DDA Chapter 19

Well, we had an excellent day today!!! It was absolutely gorgeous and got up to about 82. We dropped Phil off and work and then went to the other mall to have Chick Fil A for breakfast. After that, we headed down to the zoo. I had gotten my opening time thoughts mixed up so we were too late for the free first hour at the children's zoo, but luckily Terra never asked about going. We did pick up (free) tickets for later in the day to go in the new ZooMagination room.

The animals were out in droves and a lot of them were playing and enjoying the weather themselves. We spent a lot of time in the butterfly dome as they've changed to a bunch of African butterflies so they were all new to see and locate on the chart. We had a nice lunch by the sea lions and Terra made a new friend who has Terra wishing she was in 1st grade. ;) We spent some time watching the almost year old tiger cubs running around and then saw the newest giraffe. We had to skip the chips as Terra's favorite died a couple of weeks ago and she said it made her sad to go over there. We rode the carousel before heading to the ZooMagination room. It's a cool new room for kids 8 and younger and has so many activities for them. Each session is 45 minutes, but they have discovery boxes, puppet theater, big area to create animal habitats, costumes, zookeeper dress up with activities, art center and a bunch more. Terra could have been happy in there all day.

After the zoo, we went for frozen custard and then to get Phil. We made a detour to see the Oscar Meyer Wienermobile. As we pulled in, I thought it seemed a lot smaller than I remembered. Well, the license plate said LTL LINK so I figured that was part of it. Then I realized it was built on a Cooper Mini. Apparently, they have 6 big mobiles and this one smaller one. Finally, we ended up at the park with Kristi, the kids and 2 other family friends and their kids. They all played up a storm and now Kassie and Connor are spending the night. Whew!

Hopefully, the rest of the weekend will be a little slower, but we'll see (ha, yeah right, now around here ;) ). I think we might take the kids to the park in the morning and maybe one with a bike path where they can ride. After that, Terra and Kassie have Dandy Daisies (a Girl Scout event) during which I get 3 hours to myself...ahhhhh. I just have to find a way to kindly tell my co-leader (again) that I don't really have anything for us to "meet" about since she keeps wanting to meet to discuss the girls meetings. (There just isn't that much involved as kindergarteners so I just don't have anything to meet about.)

Well, then today must definitley be a better mood day as I am being completely rambly and talkative (write-ative? :) ). I think the nice weather and exercise has really done me some good. I think I really need to make an effort this week to go to the new Club Fitness with Kristi to see about a trial membership like we've been talking about. I really think it would help my move to get active again.

Deb that wasn't too smart of the aquatics center, to have sick people working around the public.

I guess she thought it was a better idea than shutting whole place down :confused3

Tia, it sounds like a whirlwind day.

I'm finally home from work. It was a long day. We were moderately busy tonight which was nice. Hopefully tomorrow will be busier. I'm heading to bed now. night all

Oh yeah and other good news (well, mostly good). Phil talked to his parents last night. They were discussing the economy and Phil had the perfect opportunity to say something about if they were hurt more by the stock issues than expected we would understand. His mom assured him that everything was still on track for the house. The only down side is that it may be into summer before we can move on it. They are working on moving things around and doing things without having to use money from things that would incur penalties, etc. That, I absolutely understand and am more than willing to wait for their time schedule (obviously). I would hate to know they took penalties and other hits trying to do something so wonderful for us.

Tia, it sounds like a whirlwind day.

The best part was that it didn't feel that way! We were out of the house from 8:00 until almost 7:00, but never felt rushed our busy or anything that usually brings down my days. Plus, we had the sunroof open and alternately 50s and Disney music blaring which always makes a day better! I need more days like that! Glad work went okay today. Hope tomorrow is better.

Well, I think I am going to get some jammies and curl up in my chair with my book while the kids finish their movie. I'm expecting they'll fall asleep easily tonight after all the walking Terra did, plus Kristi's kids biked to the park and ran around there for at least two hours.

Good night all!

well I took Virginia to the Dr. today as she has had a temp for 3 days. They did an in and out cath on her to rule out a UTI. Her urine was normal. He said he's not convinced its the flu as she has not had a runny nose and only a very slight cough, but that its either that or a virus. If she still has a temp on Monday he wants to see her again.
He also said that if Olivia gets a temp to take her in immediately.

Looks great!!! We finally got all of our timeshare confusion figured out and have a 2 bedroom condo for our Branson vacation. Much more room now, especially if my oldest friend and/or mom's best friend decide to join us for part of it. Now to just plan what we want to do.

Oh, I am so glad you got the 2BR!! I know it was really going to be crowded for your trip. How nice!! :)

Jennifer - I hope Virginia is feeling better in the morning and hope that it stays away from Olivia and you and Jeff!

Tomorrow is our 15th Annual Sonata/Sonatina Festival. It is the second year I have been co-chair and I think the planning stages went better this year. We have 280 students participating with judging going on in three rooms at the University from 8:30-5:30. It will be a long day, but well worth it. The kids love the award ribbons and certificates they earn and enjoy listening to each other perform.

That being said... I have to meet Campus Security at 7:30 to open the Music Building and set up the rooms for the first group. So, as much as I would like to chat longer tonight I think it is in my best interest to hit the hay!

Good night, DDA!

so tomorrow is Jeff's party and his birthday is on sunday. We decided to do Beef and Chicken Fajitas, queso and chips, beans etc.

Is the universe out of alignment? I am Never the first one to post in the morning :rotfl: This is certain to be an unusual day.

We have bowling, the boys have play practice, Chris is working and I need to be at work at 3 PM. I know that it will be busy. At least we all have tomorrow off

I'm glad it's still on. You are homeschooling, right? So getting into a house before the school year starts wouldn't need to be a priority.

Elin - I hope your day goes smoothly.

You only beat me by 9 minutes. ;)

Good morning. :)

I am getting my gray covered up today, and I couldn't be happier. It's the small things that matter!

You sound chipper this morning, Elizabeth.
