I cringed when he told me but he told me that they are really mean when they are hurt and he didn't want it to run off and attack another animal.

We see Possums fairly often... and they are the ugliest animals! We had another coyote in our yard today. :scared1:

Deb -- congratulations! That is terrific news. :)

Debbie -- I hope your DD is feeling much better and they find out ASAP what it is so she can be around the baby.

Elizabeth -- it sounds like your visit to Lewisville was very lucrative. We only collect special pins and don't trade so it sounds like it might not be worth the 60 + mile trip for us. I appreciate you checking it out and "taking one for the team." ;)

I took Jake to soccer earlier, and walked around the ballfields on a track while he practiced. I'm frustrated with his soccer coach. Jake has been on the same team for years now, but they have a new coach. He seems like he'll be good, but he's young and hasn't coached much. One of the Mom's of a new kid called the coach and asked if her kid could have the #1 for his jersey. He said yes without asking any of the kids on the current team if they have that number. Yep -- it's Jake's number, and he was expected to pick another one, after all the numbers he likes were taken. If this happened to Andrew, it wouldn't be a big deal because he doesn't care that much. Jake was hurt, and I understand why. It IS just a number, but it wasn't right for it to be taken away from him. He's been #1 in every sport he's played since he started playing organized sports. I'm glad they don't practice again until Thursday so that he can get over it by then.

I'm watching TV and finishing weekend chores while Randy has the boys at baseball lessons. I hope everyone is having a great weekend. :)

Yay!!! I guess this means you passed?! :cheer2:

I want one. I did see that BJ's has one that comes with lots of pods. I tried to compare it to what amazon has and there are SOOOOO many different models. I would want to understand what is "mini" about the QVC one.

I know nothing about these, is the mini because it only makes one cup? I think it is smaller also :confused3

Sorry Jakes number was given away :sad2: The coach should have checked 1st. Hopefully Jake will find a new number that he likes!

Sounds like you need one of Elin's wine floats.

Bernadette, that sounds like a winner!!!!

That sucks. I think I'd talk to the coach about it. It is not fair to take a number away from someone

I wish there was some way the kid could find out that the number was already taken. I have to believe he wouldn't want to take a number that another kid has worn for so long...... The coach should own up to the mistake and ask the other kid to pick another number. :flower3:

It is still snowing here. I think we have about 5 inches on the ground and it is supposed to snow all night. It isn't looking hopeful for school tomorrow and of course it is my first day of work. Thankfully my Dad is not working tomorrow so he is planning to watch all 5 kids since SIL has to work too. It is always something isn't it.

what did dufus do today?

oh so much! He tried once again to make his problems my fault. I told him repeatedly this week "I am dammed if I do, dammed if I don't" so I am done not telling him off. He then had the audacity to tell me that I couldn't give him examples from the last couple of months where he hadn't been a good man. :rotfl:

Marci, that really is crummy. I would let the coach know that he screwed up. It would be thoughtful of him to tell the mom of the new kid he didn't realize that number was taken.
Unless you are looking for pins to trade the drive to Lewisville is probably not really worth it. I can't imagine that we will make another trip up there, but I will probably keep an eye on the threads about the sale in case they get replenished with something amazing. :rolleyes1 DH got to look in the Circuit City across the street but they didn't have anything good.

We never go to the movies so we don't know anything about any of the Oscar nominees. :confused3

Possums are hard animals to die. Hal hit one going home one night and he knew it would suffer, so he ran over it again to make sure it was dead. He said he came back that way the next day and the thing was gone!!!

Chuck says you can get $15 for the skins.

Lizzy and I worked a trip report for her this weekend. She did one during the week while she was home in her school journal but it was all bullet points. I told her she needed to do a better job but the task was overwhelming her. We ended up with her dictating it to me as I typed it out for her. She just couldn't sit down and write it all out. I printed out about 100 pictures and then we printed her trip report onto 4x6 index cards and put them all into a photo album. I think she'll really treasure it in the years to come.

I finally got permission from San Disc to return my defective memory card. It wasn't easy talking to their customer service department but hopefully I'll get a new card soon.

One of my coworkers is going to Disney the same exact dates that I am. I wasn't happy about paying $300 each for airfare. He just bought his tickets last weekend and paid almost $500 each.:scared1: He just emailed me and asked if I had looked at Jet Blue lately. My flight out has been canceled. We were booked on the 8:30am now we are on the 9:30. I honestly can't say that I'm horribly disappointed as getting to the airport for the 8:30 would have meant leaving the house at 6:00am. I checked my seats and both of my flights look to be only half full. Jet Blue is showing other flights those days as sold out.
