Thanks! I looked them up & they are what I like.

Her roommate got her hooked on the series. It is the only other series that I know she loved besides Harry Potter. If you end up reading them, let me know what you think.

Will do!

I am trying a new recipe tonight for pork chops - San Francisco Pork Chops. I hope they are decent. I really need something new for them. We either grill them or cook them with cream of mushroom soup in the crockpot. That is beyond boring anymore.

If they are good share the recipe please....crockpot and grill (with marinade) is getting old fast over here too!

Jennifer - very cute pictures! I can't believe that the twins are bigger than Mattie, and they were preemies.

Vicki - I say go for the great airfare!!!

Deb - your Six Flags day sounded fabulous!

I can't believe how much I got done today. It must be the sunshine that has made me feel so much better. I went to church tonight, so in the morning I can lounge around. Then I went over to Kohls and exchanged some stuff and bought some others. I found some cute capris and summer tops on clearance for Alyssa. I think the most expensive thing I bought her was 4.50. Then I stopped at the grocery on the way home. I got Slumdog Millionaire from Redbox and my pizza is in the oven. I'm going to be settling in for the night.

Hello, DDA!

I've mostly been reading fluff lately, so that's where my recommendations are.

If you like light mysteries, try the Aunt Dimity series by Nancy T. Atherton. I definitely recommend reading those in order.

I like Diane Mott Davidson, too, and Joanna Fluke also write mysteries that include recipes.

If you like a little teen angst, Laura has discovered Sarah Dessen. I have read some of her books, too, and they are good young adult fiction.

I read Confessions of a Shopaholic recently and enjoyed it, though my stomach was at times in knots for the main character (due to her economic decisions). It's supposed to be light and funny; I'm just a bit weird. I haven't read the rest yet, but I will look them up.

Have you already read the Meg Cabot books: Size 12 is Not Fat, Size 14 is Not Fat Either, and Big Boned? I re-read those three recently and really enjoyed them (again).

I enjoy Tamar Myers mysteries, too. Again, you'll probably want to start at the beginning of the series.

I'm trying to think of what I have read lately that's not mystery or young adult...I'm sure there must have been something.

And they're honestly tiny, though I never think so! :rotfl: Noah's just a little peanut!

Sounds like a good day, Tammi!

I spent my morning watching the synchronized swim practice, because I was the carpool driver. Saturday practices are about 30 minutes from here, so we take turns driving out. Usually we need two cars, but some of the girls are still on vacation. Then we went straight from there to a can drive. We already had collected cans in the neighborhood. Some of the girls/mothers went out to collect more cans, and some of us stayed and sorted. Cans into bags, plastic into other bags, and glass into boxes. Plus there were plenty of non-refundable cans/bottles and other garbage that had to be weeded out. So many people don't rinse their bottles/cans (especially beer, it seems). It was a bit disgusting.

Now I'm tired.

I don't read much at all, but for fluffy I LOVE the Sophie Kinsella books - both the Shopaholic series and the rest (ie Can You Keep a Secret?). I read every John Grisham book and every Sophie Kinsella book, and that's about it!

I've read back, but my brain is starting to hurt (ok, I'm getting a headache). I think I'll go find something on tv.

I have gotten home after 10pm, the last two days and left around 8am in the morning those days.

Today I left here at 6:45AM, went to a pancake breakfast for Relay- I got my pancakes to go, then Autism walk for recruitment table, then camp to help with a Brownie event, then to the bowling alley for an older girl event I helped plan, then to our team's spaghetti dinner for Relay. About 150 miles later I am home. My car is on Empty and I had filled up late Thursday night, I get about 450 miles per tank, so I have spent a lot of time in my car. Today was a gorgeous day to be outside though. I had no desire to go to the bowling alley for the event as it was indoors.

I got home a bit ago. I think I am registered for the Magic Meet, I just did the registration as I had no time to find wireless internet. I got a Pay pal error, but received a receipt from Magic meets and Pay pal, plus it says I am paid on the Magic meets site. So hopefully it worked.

I need to shower and head to bed. Tomorrow is wedding prep stuff for my Aunt who is getting married in October. She is starting assembly of stuff already. I would much prefer to stay home, but given I am the Maid of Honor, I should probably make an appearance. Although this will be a monthly thing till October. I think I need to take some Martini fixings, or some wine or something.

I hope so too! And I agree that you need to take something tomorrow to make the pre-wedding stuff got faster. ;)

I've read along. The DDA babies are so cute.

I've got no books to suggest as I barely have time to read a magazine these days.

Jen, I looked at the cruise, but I didn't see any great deals. Everything adds up quick when you need two rooms to accomodate us all. I'll keep looking though. We will be getting passports this summer so I'll be looking for last minute deals that we can take advantage of. The dates would work super for us.

Now that I have read all 4 Twilight saga books I am wanting more to read. I would love some ideas for more good reading, my mind is starving now lol Being able to read them online would be a plus as well :thumbsup2

So this might not fit what you are looking for, as it is an autobiographicalesque memoir from the author's life. But I really enjoyed The Glass Castle by Jeanette Walls. It was one of the last books I read recently that I did not want to put down.

The restaurant was super slow tonight. It was torture staying there until close as I didn't get a new party after 7:30 PM. We are certainly faring better than many other restaurants around us which just shows how bad the economy is. I'm at the point where I can't decide if it is worth the time to go in these days. Thankfully Chris's job has picked up so we are doing okay. Chris would like me home more too. This week I'm only scheduled for 4 days at the aquatic center and 2 nights at the restaurant. I scheduled light since the kids are on April vacation.

Heidi- I am going to be in your neck of the woods May 1-3 and May 15-17 as I will be at camp near Split Rock.
