Birthday_Card_Elections.jpg

I just loved this one, Theresa! So I am copying it...

Enjoy your day, Matthew!

So I have a question for you all....I am a big believer in you are given situations that will teach you....

What exactly am I learning from the last year??

That is a hard question to answer on one's lunch break... so I am passing on this until later tonight. I am not certain I will have an answer for you the either, Theresa. But you have a better chance of getting one at 10:00 tonight!

Beth glad to see you around today. Now if Jennifer (tink), Lindsay, Tom, Chanon and Kristine would post more then once every few weeks.

and Marci... has anyone heard from her in the last week or so? Is she away and I missed it??

Thanks.

No, her birthday is the 30th, but because my parents won't be here for it, they got her a cake and we celebrated there. It was an ice cream cake! Let me tell you, my kids were so excited to have ice cream!

I bet they were lol

Thanks! I will try to be here more often. I really do enjoy hearing from all of you. I've been in quite a funk for quite a while now, and I'm finally taking some steps to pull myself out of it. It's become a vicious cycle, but I think I'm going to be able to break free. I don't have a reason for being in a funk like some of you, so I feel selfish/self-centered whining about it. I think once we start getting more sun, that will help, too.

Good morning, DDA.

Happy Birthday to Matthew!

I am relatively certain that at some point to day my head will pop off due to the stress of dealing with my child. I talked to the computer teacher this morning. She sent home a progress report and a failure notice, but DS made them evaporate. He is good at that. He had 2 missing assignments, he gave her one today and he will complete the other and give it to her tomorrow. He also can re-take 2 tests and if he aces them he can have a max score of 80 as opposed to a 70 and a 57. :sad2: WHY can he not seem to think to do these things on his own? This is crunch time - anything not done by Friday won't count. He MIGHT, just MIGHT be able to squeak by with a barely passing grade IF he really gives 110% over the next 2 days.

The band director has NO ESTIMATE of when they will be back from the competition. I can send DH down there to try to get DS, BUT I have no clue how DH would FIND DS once he got there. I also have no clue what we would do if the bus left when DH was on his way down there. :confused3 DS would be ON the bus. The other issue is that DS's backpack is locked in the band room, and he HAS to have it because he has stuff in there that HAS to be done tonight. I am SICK about him missing his theater performance. I called the theater and told them I just don't know what to expect.

The neuropsychologist from the children's hospital e-mailed me back - he is going to try to call me today or tomorrow. He said if I don't hear from him that I am welcome to call and see if I can catch him between appointments. So that's a good thing.

I hope you can get ds to focus and pull his grades up. We have a rule in this house that if they are not doing well in school then they will not be allowed any extra cirricular activities that would mean no theater and no band competition. You are much more tolerant than I am  That time would be set aside to do make up work, even if it was work that he couldn't get credit for. Remember that I made Hunter turn in a report about the Bahamas after he received his report card and had a B because he didn't write the report.

So I have a question for you all....I am a big believer in you are given situations that will teach you....

I'm sure you've learned a lot. You learned that you are strong enough to get out of a bad work situation. You've learned how to budget very wisely on a shoestring paycheck. You've learned that it is a very tough job market. You've learned that you DH can hold down a job when there is a need for him too (unless I missed something, I believe he was working 2 jobs). You've learned that material things aren't as important as family and friends and that you can live without a lot of things that once seemed important.

I was thrilled to have 5 pages to read this afternoon. :cool1::cool1:

My day did not start off well. My clock managed to set itself forward an hour again which meant that I got up an hour early. I quickly noticed how dark it was and checked another clock to see that it was only 5 AM, not 6. I tried to fall back asleep, but that is much easier said than done. I managed to get to work on time and we had another slow morning, until about 11 AM. Of course I had been told that I could leave at Noon because it was slow. I wanted to come home and take a nap before the kids arrived home, but it looked questionable due to the little crowd that developed. Then one of the guards that was due in at Noon called to say he would be late...and he was, an hour late. I ended up getting out 50 minutes early and did take a nap, but the kids got home just about the time I finally fell soundly asleep. Days always seem crappy when you start off on the wrong foot and that was certainly my day. Anyway I have decided to buy myself a new alarm clock as I have no idea why the thing has reset itself twice. It isn't like it could be changed by just bumping it as there are switches that have to be switched while changing the time, then they would need to be switched back. I think it is time for a Tinkerbell Alarm clock anyway :rolleyes1 Eventually I'll get my Tink bathroom done, though it will not be until June as I'm not home enough at this point.

Do to scheduling errors I have tomorrow off from both jobs. I am hoping to get a ton of housework done and get everything together for our SixFlags trip. We shouldn't need much, but we will be gone from sun up to sun down so we will need some things. We might even need sunblock :cool1:

Tonight I'm off to Lacrosse then to Summer's play.
