DDA Chapter 19

Nicholas is off to rehearsal for the Music Festival today. He will be playing the recorder, xylophone and Glockenspiel. It starts at 11:30. Thank goodness he got a ride from our neighbor, who's dd is also in it, so I don't have to be up and out the door this early on a Saturday morning, especially since Alyssa is still sleeping. At the same school is the Art Festival. All the schools in the county submit art projects from students and they are displayed throughout the hallways in the high school. Alyssa has a piece that was selected for the festival. So, for today, I have a musician and an artist in my family. :goodvibes:

Deb I keep looking at the the different specials as well. I would love to plan something with the free dining, plus I have the free US ticket just burning a hole in my pocket lol I hope you can figure something out!

I was just thinking about my free US ticket...but i know if i go down there, ill have to do disney too...So who knows hahah

Good morning

Good Morning,

The weather has been horrendous here, terrible thunder storms, tornados, and flash flooding. Two hours north of us was hit pretty hard by tornados, 60 homes were destroyed and more than 20 people injured.

Things are supposed to start clearing out today but we are still under a tornado watch.

Janet - :hug::hug::hug:

Nifty! I hope Nicholas has fun!

Stay safe, Debbie!
We had tornadoes to the north. Now it is just really windy and our temps have dropped. I turned the heat back on when i got up.

I got a note that the UIL band competition is on the same day as DS's theater performace. :headache: I need to e-mail the band director and see if he can SWEAR that the kids will be back. If he can't, then we're going to have to choose one over the other. There is only ONE show at theater. If DS misses it then he won't get another chance. They are supposed to be performing in band at 1:30, but DH said that town is an hour away. If there are delays (which is almost a given) DS may not be back in time for a 4:30 theater show. Ugh.

I told DS we will go get new glasses today since his prescription has changed a bit. I also bought boxes at Staples so we can "declutter" but when I got home last night I realized we have no tape.

:goodvibes:goodvibesHow Exciting:goodvibes:goodvibes

It appears to be nice outside today. Nick and Hunter will be leaving for the play soon and the break between performances is not long enough for them to come home. Colby and Chris and heading out to play Lacrosse. I'm waiting for my doctor's office to call me back. I still have way too much green gunk and I feel weak and dizzy overall. I fear that they won't want to see me as this virus is lasting forever and knocking everyone for a loop, but a week and a half of this is enough.

I just got an email that sears is having their family and friends VIP event this sunday 6pm to 6am on line or 6 pm to 9pm in stores

You will certainly 1-up Elin if you do that!

LOL - the only Duck Tour I have taken that you all haven't is the one in Boston! :p

I love that the school systems are still doing these. Many moons ago when I was teaching in Spotsylvania County I was part of the "start-up" team of teachers who started their Fine Arts Festival. It was a lot of work for the teachers, staff and kids involved. But the outcome is worth it. :goodvibes

I hope your weather continues to approve, Debbie. I know Georgia was to get some nasty weather today. I am hoping that the system goes off the coast and disappears before it works its way up here.

I hope they see you soon. So far my tummy is fine. I probably could of worked today but was not so sure last night.

Could you pick DS up after the band competition at its location and drive him straight to the theater performance? You might even be able to take him right after the band is done performing, rather then waiting for awards and other things to be over. Then he should be able to do both.

This might work if the school system allows it. However, the students in our local systems are required by law to ride on the school-provided transportation to and from the event.

The band competition is FAR. It is also smack in the middle of Princess's nap, so I can't go get him. If DH happens to be off that day he might be able to follow the band bus down and bring DS back. We'll have to see what his schedule looks like.

Its been quiet here today! Im still running a fever and feeling horrible so i have been in bed all day. Getting very bored!! haha

Good afternoon, DDA! So far a quiet morning here. (Sorry to hear it hasn't been the same around you, Debbie. Hope the nasty weather has cleared out!) We're getting ready to head to the mall to spend some more of Terra's birthday money and just do some wandering. We've got a cold rainy day with the potential for several inches of snow tonight. Hopefully it will keep the the low side of "several" and not find us in the middle of the big dump of it.

Tammi - Enjoy the festivals!

Deb - Hope the boys' play goes well and they are almost done with it.
