Hooray,,,, YIPPIE SKIPPIE!!!!!!! :cool1: :yay: :dance3:  :thumbsup2 :woohoo:

Not all of the indoor or winter drumlines are not attached to the schools. So there might be one out there that he could join. You might want to ask his band director if he knows of any near by. I think most require that you be 14 to join. Which I know he is not yet. But you may be able to attend a competition if one is nearby.

Kaelyn's in a "Winter Guard/Drumline" through her school. Here's their first performance on the steps of Oregon's capitol. Music by Wall-E ;) It was so crowded that all I could do was get Kaelyn, I couldn't get the whole group

Bob and I just made some plans for August 7-9... :rolleyes1

Lindsay - DS would LOVE to have a full set of drums. He likes to play the demo sets at Guitar Center. But there is no way. We don't have the space or the funds for a set like that. :scared: And I couldn't tolerate the noise if we did have the room and the money!

I can totally understand that!!!

Thanks Becky. That is exactly what I needed right now.

Vicki - I've been meaning to ask you - how is Becky doing?

I am sure you will be fine. You can always read through the materials again later to review.

I am sure that NOBODY who has saved someone's life has done it exactly the way it is presented in the textbooks and class. You do what you need to do, if presented with that situation. Good Luck!

I was thinking the same thing, Becky. Good luck today, Deb! I'm sure you'll do great. Stay safe in that weather!

Oh, how fun! I wish I had been able to go last year - sadly, it wasn't in the cards, and it certainly won't be this year either. Make sure you stay on top of their announcements - crazy how fast that sells out, and I bet it might go even faster this year (particularly since there's not going to be a MouseFest).

Marci & Lindsay - There is a temporary Disney liquidation store in Lewisville right now. It is park merchandise, not stuff from the Disney Store. I am not sure if we will make the trip up there to scope it out or not, but I thought I would mention it! :thumbsup2

Thanks for the tip - wow, it looks like it just opened yesterday. We certainly don't "need" anything, but perhaps I'll go check it out - Lewisville isn't that far from me! Let me know if you go!

So, I have a "WWYD" question for y'all.

In looking at the calendar, I'm thinking if we want to get back to WDW while I can still travel (and after we hopefully find out what we're having), then we need to make the trip in mid-to-late May. Jonathan would prefer to go late in the week, and come back over the weekend, and we're trying to only have him miss 2 days of work. My thought, if I can get the flights with SW rewards, is to fly out Wednesday evening, and stay off-site or value that first night, and then check-in for 3 (or 4) nights on-site.

So, my dates could be either Wed., 5/13 - Sun., 5/17; OR Wed., 5/20 - Mon., 5/25. The second set of dates would be over Memorial Day weekend, and would give us an opportunity for an extra day. However, I'm wondering if it would be best to go a week prior with lesser crowds, but lose a park day.

What do you guys think? Part of me says I'd like the extra day, but if the crowds are bad (that's also the start of Star Wars weekends), then perhaps it's not worth it. Has anyone been to the World over Mem. Day weekend before? I've been the week afterwards, but never actually over the holiday. I know most schools are still in session, but I could see there being a local draw, plus people wanting to take advantage of the holiday (like us). The UG Crowd Calendar has those days as "9"s, which certainly gives me pause.

Vicki - I've been meaning to ask you - how is Becky doing?

Her engagement is over and she seems to be doing ok with that. She has a couple of other guys that like her which helps her. I wish she could realize that she could play the field awhile and doesn't need a steady boyfriend. She is looking forward to spring break and spending time with us.

the one year in the past that I could have gone I didn't get notice to pay for it until after I left for work. I am hoping that doesn't happen again this year.

Lindsay - I don't have an answer to your question about the better time to go in May. But I think it is wonderful that you two are trying to find one! :goodvibes

Congratulations Channon!!!

It is so exciting!!!!

I would probably avoid the holiday weekend. How about Wed 5/6 - Sun 5/12?;)

Apparently Fred will send out an email advising when everyone can register. I will be staying up so I can sign up right at midnight

Bob and I just made some plans for August 7-9... :rolleyes1

So you are doing the Magic Meet?

I wish I knew when they were opening registration. Anyone know? Knowing my luck it will be during my trip when I will not have regular internet access.

I'm glad to hear she's getting over things.

I would actually much prefer to go earlier in May, but that's not going to be an option. :sad2: We have committed to see my niece get baptized on Mother's Day weekend down in Houston, plus I'm betting that I'll have my 20-week u/s early that week right after Mother's Day (since they made me wait until the week after the mark this time, I'm being conservative that they'll do that again). We definitely don't want to go until we know if we're having a boy or girl (and hopefully he/she will cooperate!).

They just sent an e-mail out today, Becky, that you can go ahead and "preregister". I'm assuming you can go to their site to do so.

So does anyone haev any fun plans for today? I think Im just going to be a bum! We have parent/teacher conferences all week and I know that is usually such a crazy week and ill be exhausted.

Today, I am still in bed (i know, lazy!) and my only plans are to start trying on my tank tops and summer clothes so I know what I have for Florida next month. Other than that, as long as i get my 20 min of walking/exercising in, i have nothing planned!

I should be packing, or at least throwing things together. Instead I am still in my PJ's watching Deuce Bigelow. But instead of that I should be figuring out what I am talking about tonight.

I have to go to a college tonight and do a 30-45 minute Girl Scout crash course for them. I do not know what I am doing yet. I can easily spend that long talking about Girl Scouts and how to run a troop. Frankly I am frustrated that I have to go, as I will spend at least 4 times as long driving to and from there as I will actually be there. :upsidedow

Registration is now. Payment comes later.

when exactly do you leave, Becky?

I did pre-register, but that is not the actual registration for the event. Last year I pre-registered as well and then missed the registration period when you can pay.

I see last year it opened on 3/3/08 and it sold out in 38 hours.

I hope that they open it up for payment later since the event is later. As I am in FL on the date it opened last year.

There is an ad at the top of my DIS page for free dining... 2008 ?!?!

Last year's event was in the middle of July so maybe this year's payments will be a week or so later? I hope so!

when exactly do you leave, Becky?

Monday, night 3/2, my flight is at 7:20pm. I am working that day and going to the airport from work. So I have to be packed by next Sunday. Then again my last trip I literally packed things in my suitcase only starting about 2 hours before I left for the airport. I will not be doing that again. Then again I did not think I was going.
