DDA Chapter 19

Um... they did. The first day was horrifying because of lack of sleep (up from 4:30am to 9:30 pm with about 25 mins sleep!). I might title the trip report something about a mommy meltdown, because we were on the phone with my mom trying to figure out details of canceling the trip and coming home. They had "stranger anxiety" not with people but with the hotel room (weird) :rotfl: but once they got used to things (a few days in) they were excellent!

Honestly, it was just the worst possible month to travel for their little lives thus far. A few weeks earlier and they would have been in heaven with all the attention and being held... a few weeks from now I think they'd be more attentive because they're starting to "get" what people are doing and gesturing .... right now, though, they were furious every time we put them in the stroller because it reclined and restricted them too much. They are crawling and starting to cruise all over and HATED going from one strapped thing to another. We worked around that, as you'll see if I ever get around to the TR! :P
How funny! Well, not for you then, I'm sure. Was the back of the stroller not adjustable, so they could sit up? But I know what you mean about them wanting to be able to see and explore.

Tammi, your question is a hard one. Avery is the "more smiley" in general, if she knows you. So at WDW where she just had lots of new people and things to be skeptical about (she's just at that age ), I think you're backwards this time. You got the one right earlier! :teeth:

They both really enjoyed the characters, but Elise never hesitated for a second to smile at them (and me, and every camera, and everyone). Avery was more reserved, at least to start.

Ok, I need to get in the shower so we can head out. I need to starting paying more attention to my kids, and less of yours! :rotfl: But I so miss those days!

Thanks for sending the link Elin and thanks for sharing Jennifer

My guess it is Elise who was more smiley and into the characters, but it was Avery who really liked Belle's roses.

It was so weird. They hated being on the floor, and hated when we walked around a corner. They hated the sound of the bathroom fan, and they hated the door to the balcony.

They did, however, loved the sound their voices made in the hallway and made these adorable noises each and every time to hear themselves "echo". Very intuitive, I thought! :rotfl:

The stroller did sit up to some extent, but not enough. I didn't think about that when we ordered the jogging variety. It sat up, but not to a full 90 degrees... and honestly, even then I'm not sure that would have made the difference. It would have been better, because whenever we physically pulled them up to sit (when they weren't strapped in) they were immediately happier.

Now it's time for me to make myself useful around here.

Have a Great Weekend!

I was going to say something similar to this! In my observation of your home-bound girls' photos I would say that Avery usually is the one with the big open-eyed smile so it was wonderful to see that look of delight on Avery's face in these pictures! :goodvibes

You're right. Avery is so attentive to details when she is checking things out. It takes her a bit longer to warm up to them these days, whereas she used to be my flirtatious little social butterfly! I think it's just that age, because around the house she's still full of smiles! :goodvibes:

What a wonderful way to start the day...a posting spree AND photos:goodvibes

Becky-I hope your dad is on the road to recovery....I didn't read your explanation but I hope you get the action you need and deserve for the crap you had to endure on your trip!

Heading off now to run some errands and get a filled donut that I have been craving for over a week!

We will head to ARC thrift store as Abi has once again outgrown her pants:scared1:

I forgot to tell you the wonderful thing that happened at the studio on Wednesday morning. A delivery man showed up with this:

It was from the family of one of my students but it was addressed to the entire staff. It included the nicest thank-you note for all the extra time and effort and care we give to all the students at our school. I was so touched! :goodvibes

Those fruit baskets are delicious! The chocolate covered pineapples are to die for!

ETA: It doesn't look like you have chocolate covered ones. :(

Not this time... but those chocolate-covered pineapple daisies were all that I had in the basket I took to Richmond last spring for Kristin's graduation! :goodvibes

I just realized that three months from tomorrow I will be doing this:

We had movie night tonight and watched Beverly Hills Chuhuahua. It was cute.

That's what Em and Mo watched last night! They loved it.

Tom and Robyn, way to go on the weight loss! I'm afraid to weigh myself. I never gain on Disney trips (all the walking?) but I think I did this time..... ugh. Oh, well. I suppose I need to get my act together!

Thanks Jennifer!!

Robyn I hope Mo is better soon :wizard:

Bernadette I hope Emma is feeling better :wizard:

Glynis  Hope you enjoyed your dinner :goodvibes

Thanks Janet. She is doing really well, not much slows her down. :rotfl:

Ditto on the rest!

She looks like she's not so sure about Minnie,

So adorable! :goodvibes

You all were on a roll last night and today!!! Just like the old days. :goodvibes

So will John.

We ate at the resort a lot this trip (CS DDP) and we like a lot of the desert items. What was nice is everything was considered a dessert or a snack.

And, Bob will eat anything sweet in the middle of the night.

I am back on here for a bit... anyone else need the link to Jennifer's PhotoPass pictures?
