Well, we had an excellent day today!!! It was absolutely gorgeous and got up to about 82. We dropped Phil off and work and then went to the other mall to have Chick Fil A for breakfast. After that, we headed down to the zoo. I had gotten my opening time thoughts mixed up so we were too late for the free first hour at the children's zoo, but luckily Terra never asked about going. We did pick up (free) tickets for later in the day to go in the new ZooMagination room.
The animals were out in droves and a lot of them were playing and enjoying the weather themselves. We spent a lot of time in the butterfly dome as they've changed to a bunch of African butterflies so they were all new to see and locate on the chart. We had a nice lunch by the sea lions and Terra made a new friend who has Terra wishing she was in 1st grade.
We spent some time watching the almost year old tiger cubs running around and then saw the newest giraffe. We had to skip the chips as Terra's favorite died a couple of weeks ago and she said it made her sad to go over there. We rode the carousel before heading to the ZooMagination room. It's a cool new room for kids 8 and younger and has so many activities for them. Each session is 45 minutes, but they have discovery boxes, puppet theater, big area to create animal habitats, costumes, zookeeper dress up with activities, art center and a bunch more. Terra could have been happy in there all day.
After the zoo, we went for frozen custard and then to get Phil. We made a detour to see the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile. As we pulled in, I thought it seemed a lot smaller than I remembered. Well, the license plate said LTL LINK so I figured that was part of it. Then I realized it was built on a Cooper Mini. Apparently, they have 6 big mobiles and this one smaller one. Finally, we ended up at the park with Kristi, the kids and 2 other family friends and their kids. They all played up a storm and now Kassie and Connor are spending the night. Whew!
Hopefully, the rest of the weekend will be a little slower, but we'll see (ha, yeah right, now around here
). I think we might take the kids to the park in the morning and maybe one with a bike path where they can ride. After that, Terra and Kassie have Dandy Daisies (a Girl Scout event) during which I get 3 hours to myself...ahhhhh. I just have to find a way to kindly tell my co-leader (again) that I don't really have anything for us to "meet" about since she keeps wanting to meet to discuss the girls meetings. (There just isn't that much involved as kindergarteners so I just don't have anything to meet about.)
Well, then today must definitley be a better mood day as I am being completely rambly and talkative (write-ative?
). I think the nice weather and exercise has really done me some good. I think I really need to make an effort this week to go to the new Club Fitness with Kristi to see about a trial membership like we've been talking about. I really think it would help my move to get active again.
