DDA Chapter 20

thanks for the input about a car rental your right it is 400 or more for the car rental. as all the coupons I was finding expire end of may or end of june

More coupons will come out as the current ones expire. Make sure to check each rental company site as they often have specials listed there too. Rather than trying to choose the best sized car you can check various sizes for pricing. I've gotten SUVs or Minivans for less than a full size just because they were running a better deal.

We strongly prefer having a car. It is so nice to not have to worry about when the next bus is coming, dealing with tired kids at the bus stop, etc. We also prefer to eat some meals in our room and hitting a grocery store makes that possible. I guess we look at it as the money we save on food covers the cost of the car, but then again we go for longer trips. I am not a bus fan at all since we have had many issues with wait times, dealing with a double stoller or 2 singles or 2 wheelchairs, just not fun and the people around you can get very nasty.

Look what I just ordered!

I have been waiting for that plate to become available for 15 years!

That as perfect, I'm glad you were able to get it :cool1:

Tammi good luck with your meeting today.

I'm off for my second and last long day of the week. Hopefully everything will go smoothly at both jobs

If anyone has any pixie dust to spare, my brother will find out today or tomorrow if he is getting laid off. His company will be laying off several people and restructuring so he has no clue where he will fall in the mix. Thanks

Tammi,
Good luck today!

Elin,
Cool plate!!!

Deb,
Good luck to your brother.

Lindsay,
Glad you stopped in, hope all is well.

Jennifer,
We liked having a car last year (it was our own that we drove down though). It was way more convenient than the buses. We got to the parks within 10-15 mins of leaving the resort. My DH would do anything to avoid the buses at any cost.

Marci,
Hope you are taking it easy, hope you are feeling 100% soon.

Chanon,
Those are the most exciting pictures!!!!!!!! He/she looks just like you!:lmao:
Thanks for sharing them with us.:goodvibes

Isn't this new info??? Same FAQs page on disneyworld dot com

Q: Can I upgrade my free birthday ticket to another ticket type?

A: Yes, the free birthday ticket may be upgraded to another ticket type on your birthday. However the celebrant is responsible for the incremental cost and the new ticket may only be used by the celebrant. The 1-day Magic Your Way ticket good for 12 months (an option for certain passholders and multi-day ticket holders) may not be upgraded.
I knew it was good for a year, but I didn't know that it could be upgraded.
Well, you and I seem to be in the rarity in today's technological age. I didn't "peek" at either of mine. Boy did I catch grief from everyone about "How can you plan? How do you know what to buy?" Gee, I wonder how our parents ever got ready for babies? ;) That's nothing against all of you who had to find out. It just wasn't for me. :)
My thoughts (besides the thrill of being surprised for real in a few months) is that if I find out what this child is now, I'll be at the store and see this cute little outfit and look there's another and Oh I just have to have that...so this is also a cost saver technique for me. ;) Though I did hear that Janet found a cute outfit from Disney for me...and I wonder if the stock from DL is any different than WDW?? :rolleyes1

Morning!

Chanon what sweet pictures :goodvibes The 1st thing I thought is you are having a girl, of course I am no physic :rotfl: Guess we will all know in September!

Glynis glad you all had a nice Easter!

Elin I love the license plate :thumbsup2

Tammi good luck today :wizard:

Theresa sorry the job fair was such a hassle

Lindsay look forward to seeing pictures from your ultrasound!

Jennifer I see you booked a Disney trip :woohoo: Have fun planning!

:wizard: & to all I missed!

Jennifer - If you really want a rental car, look at full sized/standard or the Mid-sized SUVs. (Full/standard is written that way because different companies name that size car differently.) The past three times we have rented a car at MCO was from Dollar. They were the cheapest available, far less than National or Alamo.

There is a website: www.vacationoutlet.com that sometimes has good deals on rentals. Be aware that unless you pay extra you will be the only driver.

We got a Disney PIN :cool1::cool1:

our address, my mother's name

I have received several e-mail PINs recently...kids 3-9 free. Since I'll only have one of those for less than a month (and we already have four "adults") in the family, it sure doesn't save me much.

what is the grocery delivery place you all like. My mom drinks Pepsi and I dont remember seeing it any where on property

Jennifer I have used Garden Grocer & Wegoshop, both were wonderful to work with. GG has a $12 delivery fee & a $40 min. order, Wegoshop has no min. order & a $17 delivery fee. The one thing I really like about Wegoshop is you tell them where to shop for your items & you are only charged what they paid.

If anyone has any pixie dust to spare, my brother will find out today or tomorrow if he is getting laid off. His company will be laying off several people and restructuring so he has no clue where he will fall in the mix. Thanks

:wizard::wizard::wizard: for your brother!

Good morning, it is going to be another beautiful day!

Hi, all!

Thanks for the kind "welcome backs" - I'm sorry I keep disappearing! :goodvibes

I am feeling better these days - my skin is still a wreck and my typical migraines last longer w/o being able to take the right meds, but the nausea, for the most part, is gone. I'm just hungry all the time! :rotfl: And I'm at that weird "is she just packing on the pounds, or is she pregnant?" stage - I just can't get excited about maternity clothes, either. We're less than 2 weeks out from our 20-week u/s - I'm really excited to peek! ;) 2 weeks in gender purgatory is plenty long for me, thank you! :rotfl:

Chanon - great pics! I"m so excited that you guys got to visit with he/she today. :goodvibes

Deb - did lacrosse get canceled? I'm glad your week from you-know-where is about up. I'm with you - lifeguarding should not be so stressful - at least from a managerial standpoint!

Elin - cool license plate!

Tammi - I hope tomorrow's meeting goes well. Is there a light at the end of this tunnel for you?

Becky - I hope you get some restful sleep tonight, and more time for yourself soon!

Welcome back, Glynis! I'm glad Timothy is starting to cooperate more.

Theresa - I'm sorry the job fair today was such a bust.

Elizabeth - I'm glad you have an appt. with the neuropsych! I keep thinking May is still far away, and it's so not. I hope he's able to come up with some solutions.

Marci - I'm glad to hear your recuperation is coming along - I'm just sorry that PT hasn't started, and that it's likely to be so painful. Let me know if there's anything I can do to help!

Jennifer - I've heard you can use the birthday gift card throughout your trip - it doesn't all have to be used on the birthday. Good luck with all of your plans! You guys are going in July, right? I've heard good things about Garden Grocer and WeGoShop for grocery delivery, but have never tried any, as we always do a rental car.

Thanks for a great post to ditto! I wanted to reply individually, but it's getting late!

Have a great day, DDA!
