy. Terra lost that tooth that week (she managed to know she lost it this time, but accidentally lost it down the sink when she tried to was it :( ). The tooth fairy left her a note that Tink forgot to deliver the Disney Dollars and that she'll get them for next time. We'll be near a Disney Store in June and will get some then.

Jennifer - I hope your trip plans are coming along. The kids are going to be so excited! Does Olivia have a theme picked out for her birthday this year? I'll get the autograph cards out today and get the colors to you.

To everyone else - Hello!!! :wave2: You've all been on my mind even when I'm not around. Between lots of internet issues and the computer going down twice this week, I'm not online too often lately. I'd really like to change that, but we'll see how that goes.

I was proud of myself this weekend. Terra and I planted our first garden! Mom's front garden has been empty for years. For the last 2 years, it has been home to Terra's planted sticks and "sand" castles. After almost 2 hours at Lowe's on Sunday, we came home with 12 bags of dirt, some humus and about 2 dozen plants. I was really nervous about how it would turn out as I was having a hard time figuring out how to combine the various options, compare heights, etc, but it tuned out pretty well. Most importantly, Mom seems to like it so that is good! I was really impressed with how much help Terra was. She helped through all of the digging up of old roots and the tree roots that had grown into there, spreading the dirt and through half of the flower planting easily 2 1/2 hours of work. She's so proud of it too, which make it even better. :goodvibes:

Well, it seems my moments of peace are over sooner than I would have liked. I hear the baby starting to babble so it may be time to get back to work. Since we comp shopped this morning she went down for a nap a little later than usual. I was hoping that meant se would sleep later too, but apparently not. Usually that means she sleeps longer in the afternoon so there's still hope. ;) Luckily, she's a really good baby so I really can't complain.

If I can find a working computer later on today, I'll try to catch up again. Either way, have a good day everyone!!!

Jennifer - the new pictures are so cute!

Anne Marie - TGM's best days for Aug. are up!

ETA: Well, the first half of August.

Has anyone ever been able to do online check-in? It tells me it can't display my reservation and to try again later. Thing is, is that I've been trying to register my reservation # since I got it and keeps telling me the same thing

It's good to hear from you and to see those adorable girls.
Tia I'm glad that you stopped by too.
Hopefully we will all find a little calm in our personal storms soon and we'll all be able to hang out a bit more :wizard:

Beth I would suggest getting a solid colored tie. I think any of the colors in the shirt would work, but his pant color will need to be a contributing factor too. If he's wearing black pants then a navy tie would clash, etc.

I've been a bit productive for a change. I got my car inspected, got my brows shaped and tweezed, had lunch with my hubby. Now I need to work on housework.

EEeeck. I just looked at the cdc website about the swine flu. There are now 45 confirmed cases in Massachusetts and that's where we are supposed to go on Sunday :sad2: Oh and my brother and father are going into Boston for a Red Sox game tonight. I really hope that none of us catch it.
