I really like them too. I need to find a place I can go try them on. One of the sandal styles from last year were just not comfortable on me and I don't want to get them home and have to ship them back. Although many of the places now offer free shipping both ways...

That is heck of a snow storm Elin!!

Thankfully we only got 2 inches!

I hope Tammi's power comes on quickly....if that happened here, Bill would need oxygen!

For us it is a lot at one time. I hope I hear from her soon too. I am going to check the outages to see if it is more widespread than just her house. I will let you know.

Kristin's bank is not closed... so that means someone is going to have to get her there by noon. Unless we make her walk.

Good Morning DDA


There was no snow this morning at 4:30. Then Hal said there was a dusting at 6:30. At 8 this morning the snow was almost up to the bottom of my car. I can't take pictures cause my camera battery needs charged!!!!

I called Stephanie and told her the plows have not come thru yet and there is no way I can get out. My co-worker called me and said she was not going to make it either.

The one school that is about a mile from our house is not closed but will probably do an early dismissal.

What a morning!!!!

Dominion Power is reporting some widespread outages in our area. Looks like the largest one is sitting right over Tammi's house.

There was no snow this morning at 4:30. Then Hal said there was a dusting at 6:30. At 8 this morning the snow was almost up to the bottom of my car. I can't take pictures cause my camera battery needs charged!!!!

According to my Weather Channel Desktop we might be getting the last of our snow about now... But watch out, Robyn and Becky and Terry and Stephanie!

ETA: Looks like Robyn might be missing the heaviest bands of this.

Probably so! It looks like maybe 6 inches out back on our deck.

Our power flickered a bit and it seems our county is the worst hit with power outages. Our county has 3388 (down from 18,000), the next one down is 315.

Bob says our power flickered early this morning too. That red dot sitting on the Dominion Power map means in this small area alone there are anywhere from 2501-10,000 homes without power. My guesstimate is that our general area has thousands and thousands who are affected.

The sun is trying to come out here even while the snow is coming down. Here is why the white stuff is sticking to the trees so well. Look at those buds!

Yesterday I noticed black smoke coming out of our chimney. I checked online & seems like that could have lead to a chimney fire. Soooo, at 9pm we called our oil company & they put me on their list (which was an 8 hour window ) Prepared to stay up til 4am, we wouldn't be able to sleep anyway. Well 11pm the doorbell rings & the guy was done by 11:30. There was some blockage & not enough air flow. Easy to correct & thankfully under our oil maintenance contract.
That was our little drama last night.
