Yesterday I noticed black smoke coming out of our chimney. I checked online & seems like that could have lead to a chimney fire. Soooo, at 9pm we called our oil company & they put me on their list (which was an 8 hour window ) Prepared to stay up til 4am, we wouldn't be able to sleep anyway. Well 11pm the doorbell rings & the guy was done by 11:30. There was some blockage & not enough air flow. Easy to correct & thankfully under our oil maintenance contract.
That was our little drama last night.

How scary! I am so glad you had them come out to check!

Tammi has already. So far we are OK... I suppose I just jinxed us! The wind has really picked up and those limbs are heavy with snow. Not a good sign!

So it hardly snowed over night. But since I have been up this morning it has been snowing like mad.

Work is opening regular time. I would probably not even be heading to my normal office except for the fact that I need to get to the airport today. I just hope I can get out of the drive way. Wish me luck!

Aack, I can hear that sound with the volume down fairly low. Then again, I hear it at malls, too, or hear that 'white noise'ish kind of sound produced by security cameras in stores.... blech!

We're off to the museum, hopefully not to cause any setbacks!

Thankfully we only got 2 inches!

For us it is a lot at one time. I hope I hear from her soon too. I am going to check the outages to see if it is more widespread than just her house. I will let you know.

Kristin's bank is not closed... so that means someone is going to have to get her there by noon. Unless we make her walk.

Good Morning DDA


There was no snow this morning at 4:30. Then Hal said there was a dusting at 6:30. At 8 this morning the snow was almost up to the bottom of my car. I can't take pictures cause my camera battery needs charged!!!!

I called Stephanie and told her the plows have not come thru yet and there is no way I can get out. My co-worker called me and said she was not going to make it either.

The one school that is about a mile from our house is not closed but will probably do an early dismissal.

What a morning!!!!

Dominion Power is reporting some widespread outages in our area. Looks like the largest one is sitting right over Tammi's house.

Well that is not good

We have about 9-10 inches of snow & it's still coming down.
