DDA Chapter 19

I was able to get in to teach my 10:00 lesson. The roads were not too bad at all, even in the subdivisions. However, the downtown streets and sidewalks are another story. :( Some merchants have been diligent and cleared their walkways, but others have not bothered at all. Those are probably the same merchants who drive their big SUVs into town yesterday and opened their doors to... NO ONE... and then made it impossible for the plows to clean off the streets. Our side of William Street is pretty clear, but the parking spaces across the street are completely covered with piled up snow and plow-leavings.

Because of this and the huge amount of melting going on, we decided to open the school from 2-6 today. That will allow us to get some teaching in but will make certain all our students, as well as the staff can get out of there by sundown so that we don't have any accidents. That would truly be sad. :sad2:

Deb
:wizard: that both you and Hunter feel better soon.

I don't feel to hot right now, but that is because I had burritos for lunch today.

thanks, Anne Marie. :goodvibes

I am sure there are some 8 year olds who have mommies who take them in for waxings and manicures and pedicures and all that... but I am betting the pain of having the eyebrows waxed would make Sophie think twice (or thrice) about ever doing that again!

I am not saying you should do it! But I bet it would be a great deterrent! ;)
Good point!

Elin - I forgot to tell you, Nicholas has been invited to perform at the the County's Fine Arts Festival Musical at the high school. He was one of 2 chosen out of his classroom. I'm not quite sure if he will be doing anything other than singing or recorder. He'll have practice 2x a week before school starts for the next couple of weeks.
WTG Nicholas!!!!!!!!!!:woohoo:

I finally found time to completely catch up. Hunter stayed home from school today. He said he was okay staying home alone so I let him. I must say that it has been hard for me, but I've checked in and he seems fine. My stomach is still kind of wonky, but nothing that I can't funtion with. We are overstaffed here so I could leave if necessary, but I'm hoping to hang in there until the end.
Hope you both feel better.

Burritos...don't you know that burritos cause pregnancy of multiples?:confused3

Colby is certain of it :lmao: :goodvibes :lmao: :goodvibes

Hunter did very well on his own today. He was very proud of himself and so am I. I was a little sad as it was the first time in his life that I haven't been home to take care of him

I came home and both of my orders were here. I ordered a swimp3 player. Swimming laps should be much more fun listening to tunes. I also ordered a speedo race suit for Colby (think biking shorts) and a speedo bikini for me. I'm hoping to wear the top under my guard suit as I need the support.

Yay for Nicholas!!

Thats what I might have to do if it doesnt grow in before then or just move her photo appointment back a bit. Sophie said it would be ok if she colored it on with permanent marker!:scared1: Lord help me.

:lmao:

I can't get in to see the Dr. until tomorrow morning because she's not in today. :headache: The other thing that kind of chaps me is that they have a Dr. who specializes in styes (that I am going to see in the morning) and this is the first I have heard of her! I specifically told the eye Dr. that I have trouble with styes and he just shrugged it off. He never said there is another Dr. who specializes in treating them.

So today I get to suffer. I took an Advil so it isn't quite as sore, but it is 10 out of 10 on the annoyance scale!

Elizabeth sorry to hear you have to wait till tomorrow. I hope you don't suffer to much tonight

Congratulations to Nicholas!

Deb I hope you & Hunter are both feeling better!

Good evening!

Sorry I didn't make it back after preschool. Laura stayed home sick today with a funky stomach, so I hung out with her on the couch this afternoon. I feel a little better, but I am so, so tired. I hope I can get some sleep tonight.

Deb and Hunter, I hope you both feel better soon! It's hard to leave them when they don't feel well, isn't it? Even though Laura is 15, I still felt bad leaving when I had to teach this morning.

Elizabeth, I hope that your eye is taken care of soon. That sounds so annoying!

Heidi, I hope the burrito wears off.

Tammi, CONGRATS to Nicholas!

Anne Marie, Laura and a friend drew "make-up" and "nail polish" on themselves when they were younger. Fortunately, it wasn't permanent marker, but those washable markers are completely washable. :scared1:

I have to go feed the dog (we're dogsitting for my parents) and make dinner for my family. I don't know what yet, and I'm not particularly hungry at the moment.

Beth, I hope you and Laura are feeling better soon! You too, Deb & family!

Janet, I hope you and Gary have a wonderful trip! :yay: I hope we can find one another to say hello!

Tammi, congratulations to Nicholas!

I'm off to my twins club meeting then home to hang out with Kyle. Tomorrow morning I get to check in for our flight! :teeth: Have a great evening, DDA! :goodvibes:
