TMI alert!
Some of you know from facebook already, but we could still use some prayers this way, too

On top of the coughing spells - which now both girls have in earnest - that have me concerned because it looks just like Elise's illness that led to pneumonia and are requiring daily breathing treatments, they both have the GI thing going around, too. At first it was not at all worrisome. Kids get gastro - diarrhea, vomiting. I know it's not the last I'll see it this badly!
Now, however, Avery isn't drinking either. She has, with no exaggeration, about 10 diarrhea diapers each day, many with "water loss stool" which is even worse. She empties her stomach 1-2 times each day (we're talking more vomit than I usually produce). All this, while taking in about 7-10 ounces of liquid for the last 3 days. We've done every liquid allowed (water, juice, pedialyte, formula, whole milk, mixtures of things) in every form we can think of (sippy cups, regular cups, syringes, bottles of course), and the best day we've had in a while is 11 ounces. She should probably be having 40 or more with all of her symptoms, more now that she's coughing, too.
We're going to try popsicles today (lucky 9-month old!

) and see what she'll do with them, but she hates cold stuff so I'm not sure it will go over well.
She has been acting "well" for the most part, but is now starting to get lethargic which concerns me. My usual standard measure for dehydration (wet diapers) is almost impossible to keep track of because of the water loss stool (that looks the same, but is most certainly differentiated by smell!

).
I feel so helpless, and am starting to get very concerned that she'll need replacement fluids. I don't want that for obvious reasons, but mostly because - as I felt when we were trying to keep Elise home from the hospital - I don't want to be away from whichever one is home!
This is getting old. We haven't been "well" since January, but I expect that from winter. It's the last 2 bouts (pneumonia and now this) that have our doctor calling US every day to make sure the girls don't need admitted that have me more stressed out
The lot of DDA kiddos needs a long break.
