Hope you were able to avoid the fumes today! Can I just say how much I love Hal????
This afternoon at work, I was starting to smell a weird odor and could not figure what it was. Stephanie remembered they were starting to redo the floor in the gym.She was leaving to go home and was coughing up a storm and I had about 45 minutes to go. So far she is okay.
My co-worker told me to leave and she would close up at about 15 minutes to close. By then the migraine was starting and I was sick to my stomach. I managed to get home and immediately changed into my pjs and went to sleep on the recliner. The next thing I heard was Hal getting supper ready, emptying the dishwasher and just generally cleaning up. He brought me supper and I was able to eat a little. I am feeling better now but am apprehensive about going in tomorrow. The workers will be here all week and apparently the smell gets worse when they paint the floor.
I really hate that I get migraines from smells. It is very frustrating that I can be sick so fast and cannot control any of it. But at least Hal is understanding about it all.![]()
Those are great! I really love the ones of your kids with your parents. Here are some Easter pictures, if anyone is interested.

The neuropsychologist from the children's hospital e-mailed me back - he is going to try to call me today or tomorrow. He said if I don't hear from him that I am welcome to call and see if I can catch him between appointments. So that's a good thing.
Thanks!Congrats on the new laptop, Bernadette.
Well, I certainly think better things are in store for you and I think it will be easier to see the good that comes out of this when that day comes. I hope that day is very soon!!!!So I have a question for you all....I am a big believer in you are given situations that will teach you....
What exactly am I learning from the last year??

There's no point in yanking him out of band and/or theater until we know what the problem is. A SUDDEN drop in grades is indicative of a problem. Until I know with 100% certainty what the problem is, I'm not taking him out of the only things he enjoys. If he was just being defiant or lazy then yes, I would revoke his extracurriculars.
He says over and over again that he doesn't know what the problem is. If that is true (and it may or may not be) then that means this is not something he is doing intentionally and that it is not something that can be fixed by punishing him. I can think of about 8 or 10 separate factors that could all be part of this, and I have no accurate way of determining what is and what is not important. The neuropsychologist knows I am waiting for his call, but I suspect the call will be lengthy so I am happy that he is waiting until he has more than a minute to discuss things.
I can imagine that without knowing all of the intricacies of the situation, allowing DS to remain part of his activities could be viewed as being excessively permissive.
Happy Birthday Matthew!! Enjoy your first day of being an "adult"

YIKES! Shoulders problems are so bad because you can't escape it. Lying down doesn't always make the pain go away. I hope she heals quickly.
It looks like my coworker's boyfriend has lung cancer.I think he's in his 40's. They have him sedated, on a ventilator, and on a rocking bed to try to clear his lungs of the pneumonia. My heart really aches for her.

Hi all,
Well, what a day. The traffic was horrible and it was rainy and Guenna was not sure if they would make it. They did manage to get there on time. They went to the Eisenhower building which is next to the White House. They could not take any pictures but a staff photographer was there. Our local news team did put a picture on and a phone interview while broadcasting the event. They even made the nightly news.
Chris is right behind the Pres in this pic and then Guenna.

Guenna said Obama remembered her and she was able to give him the letter from Nick and his class and he took the time to read it and there were pictures taken by the staff photog who will get copies to them.
They left right after since they were so tired but ended up having trouble with the car, so they just got home and are exhausted.
